Haha, I wonder if this costume feels as much of a disappointment to you as it feels to me. But let's talk about more positive topics first...

About two years ago I fell in love with HBO's TV show Game of Thrones. About one year ago I started reading the A Song of Ice and Fire book series. About half a 6 months ago I decided to cosplay as Daenerys Targaryen and about 5 months ago people commented on pictures of my Daenerys Targaryen costume telling me I had not done well and should better try cosplaying as Margaery Tyrell next time. Luckily House Tyrell happened to become my favourite House in the ASoIaF Universe and Margaery one of my favourite characters... and that's why I decided to give making one of her dresses a try.

When I made the decision to cosplay as Margaery Tyrell, pictures of her beautiful S3 dresses had not been released yet. Otherwise I would have probably gone for one of her newer outfits right away.
I used approx. 7m of fabric for the whole 'Valar Dress' from S2E10 - 6m of light blue cotton for the skirt and the sleeves, 50cm of blue fabric for the top and 50cm for the brown undergarment. Putting the whole outfit together took about a week. I spent 3-4 days of this week embroidering the vest with my sewing machine.

The most difficult aspects of the costume were constructing the patterns for the undergarment which needed to be very tight and the vest which ended up consisting out of approx. 60 pieces of fabric. The dress itself is very well-made and looks very neat, it's incredibly uncomfortable to wear and very hard to move in it though. Unfortunately I still haven't found a perfect rose necklace to wear with this outfit either.
All in all this costume has taught me a lot about pattern making and fitting, my next Highgarden outfit has to become much better though.

Contrary to many opinions I have to admit that I don't think character suits me very well. This particular outfit of hers is anything but flattering for my bodytype. I hope I'll be able to make a more convincing Margaery Tyrell wearing one of her S3 dresses. I'll wear my S3 dress on Connichi Friday and Ring*Con Saturday and for a special photoshooting in August.

Alright, I have to admit I didn't stick to the three-day-rhythm, but I am updating my deviantArt account which is good, isn't it?
Anyway, here's another picture taken during the photoshooting in London I did with the amazing crew of Sexy Cosplay Girls UK back in February.
Remember the freezing temperatures and the snowflakes I talked about in the artist's comment of the previous picture I uploaded? If you look closely you can see them floating in the air in this one. No matter how cold it was, though, I'm simply overwhelmed by the way these pictures turned out. I mean, look at this! I can hardly believe this shows my work. This looks like a proper movie poster! I'm in love!

At another point I'm very sorry I'm so slow at replying to all your comments and messages, but I'm extremely busy at the moment. I am currently working on my Bachelor's Thesis / Final Disseration at university. Consequently the amount of time I can spend on the internet browsing websites and answering messages is rather small. But don't worry - Everybody who sent me a message or commented on a picture of mine will get an answer. But it will take a little while. At the moment there are approximately 1.500 messages in my inbox and I'm answering a couple of comments a day... I'm doing my best to get back to you as fast and soon as possible. I have not forgotten about anyone of you! I promise! Thank you very much for your understanding!

I just went through my dA gallery and... I have to admit that I was shocked. I was so shocked I almost fell off my chair. I have only uploaded THREE pictures in 2013? Only THREE!? What the hell happened, this is a shame! I have so many pictures to share, why didn't I just do it?
Alright, folks! Starting from today I'll upload a picture every three days! What does that sound like to you? I need to bring this account and gallery up to date again!! Within the next weeks you'll get to see pictures of Princess Leia, Stephanie Brown, Leah of Hel, Lucrezia Borgia, Margaery Tyrell and Aida Riko from Kuroko no Basuke here!

I'll upload my work in chronological order which means I'll start with the pictures of my Stephanie Brown Robin costume from DC's Batman and Robin. These pictures were taken by the amazing crew of Sexy Cosplay Girls UK in London back in February.
Up to this point I had never been part of a professional photoshooting before. Consequently I was rather nervous and insecure not to be able to live up to the standards they expected and needed. Working with Lucas, Jonathan and Daniel was surprisingly easy though. They had gathered a lot of references already, done research on the character and created a concept on what they wanted the pictures to look like. I had a lot of fun during the photoshoot!
The hardest part of the shooting was dealing with the temperature which was freezing that day. On some of the pictures you can even see tiny snowflakes floating in the air. Haha!
However, I think we made the very best out of the weather, the location and the costume. I, personally, am incredibly happy about the way these photographs turned out. The quality of them is simply breathtaking, one of them looks like a real movie poster... I'd love to work together with the SCG Team again in future!

Thank you so much for all the favourites, views and comments on the last picture of Leia I uploaded! I would have never thought the costume would be so well received! I'm very, very happy you like it! Thank you so much!

Here's another shot on which you can see the full costume - even the shoes. You have no idea how hard it was to find plain, flat, white boots. I ended up buying grey boots with two buckles which I removed. Afterwards I painted the shoes with white resin-based paint. They're not perfect, but they look alright and are very comfortable.
All in all it was great to cosplay as Princess Leia. The costume is so simple and comfortable and yet so iconic. It's amazing! I think it would be amazing to organize a big Star Wars cosplay group for a convention one day. If somebody's interested - drop me a message and let me know!

Gosh! Long time no deviation! And I'm terribly sorrry for that. But there were simply no pictures left to upload.
Anyway, have one of the first pictures of my latest costume - Princess Leia Organa from Star Wars Ep. IV - A New Hope which I debuted at London Super Comic Con past weekend!
Since I basically grew up with Star Wars it was more or less clear that I'd make one of Leia's outfits some time. I mean, I got my first lightsaber when I was 4... The force is strong in my family. Haha.

I put the outfit together in about 1,5 weeks. The dress is made from heavy jersey, the belt from cotton fabric, pieces of Worbla's Finest Art and plain silver buttons. The wig was styled by the amazing TheLupin, because I'm the worst at wig styling. I tried to to it myself at first, but it was of absolutely no use. I'm incredibly grateful she offered her help. Otherwise I would have never been able to finish and wear this costume. Thank you, Line, you're the best!

Spring is finally here - so I decided to share a picture which actually shows what spring in (certain parts of) Germany looks like! ♡
Past weekend we went to Schwetzingen to finally see the Japanese cherry blossoms in the huge park there. It was a stunning view. I was so happy to be there - I had never seen anything like it. The tiny picknick we had organized was gorgeous as well. We had cake and sandwiches and vegetables and sweets... Oh, yeah, and during breaks from eating we also took a couple of pictures.

Talchy and I started working on her Haruka costume about three years ago, but stopped because we couldn't find time to finish the trousers. After three years of waiting she finally finished her costume and we spontaneously decided to take pictures under the cherry trees. Although we have known each other for almost 4 years(?) now this is the first time we actually cosplay together! It was about time!
I'm very grateful Devil and Franky agreed to take pictures of us although we weren't their actual models that day. I really appreciate it and I'm happy the way the pictures turned out. Thank you once again!

Aigue-Marine: Cosplay of 2012

... and another year is drawing to an end. Wow. I cannot believe 2012 is almost over. Time does surely go by fast, doesn't it?

I think December 31st is a good point in time to properly reflect about oneself. To me 2012 was a year with ups and downs. Looking back there is a handful of events which made and still make me incredibly sad.
First of all the loss of very important friend who I lost due to my own reckless- and selfishness. I also grew further apart from other people who are really important to me. Coping with the fact that there's basically nothing I can do about it gave and still gives me a really hard time. I also regret spending way too much time alone at home.

I should also try to think about the positive aspects of 2012, shouldn't I?
In 2012 I finished my first long-term internship. I started my 5th semester at university in which I did exceptionally well and in which I received more good grades than I had expected.
I was also able to visit my first convention in the UK - Kapow! Comic Convention - which was a blast. I met many writers and artists of some of my favourite comics personally. I got a couple of comicbooks signed, gosh, a picture of my costume even made it into an issue of Journey Into Mystery!
Besides that I got invited to a convention in Denmark for the first time, was allowed to judge the cosplay competition and met many old and new friends there!
I met truly inspiring personalities like Yaya Han and some of my favourite actors from Game of Thrones, like Jason Momoa, Iain Glen and Finn Jones. I made it to another amazing convention in the UK... A good friend of mine gave birth to a lovely daughter... and moreover my friends and my family are all healthy and alright. Maybe 2012 wasn't as as up-and-down as I thought..?
Anyway, I should be grateful for what I have. I'm looking forward to 2013 alredy! No matter how many difficulties I'll have to have - I'll definitely make the best out of it! I hope you do too!

And here comes the fifth picture of my Belle costume. A darker one this time.
In this picture we tried to recreate a scene from the movie in which she stumbles through the woods to find her father, but discovers the Beast's castle instead. Luckily the huge iron gate of the Residenz Würzburg looked very similar to the gate in the movie.

I'm still working on my expression. Many people already told me that this picture would have turned out better if I had opened my mouth a little bit. My photographer and I chose this picture deliberately though. It's a part of a photo series/gallery. Since my mouth was opened in the majority of other pictures of the series already we decided to go for this one instead. To get an impression of what I'm talking about you can take a look at the whole photo series right HERE.

It's a Saturday evening, I'm home alone and everybody else seems to be busy. I feel sort of lonely and a bit pathetic. LOL.
To distract myself a bit from my current situation I decided to upload another picture of my Belle costume and to use the description of this picture for therapeutic writing.
The majority of you seems to be fed up with seeing pictures of Belle already, but it's the only costume I have pictures to share at the moment. I'm sorry. I hope I'll be able to finish another one in the next weeks.

I'm back from TiCon 2012 in Würzburg! I had a great time there although it was a rather small convention without too many visitors.
The area around the building in which the convention takes places is incredibly beautiful. It's right next to Würzburg's castle where we took a lot of pictures of Belle. I'm so excited to see what they turned out like. I mean, I already saw some of the previews - but the edit pictures are completely different story.

Anyways, the picture you can see above is my favourite pictures of the shooting. I think it just captures the whole spirit of Belle pretty well. I also like the warm autumn colours in the baackground.

Another shot of Belle! Taken at MCM Expo / London Comic Con as well! I hope you like it!
This is the last picture of Belle for now though. I will upload more as soon as I get to take photos with a proper background, etc. The white wall of the exhibition hall isn't too nice to look at, is it?

Cosplaying as Belle was a dream of mine since I was 6 years old. She has always been my favourite Disney Princess. Wearing this blue dress of hers was absolutely amazing. Besides that getting recognized by children is, like, the best thing ever! They are so cute!

My most memorable moment in this costume, however, was at the dealer's room though. I was searching my bag for my cellphone when a Deadpool cosplayer approached me and told me where to find the books! That was amazing! Haha!

I'm going to wear this costume at TiCon in Würzburg again which takes place in about two weeks! I'm looking forward to it already!

I'm back from MCM Expo/Comic Con which took place in London past weekend! The convention was a blast! I had so much fun and met so many amazing people!
I was also impressed how huge the convention compound is! I think I have never been to a convention this big before.

I'm glad I managed to finish Belle in time! It was such a nice and comfortable costume to wear. And very, very popular with the kids as well.
If I should fail my studies I'll just become one of these rentable Disney princesses for children's birthday parties!
I'm looking forward to wearing this costume at TiCon in Würzburg again. Maybe I can finish her cloak until then. I'd also like to make one of her other ~~casual~~ dresses. Let's see what I can make out of my leftover fabrics!

LoK: Mako and Korra I

I have to admit that I have been a bit hesitant to post pictures of my Korra costume on the internet, because it has caused cosplayers I know a lot of trouble. I hope deviantArt will acknowledge the work I put into the costume though.

This cosplay had been finished back in August already. I'm the biggest failure when it comes to wig styling though. I messed up the wig 4 times until I finally gave up. Thank Goodness lovely and talented L-a-y-l-a agreed to lend me her Korra wig on Connichi Sunday.
I'm happy Line and I were able to take some quick pictures together! She makes the most amazing Mako and I'm looking forward to a proper photoshooting with her! ♥

Personally I'm not convinced by this costume. Its shape is not flattering and I don't think I look like Korra at all. I hope I can revise it soon.

I promised that the next picture I'd upload would be Wonder Girl - so here we go! Just like all my other Wonder Girl pictures this photo was taken during a shooting back in August. It was very windy that day. You most likely already noticed it. My wig was a mess after the shooting.
Nevertheless I had a lot of fun posing and climbing up all monkey bars at the playground where we took these pictures. I'm very happy how they turned out.

When I checked yesterday's poll for the last time the majority of people had voted for more pictures of Daenerys - so here we go!
This photograph was taken at Connichi 2012 in Kassel a few weeks ago as well. I really liked how this turned out. The overgrown wall was one of the possible backgrounds which resembled Qarth the most. I'm happy we decided to take the pictures there.

I really like how the colours in this picture look as well. The belt is clearly visible as well which is cool. It took me days to make it and it was such a pain to cut out. (Both the belt and the shoulder pieces are made from Worbla's Finest Art - a head-shapeable plastic similar to Wonderflex.)

Up next is a picture of Wonder Girl I guess. I would have never thought so many people would like to see another picture of Cassie. It's such a simple costume after all.

Another shot of Daenerys! ♥ I spent the past days in Munich at Glasmond's and we did a couple of photo and video shootings with various costumes of mine. We were really, really productive! She took so many gorgeous pictures... I'm absolutely overwhelmed! I don't know which pictures to upload first.

This picture was taken at the Hofgarten in Munich. A street musician was playing next to us while we took the pictures. I think many tourists that walked past us thought that I was one of these sculpture artists. They seemed to like the costume though. Haha!
I hope you haven't gotten tired of Dany yet! I'll upload some more pictures of her in the next days!

I finally got hold of some more pictures taken at Connichi 2012 in Kassel which took place about 1 1/2 weeks ago!
As some of you might have noticed I threw over my costume schedule completely last minute. I wore all costumes I had announced to wear, but I wore them in a completely different order. Instead of Korra I wore Leah from Journey Into Mystery on Friday. It was a good choice though. I didn't see my cosplay partner who was supposed to be Mako to my Korra all day and after the long car ride I wouldn't have been clear-headed enough to apply proper body paint either. So Leah it was.

The costume was surprisingly well received at the convention. I didn't expect that. I even met a nice girl who cosplayed Kid Loki. Unfortunately I haven't found pictures of us online so far.
I was generally surprised how well-known "Journey Into Mystery" in Germany is. I'm really happy about that! The series is amazing and deserves a huge fanbase! <3

Everytime I see high-quality pictures of this costume I just wish bias-tape was easier to work with... Ehehehe.

Alright! Here comes the first proper picture of my Daenerys Targaryen costume from Game of Thrones which was taken during Connichi 2012 in Kassel past weekend.
It took me approximately 1,5 weeks to finish this costume. Making both the belt and the shoulder pieces took the longest time, I guess.
They were made from "Worbla's Finest Art" which is a heat-shapeable plastic similar to Wonderflex. Making a stencil from bad screenshots was a pain, but I'm happy about the way the pieces turned out in the end. Even Yaya Han seemed to like them. :3

Aah! I'm back with another picture of my Robin costume! I'm really sorry I'm so slow when it comes to replying to comments and messages at the moment, but preparations for Germany's biggest convention which will take place next week keep me busy! There are still so many things to do - so many parts of costumes to fix, wigs to style and props to make! I'm still confident I can make it though! And I'm looking really forward to three days of cosplaying and seeing many amazing people again!

I think I haven't menationed it so far, but I spent past weekend at Calssara's. We went to Schwetzingen and took pictures of some of our old costumes there. I wore a costume I finished back 2009 already, but which I had never worn so far. I won't tell what it is for now... I hope I can upload some pictures in the next days! Besides that I'll put on my costume schedule for Connichi and a few previews of my new costumes tomorrow.

Hurrah! I'm back from GenkiCon in Denmark and an exhausting photoshooting weekend at Calssara's!
The convention was a blast! I had so much fun there! It was the first convention I ever got invited to as a cosplay judge and it was amazing! Both the cosplay show and the costumes were great and I really enjoyed watching all the skits. I was also asked to give an interview for a Danish YouTube Channel! The interview will be up in a few weeks, I guess. Stay tuned!

The picture you can see above was taken by the amazing Ali Jehad who also took pictures of my Batgirl costume back at J-Pop-Con in November. I'm so happy we found time to take some pictures of my Robin costume although the schedule of the convention was rather right.

This is my favourite photo of the series. The tunic comes up over my hip in here, but hey, you move and the clothes you wear move with you, right? I also wish I had brushed my wig a bit more and had refreshed my make-up, but well, that's what you look like after an exhausting night of crimefighting, I guess. ;D

Another shot of Wonder Girl! I hope I can upload pictures of other new costumes soon...
I really need to revise some parts of Wonder Girl for Connichi where I'm going to wear it together with Y-o-s-s-i as Wonder Woman. I still need proper shoes and a proper lasso... The golden rope I used for this shooting looks really cheap and stupid. Haha. I'm still looking really forward to wearing this costume. It's so comfortable and just perfect for a lazy Saturday evening.

Sorry, the wig is a bit messed up in here. It was very windy the day we took the pictures. I'm really, really happy the way the make-up turned out too. I'm not very skilled when it comes to putting on eyeshadow and eyeliner and fake-lashes and stuff. Therefore I'm really happy it turned out so well this time. I was wearing circle lenses for the first time as well. They were surprisingly comfortable to wear.

By the way I'll re-wear this costume at Connichi in Kassel together with Y-o-s-s-i as Wonder Woman. Check out her tumblr account to see what her costume looks like so far! It's absolutely stunning and I cannot wait to take pictures with her! ♥

Alright! I promised to write a more elaborate comment - so here it is! Long time no new deviation, right?
I'm really sorry, but the past months have been rather stressful to me. I had to finish projects at university and had to write exams and term papers. I'm happy the semester is over and I can finally concentrate on nicer things again - such as sewing and taking pictures.

I finished my Wonder Girl costume a while ago already. I just needed something nice and easy to work on to get my mind off university related topics from time to time.
It's completely made from left-over fabrics and was therefore pretty cheap.

The shooting took place two weeks ago. My amazing photographer edited 5 pictures so far which I'll upload in the upcoming days! Stay tuned!

Good evening guys! How are you?
I'm terribly sorry for not uploading pictures of new costumes lately, but to be honest... I don't have any. Therefore I hope it's alright to show pictures of older costume I haven't uploaded on Tumblr or deviantArt yet.

At the moment I'm stuck in my exam phase which ends on July 21st. So prepare for new costumes and pictures from this date on. I hope I'll be able to get smaller pieces and easier costumes done until this day.
In the past two days I made Katara's tunic from season III of Avatar - The Last Airbender because I was up to it. The tunic can be seen HERE!

Normally I don't like uploading convention snapshots on deviantArt, but this picture is too nice not to share. It was taken at Kapow! Comic Convention in London one month ago.

A few weeks before the convention was about to take place I felt like making another costume to wear there. I was a lot into Journey Into Mystery back then. Therefore I decided to go for Leah, because I really liked her sarcastic attitude and her character design. I love fantasy outfits, but I had never had the opportunity to make one before. Consequently Leah was the perfect character so cosplay.
As soon as I had decided to go for Leah everything went down. Honestly, I felt like some higher power was keeping me from making this costume. The bias tape I wanted to buy was out of stock, it was nearly impossible to find a proper black wig and the shop I ordered fabric from sent it to me in a completely wrong colour. In retrospect I think I was rather lucky to finish the costume in time.

Besides that I would have never expected the costume to be received so well at the convention. Many people knew who I was and took pictures. Even Mr. Kieron Gillen and Mr. Dough Braithwaite seemed to like it. I had a great time!

At this point I'd also like to thank Holly for cosplaying with me! She makes an incredible Kid!Loki. I'm normally not a person to make funny faces, but her attitude encouraged me. You could say she brought out the "best" in me. Haha. Anyways, it was a pleasure to cosplay with you! Thank you very much! ♥

Gosh, the more often I look at these pictures the more I realize how many aspects of this outfits I have to revise. I should remake the dress, make gloves and get hold of proper boots. It would be so cool to wear it at a convention, don't you think so?
I'd also love to cosplay her outfit out of Young Justice: Invasion, but that would mean remaking my stealth suit completely... Aaah. Nevermind though. First of all I have to finish my Wondergirl costume anyway... ;D

Whohoo! Good evening folks!
I'm back from London! Kapow! Comic Convention was a blast and one of the most amazing events I have ever been to! I met Scott Snyder, Kieron Gillen and many other great people!
I will try to wirte a proper convention report as soon as possible.

Anyway, the picture above is the first proper photograph of one of my latest costumes: Stephanie Brown's Robin outfit from DC's Batman.
As you might have noticed Steph is my favourite female comic heroine. Since I had done her Batgirl and Spoiler outfits before her Robin getup was a must-have for me as well! I'm really happy the way the costume turned out. It is really comfortable to wear and colourful! Once again all pieces of the costume (besides the boots) are self-made.

[Information for everybody who is interested in materials/crafting: The mask is made of Worbla's Finest Art which is similar to Wonderflex. The utility belt is once again made out of crafting foam.]

In addition I also used a special sort of wig for this costume. It is called lace-front wig and makes the hairline of the wig look more natural.
At the beginning I was a bit insecure whether I could handle such a professional product, I quickly figured out that it wasn't difficult to put on though. It was easy to cover the hairline with make-up too. I highly recommend this type of wigs. They're amazing!

TB: Ion Fortuna I

After more than a month here comes the first picture of my Ion Fortuna costume from the amazing series Trinity Blood.
I watched Trinity Blood for the first time back in 2005 and fell in love with Ion and Radu immediately. Unfortunately I didn't know much about creating patterns, sewing, etc. back then.
Regarding the fact that the Trinity Blood design is well known for its extremely detailed outfits it was the right decision not to make the costume when I lacked experience and knowledge. It would have been a huge waste of time and money.

I'm glad I finally succeeded to make this costume though! Ion is still one of my favourite anime characters.
Since he's is a nobleman - the Count of Memphis - I wanted to use the most expensive-looking materials for his outfit as possible.
It's a pity you cannot see the beautiful Oriental weaving pattern of the white fabric in this picture. I also made the complete set of jewellery myself this time.

Instead of working on my presentation for university I'm happily uploading pictures of my Catwoman costume on deviantArt... I wish I was major in procrastination. I'd be a straight "A" student. Haha. Back to cosplay though.

I was absolutely overwhelmed by Franky-Chan's event gallery this time. All the pictures he took of my fellow Gotham City Sirens and me turned out amazingly. The one you can see above is my favourite, I think. I especially like the way the gem, my make-up and my eyes came out.

Here comes the first picture of my Catwoman costume which I wore at the bookfair in Leipzig past weekend.
I promised to write a proper comment yesterday - so here it comes!

Naraku, Lie and I decided to cosplay the Gotham City Sirens on our car ride home from Connichi back in September 2011. It was quickly decided who was supposed to cosplay as which character, so Lie went for Harley Quinn, Naraku went for Poison Ivy and I went for Catwoman.

Since we wanted our costumes to look as professional and realistic as possible we ordered black and red vinyl from an American online store. The material was rather expensive, but most definitely worth the money.

Making the costume took me about one week in total. I made every piece of it myself: The suit, the cap, the gloves, the belt - even the goggles. (The goggles are made from KobraCast 4 Art, crafting foam and Wobrla's Finest Art) The only pieces I bought were the boots which I painted with black gloss paint and to which I added Selina's typical buckles.

Besides minor flaws I'm rather satisfied with the way this costume turned out. Parts I would like to revise are the cowl, the goggles and the belt. I wonder if anybody would be interested in buying a "Catwoman: Cowl & Goggles" set?

Since people keep asking me to upload more pictures of my Batgirl costume I'm happy to be able to accommodate their request this time. ;D
While skimming through my gallery I was pretty surprised to notice that I hadn't uploaded this picture. I thought I had posted it a long time ago already. But well, here it is.

Like the majority of my Batgirl pictures it was taken during a shooting with one of my favourite photographers, Calli, back in October 2011. I really like the way it turned out.

The longer I look at pictures of this costume the more I feel the need to revise it though. Especially the shoulder-, collar- and cape-part. The fact that my throat is showing irks me too. I have to come up with something to make the whole costume look less like a costume and more like an outfit a real life superheroine would were.

ATLA: Zuko and Katara

I think this picture is what people on deviantArt consider to be old. It was taken at Dokomi in Duesseldorft in May 2011.

I'm not exactly sure what happened, but some days ago I felt like checking the Zutara-tag on Tumblr. And that is exactly how I revived my love for the show and for this pairing. Kind of. It's weird. Never mind.
Anyway I felt like uploading this picture, because it is one of my favourites out of this shooting.
I know that the whole necklace-thing doesn't make any sense with season II outfits on, but whatever... I still like it.

I am really sorry I neglected my deviantArt account this much lately, but my internship, university homework and costume making kept me terribly busy. I also caught a cold which put me out of action for almost one week.
I am glad I have almost recovered by now. I will do my best to be more active again in future.

Unfortunately I have to say that I will most likely not be able to present pictures of new costumes until March. My internship ends next week and there is a 30-page term paper to write. I also have to arrange my schedule for the next semester, etc.
I am planning to debut two new costumes at the bookfair in Leipzig. One of them (Ion Fortuna from Trinity Blood) is already finished. If you are interested to see what it looks like, feel free to take a look at my Facebook Account!
The second costume I will debut is Selina Kyle / Catwomans outfit from Batman: Hush. The suit is almost finished, only the mask, the belt, the goggles and alterations concerning the boots are left to make. Up to this point I am still confident to make it in time. Alright, guys. This is the last picture of a superhero costume I will post in a while.
Cosplay is a hobby I want to express my versatility with. Therefore I would like to show that Im also able to portrait characters besides vigilantes in skin-tight suits. Please dont get me wrong I love superheroes and comics, and I especially love Stephanie Brown, but I need some variation once in a while.
Taking a look at my deviantArt gallery I noticed that all pictures look rather dark and cold compared to the pictures I uploaded in 2011. Thats why I strongly feel like making a colourful costume again and taking some pictures out in the sun as soon as winter is over. Feel free to suggest characters if you like to.

This time there isnt much to say about the costume, I guess. I think its a pity the colours dont come out the way they are supposed to come out in this picture. In the comics Stephanie always mentions her suit is not purple but eggplant. Consequently it was really important for me to get hold of eggplant-coloured fabric for this costume. The WIP picture ([link]) shows the actual colour of my suit and cape which you cannot see in the pictures I uploaded here.

By the way this is one of my favourite photographs out of this series. I like the location and the dark atmosphere of the picture in general. I think it suits the original series pretty well.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentleman!
How are you? I hope you are all doing well!
I just came back from a business trip to Switzerland. Gosh, Im still tired. I definitely need a day off. I really like my internship at the agency, but Im glad it is slowly coming to an end.

Usually it is pretty much unlike me to upload two pictures in a row and to just copy and paste the text into both descriptions, but this is an exception! The picture with the Spoiler mask on shows what the outfit of the character originally looks like. The picture without the mask shows what the girl underneath the mask looks like.
Another reason I also upladed the picture without the mask on is that you can see the details of the costume underneath the cape much better.

Compared to my Batgirl costume and Miss Martians stealth suit, Spoilers outfit was really easy to sew. Having made two full-body suits before Spoilers eggplant attire was no challenge for me anymore. The cape was no challenge either.
The utility belt and the full face mask were tricky to make though. It took me about three or four tries until I had finished a basic form of the mask which fitted my face properly. Afterwards I started researching material I could use for the eye area.
My Spoiler mask was made out of black spandex. (Leftovers of Miss Martians black stealth suit.) Consequently I also needed flexible fabric to fill the eye holes with. It also had to be thin enough to be able to see through. Thats why I decided to go for the type of fabric fine pantihoses are made of. (I hope thats the right term.)
After I had finished the black of the mask I cut out small pieces out of white pantihoses/leggings I had purchased at our local supermarket, placed them right under the eye holes and stitched them to the fabric. Im really happy the way the mask turned out, it is anything but comfortable to wear though. It is really difficult to breath underneath and seeing through the fabric almost impossible. I wonder if the character designer of this outfit has ever tried wearing such a mask
The most difficult part about the utility belt was casting the small grey buckles out of resin. I had never worked with resin before. After listening to a friends experiences and reading a lot of tutorials I felt like giving it a try though.
The buckles did not turn out perfectly, but that is one of the small details Im willing to overlook. At least this time. Im convinced my further resin projects will turn out much better.
All in all Im satisfied with this costume. It was cheap to make (about 36.00 EUR in total), looks good on pictures and is comfortable to wear. I hope you like is as much as I do! :3

No need to say something - we know the picture and the pose don't make any sense. It was only some kind of fun picture that turned out way better than we expected.
When we were on location my photographer - Calli - was like: "Hey, look! There's this notch in the wall! Try posing in it!"
All of a sudden a lot of pictures of famous actors, musicians and other artists posing in boxes came to my mind - and that's why I decided to try it as well.
So please take this picture as some kind of beauty- instead of a serious In-character-picture, please.

Once again I want to point out that I am really happy about the way this costume turned out. It was definitely the right decision to unstitch my old pleated skirt.
I don't think I will wear it on any convention though. It's nice to wear, but rather unspectacular.

I wish you all a HAPPY - belated - NEW YEAR 2012!
I hope you were all able to enjoy your holidays and had a lot of fun on New Year's Eve. Are you still living accordingly to your New Year's Resolutions? I have to admit that I didn't make any for thist year... ;D

In my latest poll I asked you pictures of which costume you would like to see next. The poll was closed on January 12th, 09:00 pm.
As you can see the majority of participants voted for Stephanie Brown's St. Hadrian's school uniform as seen in the latest issue of Batman Inc. - Leviathan Strikes.

At this point I have to concede that it took me a while until I really started to like the recent chapter of Batman Inc., Stephanie's school uniform was love at first sight though.
Making the outfit was easy and took me 1 1/2 days at the maximum. The blouse, the slipover, the shoes and the overknee socks were parts I already had in stock - the tie and the skirt were the only parts I had to sew.
For the grey skirt I unstitched the first pleated skirt I ever made. It looked horrible, because I had absolutely no clue how to make a proper pleated skirt back in 2006.
I'm happy how the skirt for this outfit turned out... It's comfortable to wear and flatters the shape of my body, I think. About the tie isn't much to say, I guess. I like making and wearing them.

It's a real pity you cannot see more of the location in this picture. We took the pictures near the ruin of the so-called St. Barbara church in Karlsberg/Langensteinbach, Germany.
I hope I will find the possibility to go there again - to take pictures of another costume or something.

Aigue-Marine: Cosplay of 2011

Wow... I cannot believe 2011 is over already. This year passed by so fast. The fact that tonight's New Year's Eve feels pretty much surreal to me.

My past year was filled with many ups and downs: On the one hand I grew apart of some people and messed up some of my exams at university, I gave up huge parts of my private life to impress my employer and I was pursued by bad luck when it came to ordering materials and wigs for cosplay online...
On the other hand I got in touch with the people I grew apart with again and did well at university. I found new friends from all over the world, I discovered Tumblr, I got into comics, I finished nine lovely costumes, I attended my first convention abroad, I got featured in a cosplay calendar, I got an incredibly huge amount of positive feedback and received even lovely messages from one of DC's writers and one of DC's pencilers.
All things considered it sounds like I had a good year, doesn't it?

As I already mentioned I finished nine costumes this year. That is no exceptionally huge number - keeping the fact in mind that I also have my studies and an internship to concentrate on I'm happy though.
Some of my costumes have minor flaws - I'm not happy with Shiemi's, Luna's and Wendy's wigs for example and I could have done better on some parts of my Batgirl and Miss Martian stealth outfit too, but well... Generally speaking I'm content with the costumes I accomplished this year.
Furthermore being a cosplayer would be really boring if I had nothing to get better at, right?

In 2012 I want to focus on improving my crafting and wig-styling skills. It is my aim to work with materials I have never worked with before. I will also try to show different facial expressions and dynamic poses in my pictures.

First of all: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hope you are all having a quiet, relaxing and nice time with your loved ones!
I spent the past two days with my family and we did absolutely nothing besides eating, drinking whine and playing board games. I also got some really lovely presents such as my own copy of Batman: Hush and a DVD of one of my favourite movies Midnight in Paris. Im happy and I feel much more at ease with myself compared to some days ago. I needed this break badly.

But now on to the picture and the costume itself
I honestly cannot believe we took this picture in the middle of December. I mean, look at the background. Look at the colours of the plants and the lightning situation! It looks like we took it back in October.
As I already wrote in the comment of the first picture of Wendy I uploaded the other day I am really happy about the way all photos of this shooting turned out. Even the wig which is the part of the costume I like the least looks alright in here.
I hope youre not tired of seeing pictures of this costume already. Therere a lot more to come! Stay tuned!

Good Afternoon!! People, how are you? There is only one day left till Christmas. Are you already looking forward to the Christmas tree, Christmas lunch/dinner and the presents you will receive?
Surprisingly I dont feel Christmas-sy at all, but that is a point I will elaborate on another social media platform.

You know, normally Im really fast when it comes to updating my account with new pictures of my latest costumes, but this time it is different. On the one hand I have been feeling terribly lethargic this week which is pretty much unlike me. Normally Im a really lively, cheerful and motivated person. On the other hand I simply could not decide which picture to upload because ALL pictures we took during YukiCon 2011 in Stuttgart, Germany turned out amazingly!
When we left the tiny convention building to take pictures in the almost shabby backyard we would have never expected everything to work out this well. The lighting situation was just perfect with a beautiful golden light of a declining winter sun and I had absolutely no trouble posing in the costume I wore.
All shootings I did in the past months were about looking good in skin-tight suits. Everybody who has worn such a costume before knows that posing in such outfits is really difficult. Consequently I really enjoyed that it wasnt necessary to suck my stomach in all the time
Its been a while since I have been so happy and satisfied about the results of a photo shooting. LadyCallisto is a gorgeous photographer! And shes amazing at editing too. I am so glad to have her!

Speaking about the costume itself Id say that Im about 85% satisfied with the way it turned out. The dress could be a little bit tighter around the underbust, but well I still like it. Compared to my recent costumes (Batgirl and Miss Martian for example) it is really comfortable and can be worn in both summer and winter.
The part of the costume Im the least satisfied with is the wig. I am extremely proud about the ponytail, but adding corkscrew curls to the strands of the ponytail was almost impossible. I tried every possible technique I found in tutorials on the internet hot water, hair spray and a hair dryer, even glue it didnt work out. As soon as I removed the curlers the curls were gone.
During my holidays I will try to wash out the hairspray and glue and add new corkscrew curls to the wig again. That is the only part of the costume I really want to revise.
Generally speaking Im content with the costume and especially the pictures though.

P.S.: I will upload a lot of pictures of this costume in the next days. There are so many I would like to share!! I just thought it would be better to start with a full-body shot instead of a portrait. You can see much more of the actual costume in this picture.

YJ: Miss Martian III

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen!
I promised to write an elaborate comment yesterday - so here it is.

As you can see this the second result of the Miss Martian photo shooting we did last weekend. We actually wanted to take pictures in a huge and futuristic parking block near the new fairground of Stuttgart, unfortunately we had to realize the block was closed when we arrived there. Therefore we had to take pictures out in the cold around the building. The wind was really, really strong that day... You cannot imagine how cold it was. I wore basically nothing besides this super-thin spandex-suit. Brrr. I prefer shootings in summer or inside a building.

At this point I could also tell you a bit about the costume itself, couldn't I?
Finishing this costume took me about one week in total. It was the first fullbody suit ever made. It was also the first time I worked with spandex.
To my very surprise creating the pattern of the suit wasn't as difficult as I had imagined it to be. I am very happy I rose to this challenge. A pattern for a bodysuit comes in really handy regarding the fact that I am planning to cosplay more superheroes and superheroines in future. ; )

And to answer one of my "F.A.Q.'s" right away:

YJ: Miss Martian II

My photographer was so incredibly fast at editing the pictures of today's photoshooting I can hardly believe it!

Alright! As I already mentioned I finished Miss Martian's second outfit about one month ago already. Unfortunately not many pictures were taken at the convention I debuted it at (J-PopCon in Kopenhagen). That's why I asked my friend Calli to take some proper photos of me. I'm really happy about the result!

And to answer one of my "F.A.Q.'s" right away:

I'm glad you found your way to the artist's comment of my DEVIATION NO. 100!!! ♥♥♥
When I created this accound, like, 4 years ago I never thought I would come this far and find so many amazing artists and friends here! Thank you so much for your support and feedback!

Besides being a member of deviantArt for about 4 years now I was finally able to attend my first convention abroad! I spend past weekend at the Copenhagen, Denmark, where J-PopCon took place.
The convention and especially the people I met there were gorgeous! I had so much fun and I'd love to visit Denmark again!
Many thanks to all people I was able to meet and talk to past weekend! You were all so nice and it was a pleasure to mett you! You made my weekend!!

I also had the chance to do a great photoshooting with Ali Jehad this weekend. I wore my Batgirl costume for the shoot.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
None of my costumes would suit this day of the year better! That's why I decided to upload another picture of my Stephanie Brown!Batgirl costume today!

This picture was taken at Bookfair 2011 in Frankfurt, Germany. It was definitely one of the best events I attended in costume this year. I still can't believe how many people approached me to ask for a picture or to simply talk to me.
The amount of positive feedback I received so far is overwhelming. I'm so happy and grateful you can't even imagine..! Once again: Thank you so much!!

As you can see my Batgirl costume is finally finished and here is the first result of the photo shooting we did today! I am really, really happy about the way this picture (and many pictures more) turned out! I especially love the colours of the photo in here.

So here's another deviation of one of my latest costumes - Shiemi Moriyama from Ao no Exorcist.

I know the costume doesn't look difficult, but it was one of the hardest ones I ever made.
Sewing the kimono was easy, the obi was easy too, but dying and painting the fabric was a pain. Especially when you're not good at drawing. And I'm not good at drawing at all.
Painting all the butterflies onto the fabric took me about a week, but it was definitely worth it. I like the way the whole costume turned out. : )
Everything looks nice and neat and it's really comfortable to wear.

I will wear this costume again in November. Until then I have to look for another wig which looks more Shiemi-like.

Batgirl: Stephanie Brown

Here's a picture of my latest ~~unfinished~~ costume~! Take this deviation as some kind of... preview. It's the third Batgirl Stephanie Brown from the DC Batgirl series.
I spent quite a lot of time collecting material and working on this costume, I'm not content with the way it turned out though. The fabric of the cape and the suit has different shades of purple, the collar looks missing and worst of all the cowl is missing!
I will revise this costume as soon as I find time. I love Stephanie a lot and I really want this cosplay to be perfect. ♥
