Suzume Shindo, for the latest set Coils of Madness. Art was spoiled today so I can post her! She is a duelist of the Sparrow Clan, a minor clan allied with the Crane Clan (woo!). This is the first samurai I've gotten in L5R so far so I was finally able to use my Japanese armor reference book from Osakajo. yay!

L5R- Daidoji Marketplace

Another Legend of the Five Rings card! This one is from Gempukku Edition, where I think there were a very small number of new cards so I was lucky to get this one. This is the Crane Clan marketplace, and it was another very scary card for me! I am terrible at cityscapes usually so this is a slightly better than normal outcome for me (there are still many, many things to fix). Hopefully this looks ok! Finished it in June, it just released about a month ago.

This is another Legend of the Five Rings card. This is character is from my first card ever! I was so happy to get this version of her. It took forever to get the pose right, I was so nervous about not making her cool enough. Now she is a much more wise and powerful shugenja, and she also wears the mantle of the Jade Champion.

This was something done for fun on conceptart.org.The theme is "Venetian Queen's Floating Palace" so this is my take:

It was a good thing the Queen's new palace floated above her "simple people". Because if the most expensive creation in history ever sunk to the earth, her people would ensure she'd never set foot on the ground again.

Viking assault on the Twin Cities- GP Minneapolis

This is the playmat for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering tournament, the Grand Prix Minneapolis in May.

The towers are actual towers from St. Paul and Minneapolis and the river between them the Mississippi... and they're being attacked by vikings. oh Minnesota

The first 750 players who attend will get this playmat! They'll definitely run out so get there early.

The 2nd Legend of the Five Rings card I got to do for Emperor Edition! This is a Crane Artisan with the soul of Kakita Ariteko. Players seemed to dig this card based on the card text which is good!

This was super fun to draw. I hope I can keep doing L5R!

I started this in speed painting class. The teacher handed out a photo reference of mountains to base the piece on, so I changed the rock formations to towers carved out of rock.

Yay I finally got to do a large painting for my company! WOOOOO! This is the splashscreen for Parallel Kingdom's new age (expansion), the Age of Thrones. With this expansion players can now create kingdoms and wage war with other kingdoms. PK's signature icon is a flag, since you can claim real-world territory with flags. So in this pic there is a Kingdom and an army moving in to attack... wonder what will happen?

Thought I'd put a sort of spin on the "old wizard" motif by making a younger sorcerer who dons the old pointed hat and already has white hair. Maybe from too much magic use?

Thanks to my handsome boyfriend for modeling for me. The title references how he'll call you what color deck you are playing in Magic followed by "Mage". So maybe he's casting Cancel or something ;D

Goddess of Spring

This was originally a commission from a friend, who wanted 3 pieces- all based around The Goddess in different forms: Spring, Summer, and Winter. This is her as a young lady, harvesting the beauty of springtime.

It's pretty sad that I started and mostly finished this piece about 6 months ago, thinking it was weird to be working on a piece devoted to spring when it was fall outside. Well, now it IS spring and I finally finish it! yaaay!

I'm not sure if I'll have much time to work on the other pieces, but we'll see...

Uriel is one of the seven Archangels. Uriel is referred to as the "Fire of God" and is sometimes referenced as the angel who cast Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden with a sword of fire. Uriel is also known as the angel of vengeance and enacts god's holy will through force.

I made Uriel female with a purple sword with glitter for extra fabulous times.

Athena is the goddess of war and battle. She is also the goddess of wisdom. She is usually seen with a spear and the shield given to her by Zeus, with the head of Medusa at its center (I didn't paint it since you can't see it with this pose, ahahahahhaa!).
