Well, and her impish disposition.         <media:copyright url="http://artistefish.deviantart.com">Copyright 2013 ~ArtisteFish</media:copyright>            <media:description type="html"><![CDATA[ My original character "Ba-Pef" whom I created for my original story/animated short series "Interplanetary ART".<br /><br />He's based on an ancient Egyptian god of pain and suffering in the underworld, who was so feared that he was never really referred to by name, since Ba-Pef only means an ambiguous "That soul".<br />He's impossible to find information on because he's barely known and wasn't around in their mythology for long, but that works perfectly for me and my story cuz I can take a bunch of liberties with the character.<br />In my series, ancient gods and deities and whatnot were actually beings from other planets with intense psychic and psychological mind powers which they used to control people on Earth. I had that idea before Ancient Aliens ever aired. The bums.<br /><br />Anyways, Ba-Pef's the Tactical and Defense Expert on the spaceship and is the one in charge when enemies show up, but he also has a bit of a vendetta against the alien forces trying to stop he and the IART crew, so that gets in the way of his work sometimes.<br />I always think of him as sort of a player, but more in the style of Brock from Pokemon because he never has any success... which is due to the fact that he loves macabre, scary, gory things and doesn't even try to hide it. Any girls interested in his face quickly run screaming once he starts talking. He's not very well known, so I pretty much created his character myself, using what little info I could find.<br />It's been a while since I did any art (what can I say, it's summer break) but I was actually struck by some inspiration today after going to the library and finding some books on mythology. Those always do the trick.<br />And please, don't judge my Egyptian heiroglyphs. So I doodle and practice shading with highlighters.<br />I'm actually quite attached to this piece because I did it at the end of the tutoring day, and then left it on the table when I closed up the room for the day. It was gone when I came back in the next week, but then a couple days later one of the other tutors asked if I was missing a drawing, and lo and behold he had found it, figured it was mine, and saved it!!! So I got it back!!!!!!! I was SO HAPPY!!! <img src="http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/biggrin.gif" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/><br />So I'm posting it. Seriously, it did.<br />I only had a broom and a box to fight it with, but I still managed to eventually trap it under a box.<br />My dad took it out back when he got home later. <img src="http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/wink.gif" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" title=";) (Wink)"/><br /><br />But I was quite proud of myself anyways, so I recreated the scene in illustrated form. Basically, she's part of the 'Interplanetary Alien Recovery Team', that goes from planet to planet finding and returning lost creatures and such to where they belong. As shown in my short film, this includes creatures such as The Loch Ness Monster. <img src="http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/winkrazz.gif" width="15" height="15" alt=";P" title="Wink/Razz"/><br />This piece from my sketchbook was just to work out what her 'Alien uniform' would look like. Not pictured here, but shown in my short, is the uniform's helmet, which is fashioned after the stereotypical 'alien head' - you know, oval, with a pointy chin and big eyes. They're characters from two short animations I've done (which can be found on YouTube: one of them is titled just "Leo and Dee", so it's easy to find), and they're part of a larger story that I've been working on for years. <br />I originally drew this in pencil to use on my blog, and then *months* later I got around to coloring it in Corel Paintshop with my drawing tablet. I purposely tried to give the characters more of a "flat" look through the coloring in order to make them seem even more like "old-school cartoons". Which I love. The background I wasn't really concerned about, as you can probably tell.
