hope this inspires some of you to keep going, or some of you to start, it will be even better if more of you, my dA friends, stop making excuses saying you werent born with the ability to make your dreams come true. the only thing holding you back is yourself. drawing is but a skill which we learn through lots of practice, determination, observation and patience. if you also have the undenied passion for it, you may see yourself getting further than others.

it also helps if you're able to be honest with dissecting your own work. not in a self deprecating way, but in a logical level headed way.

follow up : talent follow upso after a great many debates, here is what i am seeing.
there are 4 types of people responding.
1. the hard working artist agrees, they understand the time they have put into it, and in turn they are seeing the improvement they desire. they study the right things, like life, to understand how things work. they fight being completely self indulgent 100% of the time so they can better learn the skills they need.
2. the casual artist who doesnt really agree because they see somebody better, they are happy with what they can do and know they can be better, but they compare themselves to others too often.
3. the lazy fuck that thinks they must not be talented because they dont put in much time. and since they are so frustrated with seeing how great others are, they must not be talented while the other person is.

EDIT : i dont post multiple versions for your approval, folks. i really dont give a shit "which one is better". clients request multiple versions because each version has a limited print run, some more limited than others for collectors. when i post multiple versions its likely ALL OF THEM MADE IT TO PRINT. i also didnt pop her tits out on one version because it suited me. it was also at the request of the clients. often they want multiple versions, each one as different as possible.

violet is the one in red, and she happens to be the one in black's daughter. i did them about the same age since present day calie has white hair and wears mom brand jeans. ]]> calie and violet from zenescope's wonderland series.
