This is actually really old and was a pre-instructional piece from the beginning of sophomore year (aka over a year ago). @n@ I just realized I never submitted it here.

2011 Summary of art

yeeeey first full year with a working tablet! c:
This year I think I improved a lot with composition, skin tones, colors, and getting in the habit of actually zooming in.

January- First started painterly-style digital painting. I broke my dominant arm at the end of this month :C
February- couldn't paint much because my arm was broken, but once I got a more mobile brace I went back to painting alternating arms.
March- Did drawings for Japan commissions to raise money for the earthquake victims.
April- moar drawings for Japan commissions
May- Back to normal art! 'u' I got a lot better at making skin tones.
June- the infamous "draw this again" meme. >,>
July- Painted nonstop. Got on Gaia.
August- Did a bunch of Gaia commissions for exorbitant amounts of gaia money.
September- School started and now all of my paintings are for school. ;~;
October- Started to incorporate deeper meanings into my art to try to appeal to the stupid A/P judges.
November- Lots more traditional shit done in my sketchbook, which was then stolen. T^T
December- Turned 16 this month and now I feel old. >,>;;

Yet she opened her heart anyway.

Another piece for my concentration "childhood fantasies." I wanted to portray how, as a child, I believed that everyone lived forever. In Egyptian culture poppies are a symbol of eternal life, and I subtlety suggested the "fountain of youth" with the pattern on the bottom.

dhsjkfhksdfhjkdsh photoshop froze at least 15 times while I was painting this. B|

Old people are surprisingly fun to paint.

Finished breadth piece for AP test. Ill probably end up adding more to the flower faces later, but its due tomorrow so I cant at the moment. o^o;
With this piece I was trying to convey the epitome of a nightmare with jarring colors, a desolate landscape with sealed exits, and dark shadows. I tried to capture some of the most common types of nightmares: stress induced, those ones where you're in your underwear in public (or worse), when a bunch of creatures are about to kill and eat you, etc.

making and selling cashmere dolls to raise money for my SAIC pre-college fund~
The white one (made out of fleece, though) is named Nessa, the pink one is Humphrey, and the blue one is Caroline. u

I'll be opening an Stsy shop soon once I accumulate enough dolls.
Each one will cost anywhere from $10-30 depending on the difficulty of the design and the materials used (I have to murder a lot of cashmere sweaters for this merp).

I vary the colors a lot if they're duller/brighter than these base ones

This is what I drew for 3 hours before I fainted on the floor because they showed this really bloody video with people crying and dead everywhere so you wouldn't text and drive. ._.
