The glare from a light tried to ruin it, but I added some contrast and tried to use it to my advantage. Not sure if it really worked. Might have to try something like this again next time we go back

Sorry about the big black triangle in the upper right (that's the dang overhanging roof). It's resolution is poor. It's grainy. I'm posting this simply because it's the closest thing we had to a close-range tornado this year. Spotted this funnel reaching 3/4ths of the way to the ground as we were driving away from the storm. This year, we nailed all the good storm structure days, but we missed the big tornado days. Maybe we'll make up for that next year

Chris and I couldn't believe this when we saw it. By far the largest eagle we've ever seen (and it's not even fully mature!). It stood nearly 3 feet tall, by our estimate. In this shot, he's watching a seagull as it flies close to his tree. Had he flown any closer, the man-eagle probably would have attacked and had himself a meal. He left his tree later, but we weren't around to see it. My guess is that he picked off a small child and returned to a more desolate part of the reserve

This isn't exactly a "National Geographic" shot, I really just took it to document the sighting and portray some of the difficulties of shooting birds (branches and harsh lighting)

If you didn't notice, I saturated the colors a bit in the image I posted in my gallery. Figured I'd post the original to show you all that the scene that I saw was a beautiful scene, without the usual editing

This storm had a cycle, fluctuating between weak and strong. It was severe when it moved through our area, then weakened. When this was taken, it was strengthening again (I saw a few strikes of lightning waaaay off in the distance, but didn't photograph any of it). This was taken on the soccer field by the park, looking towards a hill with some pretty sweet clouds above.
Editing: clarified the clouds and added a touch of vignetting.
