a lot of people ask why i sometimes draw Percy so much taller than Annabeth. it's cause i normally draw them when they're much older, after the series. they're only 14 here, so i figured Percy's only just starting to catch up to Annabeth in terms of height.

this had been sitting on my desk FOREVER. i finally got around to finishing it last night and i really enjoyed coloring the rest. it's rather.. simple, but that's always been my taste.

i can't wait for season 2 of New Girl!! i'm in love with the characters and the whole dynamic of the show- very entertaining. in the meantime, i'll dress them up in ironic group costumes.

BUT SERIOUSLY NOW, i just watched this movie and dear lord, that little boy can act. anytime he cried or teared up, i would actually say out loud, "awww, poor baby! don't cryyyy!" you should know i watched it alone. haha but really, i wanted to cry whenever he was sad.

trying to get a better grasp of color theory. i've always struggled with color... whenever i color a background, intending to render it fairly realistically but without a reference, it always ends up exaggerated and more whimsical than i expect. anyway, i used Prismacolor pencils, if you're wondering.

oh my gosh, the Decemberists' newest album, The King Is Dead, is a MASTERPIECE OF MUSIC. i don't know what took me so long to download the rest.

anyway, this song from their album came on as i colored this particular drawing, and Clare can be witness to my sudden connection between the lyrics and this couple. i genuinely shouted out and tears came to my eyes.

i've heard my art consists of depth-less, scratchy, unfinished sketches that show my lack of commitment and heart.

but if this doesn't prove that idea wrong, along with every drawing i ever make, from scrap to original concept art to completely colored fanart, i don't know what will...

i pour my heart into my drawings, no matter what the subject is. and i happen to find inspiration in good story-telling.

the plan was, which I really hope I fulfilled, is that the reader, like Harry, would gradually discover Ginny as pretty much the ideal girl for Harry. Shes tough, not in an unpleasant way, but shes gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because hes a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways.
