Navi Onesie

Oh Navi...you've become such a punching bag of the Zelda series and, well....I couldn't stop myself from adding a little bit on as well.

Inspired by the little blue fairy that everyone loves to hate, I decided to make a baby onesie with her most famous saying on it. Why a baby onesie? If you have to ask this question you've clearly not been around many babies.

Custom pattern designed by me and fits well on any children's onesie/shirt from 12m up to age 3-4T.

Mario Kart Onesie

Another onesie done for my craft swap partner. I did a set of three for them in the end (in various sizes) and all Mario themed. The last one being [link]">one I'd done for my nephew a few years back. This was a spur of the moment decision to design as I really wanted each one to be different. Inspiration came from cruising the Mario series game list. I enjoy it much more than I thought I was going to.

Final Boss Stitch: Kefka

Finally. I finally took a day for myself to finish this piece after 4 years, and I really could not be happier with it. An image of just the finished stitching can still be found here in my gallery, but even then this was what I always wanted to do with it.

The main difference between to two of course being that here, the background has been painted on with watercolor paints (to keep the fabric flexible) in varying layers and shades of yellow. It really has a depth effect in the end with the stitching over top that I hadn't even foreseen when I decided to do this.

Really, there just are not enough words to describe how much I love the result of this piece.

Child's Play Stitching - Chrono Trigger Square

Hey! Cross stitching! You know, that other craft I do...sometimes. XP

So the video game crafting site that I'm a member of, Sprite Stitch, submitted a quilt to the wonderful Child's Play fundraiser last year and I was very sad that I didn't have the time to make a square to contribute to it. Well, not so this year! I started early and made sure to snag one of my all time favorite games Chrono Trigger.

This square is 96x96 (approx 4.5") and while it does contain several thousand stitches, the hardest part was really trying to pick just one iconic scene. There are just too many! I went with the battle against the dragon tank in the end as it happens early on in the game (so no spoilers...if that still applies after almost 15 years) and something that I remember leaving an impression on me during my first play through all those years ago.

I'll be making a Chrono Cross square as well, but if you like mine, please do go and check out the other squares my fellow forum members are making! You'll find them in the Charity Quilt thread.

Made on 16ct white Adia fabric with 2 strands together of embroidery floss for stitching.

Okami Bookmark - Amaterasu

Pattern for this lovely bookmark was acquired at on my favorite forum: Sprite Stitch and was designed by the talented

This was one of two Okami things I made my very good friend for Christmas this year and I was so glad she liked it.

Nothing new here as far as technique. Pattern is stitched on 28ct fabric and includes full, half, quarter and back stitches. I wasn't sure how most people cover the backs of their stitched bookmarks but I like covering my open (aka not framed) pieces with a fabric backing. I thought this fiery cloth I had hanging around fit rather well for that need.

Time: Unkown (Been working on it off and on for ages) but if I had to guess....no more than a week

Companion Cube Cross-stitch

Another piece made as a gift for my fiancee (why yes, this is a reoccurring problem I have, how did you ever guess? XD) almost 3 years ago now.

He's a huge Portal fan and as a birthday gift I made him a custom cross-stitch piece with the companion cube and the poem about it from the first Portal game. The piece came out alright I think, though I've never been completely happy with how the hearts look on the cube. I still it looks the best when viewed form a distance, but that's common with most cross-stitch pieces and especially ones adapted from a CGI picture.

Time: Ummm...don't remember anymore...maybe like....10 hours? Sure, we'll go with that

Wolf's Rain Cross-Stitch

From the anime Wolf's Rain comes a cross-stitch design made as a gift for my friend Whitewolf. ^_^ Done on 22 count adia fabric. Pattern obtained from littlemojo's pattern site which is sadly non-operational.

Video Game Alphabet - A,B,C

Well I've done it.

I finally started working on the letters from my video game alphabet pattern ([link]). Here we see the first three letters done and mounted, but not yet framed as I'm not quite sure what frame I want to use.

Hyrule Crest Clock

The Legend on Zelda series has always been one of my favorite gaming series. It's one of the reasons why you'll see many of my projects here are from it.

I've had the idea for this particular piece for many months and finally decided to go ahead and make it before my shirt, bearing the background design seen here, became completely worn out. The pattern (including the numbers) were designed by myself and is one of the few video game based patterns to incorporate such large amount of back-stitching. (Most pattern designers seem to avoid it like the plague for some reason...)

Image is cross-stitched on 18 count Lt. Oatmeal fabric and mounted on adhesive cardboard. Clock was originally purchased from IKEA and has been spray painted to look like stone (second had was also removed as you may notice since I didn't like it).

Materials: Fabric, embroidery floss, clock, spray paint, cardboard.
Time: Not including dry times for the clock or readjustment for thickness - Approx. 2 Days

Kefka - Cross-stitch

Kefka from Final Fantasy 6! Ah, one of my all time favorite RPGs and Final Fantasy games. Shown here in his final boss form, I've also embroidered on my favorite quote of his from the beginning of the final battle against him. ^_^ Pattern created by me, based off the original SNES sprite.

Chocobo Onesie

Commission for a friend of my brother's who is giving it as a gift to a friend of hers. At least I think that's the connection...

Either way, here is my newest onesie. All that was asked of me was to make one with a chocobo on it. Originally I was going to use the sprites from FF6, but then I found this GBA one and thought it to be WAAAYY too freaking adorable! ^_^ I've started using three strands of thread now for these and I think it gives the stitching a fuller look. Ugh, 14 is just soo huge...

As no company seems to want to sell solid color onesies anymore, I am now forced to dye them myself. I believe this one was called 'Golden Rod' *shrugs*. Turned out nice and uniform though, and I have no idea way the threading did not dye as well. Doesn't look horrible, but I'll have to try the Gerber brand next time and see if theirs does.

Super Mario World Magnets

Obviously inspired by the Pokemon Badge Magnets I did a few weeks ago, here you see common items and objects from Super Mario World for the SNES. Love that game. Pokemon Badge Magnets

So I've been playing Pokemon recently and got frustrated with all the crochet work I've been doing as well, so I took a night off to make these. I had the magnets left over from when I made the Katamari Ball so they're a bit thicker then I would like, but have a very strong pull to them instead. ^_^ I felt it was an alright compromise.

Badges aren't put in any proper order for the picture since I just put them all together to take the picture. Cross-stitch was mounted with a button maker after I removed the pins.

I enjoyed the original pokemon set the most so, kanto set of badges were obviously the first on my list. ^_^

Jack Skellington T-Shirt

I absolutely love the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. So it wasn't going to be long before I made something from it. The picture for this is horrible and I apologize profusely for it. The original image/pixelization is from the game Kingdom Hearts and the font I made up myself. The shirt is a baby doll style cut. My sister has already received several comments of jealously upon wearing it. ^_^

Zelda themed bookmark. All text has been converted into in game Hylian language via a download able font. Under each piece of the Triforce it says their respective type (Power, Courage, Wisdom, Triforce). The edging has a quote about the Triforce from Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Space Invaders Baby Towel

Another piece I did as a gift for my nephew. One of four Baby Spit Up Towels I embroidered. This one obviously designed after the classic game Space Invaders. It wasn't until after I made it that I realized the saying had a sort of double meaning. Oh well, just made it cuter really. Done in counted cross-stitch.
