....Okay so nothing does happen when you press play XD This is a conceptual drawing about peoples willingness to listen, and feeling muted when people don't want to do so. So good job if you did click, you would have made a girl happier

The concept evolved from experiences of mine. If I could animate, when you pressed play, I'd make her take a deep breath, cast a relieved smile and say "thank you" Then she'd talk to you more if you were kind enough to listen.

Edit: Perhaps I made this a little too convincing, hehe

School occupies a strange place in my mind. It wasn't so long ago, but when I look back it seems so blurry. I remember being the weird kid, the awkward girl, who would run around with the boys. I was bullied a lot, sometimes it hurt, but mostly it didn't. I relised people would always judge, and knew it's you who has to be happy with yourself, you shouldn't change to please them; I noticed the things people would tease me about were the things they were insecure about in themselves. The most valuable lessons I learned weren't in the classroom. I got very comfortable with my own company

My art teacher told me "Cartoons are not art" so I drew in my spare time and let myself indulge in a world all my own.

This is a two parter drawing.. please expect the next installment soon

I wanted to do a hopeful piece; as recently we had some crappy news from our landlord (basically he's trying to con us) but it really made me realise how lucky I am, and how many things this guy can't take away, it put things into perspective, and after the initial shock I found myself suprisingly content. Sequel to:

Her wish was granted: to be human. To be more than a doll and plastic parts. Suddenly she was flesh and blood, laughter and guilt.

It didn't take long for the wrong people to notice her. Something so pristine, untouched, unspoiled, there was something so unhuman in her new found humanity.
They took her in and started the tests. She appeared to be perfect, her cells showed no signs of age, they thought she could be the cure, the cure for humanity.
She didn't speak of her past life, though it was written on her arm; in a tattoo which used to be a Makers Mark printed inside her hollow arm. They never could explain it.
They used her for years, her 'childhood' spent in a cell.
Her freedom won from the strangest of places, when they had exhausted all the tests, when they realise she was just human after all.
They dump her outside. Discarded for being only human.

Abandoned but free. Her humanity is a blessing and a curse... what will she do now?

After note: Her wound is self inflicted, hoping to rid herself of the mark that she's different, she takes the physical pain to try and remove the emotional pain...

I decided to do this meme as this year has been a very important one for me, this is dedicated to all you who made this year possible! It's been an absolute whirlwind, I've travel so much and met so many wonderful people, drawn a lot, but not as much as I've wanted to! XD My art has come a long way, I've studied and practiced and really enjoyed it. Yes I certainly have a comfort zone, but I do this for the love not the money or faves, enjoyment is key for me and always has been, can't beat drawing with a good brew ^-^
It's been an emotional year in my personal life as well, I have overcome depression, made some hard decisions, and grown as a person. My partner and I now rent a place together which is so good for my soul; his foot is resting on my knee as I write this. Convention season is now over and I get a bit of time to myself (and to draw)
As for my job. Well. I'm an artist. ~How did that happen!? XD I love it. It can be hard work but you guys make it worth while
