11 horizontal shots stitched. Dynamic range in infrared is quite amazing, even in this backlit situation I've had a few stops of room to increase general and local contrast. Didn't feel like removing that small lens flare though as it hardly distracts.

Now that everything is snowed again (hopefully for the last time this winter), I have some time to start the huge process of selecting and postprocessing my photos from last summer's trip to the Dolomites. I'm starting to submit those that were already processed for the 2013 calendars of course, but the rest will follow shortly as well. Hopefully.

These wild flowers had been shot at the Refugio Ra Valles, on the way down from the top of the Tofana Di Mezzo peak. These flowers were the only plants here that could survive the stone desert. I was surprised that such fragile beauty can be tougher than any pine, grass or even moss.

Btw, does anybody know the name of these yellow flowers?

This year (2012) the autumn forest shots were kinda messed up by nature in Hungary - the long and warm September-October delayed the golden part by 2 weeks to the middle of November, and the windy-rainy weather also destroyed it early, withing 1 week. Sadly I can only submit the autumn shots from last year only.

Here I tried to make the exposure as long as possible (to show the slow streaming movement of the leaves on the pond) with the perspective as wide as possible. Even here I felt how restricting the Cokin P system feels on ultrawide angles: at f/16 I'm already 2 steps into diffraction territory, but using a stronger ND filter would have required to include another filter between the lens and the filter holder, restricting the angle of view to ca. 14mm focal lenght. Yet another reason to get the Lee system... *sigh*

To get an external view on the castle itself you have to climb the surrounding hills which I didn't have the opportunity to. Had to cope with the park and the courtyard perspectives.
