Okay. I keep saying I'm gonna do this over on Twitter, and I keep forgetting to do this, so anyway.

Here's the gist-
This is a BASIC star-field I made up in Photoshop a while ago when I realized a lot of what I do involves space in the background. RATHER than CONSTANTLY eat up time making star-fields OVER AND OVER again, I made a QUICK- and I mean REALLY quick- star field. I prefer to use this versus finding a star-field online that MAY NOT be okay to use for commercial purposes.
See, the thing is that people assume "if I find it on the internet, it's okay for me to use in my projects!"
No, that's not true. JUST because you find it online doesn't mean that the artist doesn't want it to be used in commercial media- they might not even want the work used AT ALL, but because shit gets REPOSTED around the internet like CRAZY without any credits(see: Facebook photos and Tumblr posts- even deviations here), people forget that people don't want their works being used EVERYWHERE.
SO yeah. Anyway. Basic star-field background I made(using a shitload of custom brushes((90%of those are ones I made, which I will eventually make available here too when I can pack them up properly)).

Originally, Alex and I wanted to throw in some extra pages too(expand on the battle in issue 4), but time wasn't on our side.

This cover came our great, though, I think! It's a nice, bright, simple color showing Deadlock and Drift. I had fun coloring this one : D! BRIGHT COLORS EVERYWHERE!!!!

Go purchase the trade! I'm not sure what all is in it, but I changed Wing's head a bit in this book so he wouldn't look so much like Drift(from fan responses; I personally don't see Drift and Wing being confused easily).
I also corrected some minor color problems- but most of them are INCREDIBLY subtle- one of the more noticeable changes will be Tankor/Octane in a flashback(I had miscolored him as Windsweeper accidentally).

NOTE: That is NOT Carnivac getting shot. It's just a generic. The original person who it was supposed to be was found out to exist later in the timeline, so I changed the color scheme- basing his colors off of the G2 Breakdown toy's colors(not the Botcon one). I figured since G1 Breakdown exists, his G2 color scheme probably wouldn't get used outside of a random cameo- so I used them here.
This will happen several more times in the series, I'm sure- I'll throw in some random color scheme and the character might look like someone else. There are just so many Transformers and mech that it's quite possible for that to happen : ) ]]> (preview: [link] )

Originally, this was an afternoon scene, but was changed to daytime so the colors could pop more, and so we could see Deadlock in natural tones- since this is his first appearance and such. BEFORE ANYONE MENTIONS, yes, the Manta-Ray color scheme will be changed before the book goes to print. Moving on!
Um... I guess there's nothing to move on to? Those are military 'Con jets in the back, not any specific Transformer by-the-by. Another fun page to color; I had a lot of fun coloring that "dry, cracked ground" in the panels. Trying to get a little better at rendering "nature", but I still have a while to go! That's it for now! I hope you guys enjoy(or at least didn't kill your EYES!).

I told them that it should be called "Drift: the Adventures to Burritoplex 8" because we've never seen a Transformer buy burritos, and that would surely satisfy the fans! The idea was rejected and Denton "Jellyfish" Tipton quickly punched me in the stomach and told me if I ever harass his family again, he'd have a restraining order put against me... gawd, it's so hard to just be "secret friends" with people without getting in trouble once they find out!

I KID.

This was a fun cover to color- relatively simple as well, honestly. Alex did a great job with this cover.
