I left some of the rough spots and approximations from the original whiteboard drawing and sketch. I'm not sure if they translate well to the inked version or not.

The final version will have "With my rifle in one hand and my battleaxe in the other, I will fear no zombie" scribbled above it. I think I'm going to break out the tablet for that.

I'm leaning towards straight white (as the original whiteboard sketch) because it'll work with the scribbled caption. I can't remember how much of the design I stole from book covers (like The Path of Daggers) and the illustrated guide to WoT, and how much I came from the description.

The background is actually supposed to be the horizon blending into the clouds above it, although it seems to come off as a shoreline as it appears in the photo. ]]> here.

Don't remember the exact assignment on this one, but I think it started out in black-and-white as a way to work with value, and then we actually painted over it with color. That would probably explain why the paint seems so thick on this one.

It all started with a very special bottle of wine the Sommelier had tucked away in the back storeroom. Festering for three hundred years, this very special bottle of red harbored a dark secret. Long ago, in another lifetime, the Buffet's winemaster had used his necromantic arts to curse this special bottle of wine with a dark, magically-enhanced virus. This virus would, as part of the Sommelier's cunning plan, bring out the horrifying inner essence of anyone who consumed it. Then, of course, the Sommelier got distracted and forgot about his evil plan, leaving the bottle of wine mixed in with the rest of his collection.

Needless to say, the soup kitchen was a big hit for the Buffet, and without giving further details, the restaurant's supply of meat for cooking was summarily restored. The Sommelier's stockpile of radioactive soup was also safely disposed of.
