Titan A. E. Redesign

A group project to redesign the characters of Titan A.E. Since we were reinventing the characters we decided to run with it.

Akima is now the main character who grew up in an alien majority space station filled with resentment toward the human race. Now a hardened by a life amongst aliens, for many years Korso (3rd from left) acted as her protecter and surrogate father figure. Her real father died after the Drej destroyed the earth, only leaving behind the leather jacket that Akima always adorns. Korso, once part of the military had witnessed the creation of the Drej, a virus like creature that absorbs the energy of all living things. Once the most powerful weapon created by man, is now a hivemind being that plagues the universe.

Stith (4th) is a powerful but maternal character who is fond of Akima and Gune. Gune (5th) is a child prodigy navigator and inventor. Cale (2nd) is a pilot who lived among humans in a refugee colony. Filled with hope for humanity, he is the one that ultimately convinces Akima to activate the Titan. Korso, on the other hand, betrays them convinced that the Titan is just another tragedy created by humans like the Drej before it.

Complete AT LAST.

This is my 2nd model, and 4th paint job. Inorganic shapes, why you so hard to hand sculpt?! I ended up making a mold of the corner and middle pieces out of super sculpey to help keep the sizes consistent. As for the paint, the first set of colors were acceptable but they were too dark and blue compared to the turret. Finally done and pretty much happy with it.

Aluminum foil, Super Sculpey, Acrylic paint, Varathane finish.

This model had his eyes open 40% of the time, closed for another 40%, and fluttering eyelids the rest of the time. His head also bobbed up and down on his boat ride between consciousnessand sleep...and yet despite the fact he was the worst model I've ever had, this painting actually turned out to be my favorite oil painting so far. Hm.

FINISHED. Lots of color tweeking in this one. I had trouble with the stone pathway but ended up drawing it flat on a seperate file (with ref) and tiled it on the main picture. Also used ref for the moon and the bottom of the lamp post.

I actually love how the bg turned out. Although it's basically a photo with layers upon layers of filters. ^^

Another post! Frightening isn't it?

Started drawing this on the bus while touring in D.C. and finished the lineart while flying back. Drawing on the bus is hard. ;_;
My tablet died while coloring this picture so the ENTIRE dragon was done with mouse. Oh well, still had fun coloring it anyway. ^_^

Done with pencil (too lazy to ink), Photoshop CS (editting), and Painter 8 (for coloring)
Took ... 20-30 hours? I don't know.

This was a collab between me and . I did the lineart and he colored. I was bored so I colored it anyway XD

Lineart done ENTIRELY with ballpoint pen.
The coloring was surprizingly easy and fast. Maybe cause all the detail was put in with the ballpoint XD

Yeah, anyway, this picture is for 's Birthday!! I was working on her picture for about 2 or 3 months now. Each picture just kept on coming out hidious. It took about 7-9 tries until I finally was somewhat satisfied with the lineart. It's also my first time making a soft glowy type of picture.

When I first saw the reference picture she gave me, I immediatly thought of chocolate for some reason O_O;; So, I put in Pocky cause I remember KL gave one to me once The dog's also there cause it was in the picture she drew for me Look closely at the bg, you'll see donuts

After getting the right lineart, it took 20 hours to color -0-lll *dies*
Colored on PS6 with the exception of the calligraphy which was done on Painter8
