But even in these hectic times, the scum of the underworld are still able to make a living, human and non-human alike. Which brings us to this unsavory couple, the Nekojin (Niran Cat-Person) wench Coney Marnita, and the demonically amalgamated human known only as Crimson.

The gorgeous Coney refers to herself as a genius theft, but she's really just a sly witch who uses her magical knowledge to aid in her criminal endeavors. Most notably the ability dubbed the Grimalkin Stare, a very powerful form of mind control done through the eyes, which also seems to be a rare Nekojin-only trait. But Coney is also very voluptuous and extremely curvaceous, along with a likeable persona, so she only uses the Grimalkin Stare when those assets can't get her what she wants. Not as ruthless as some of her fellow villains, Coney is still rather selfish and greedy, something that has gotten her in trouble plenty of times, even though she'd never admit to it.

Crimson is a powerful and feared human mercenary, and the most battle capable of a team of two other guns for hire known as the Tiga-Terrible. All three bloodthirsty warriors are infamous for augmenting particular parts of their human bodies with those of some very unfortunate demons. Many doubt their relationship will last for long, but until then, feel sorry for those who become targets of their allied villainy.

***********

The creative histories behind these two characters should be shared outside the 'in-universe' synopsis: Crimson, along with the other two in the Tiga-Terrible, are actually creations of my friend Jesse Alonso, who I've done lots of character designs for. The Grenade Princess' tenacious band of cannon carrying ladies have become a welcomed addition to Malakite's already fearsome, and still growing, legions.

*******

Extra Images and Links

One of the three pictures from above, but done in an old, Victorian-style, photo color scheme:

[link]

A crude, and equally outdated bitmap picture, featuring Gertrude and the current members of the Beautiful Bomber Squad:

[link]

I love sexy demon ladies just a tad more than "Star Wars", and unless The English Gent changes the date for his unofficial holiday in the future, May the 4th will be an excuse for me to do devilish cheesecake art from now on! So take that overwhelming nerd majority, who will probably never read this comical jab in the first place, and accuse me of complete ignorance of May the Force through their own ignorance!

And what better way to celebrate and contribute to Demon Girl Appreciation Day than to revisit one of my oldest heroines, 'The Soulful Succubus' herself, Demonica Lazdry!

***********

Demonica Lazdry (LAZ-Dree) hails from the world of Nira, which is an alternate version of our own Earth, where the monsters of myth and legend are real species living alongside humans, for better and for worse.

Yes, Nira is my own obligatory fantasy world, not unlike the ones found in most book series, or role playing games (RPG). But I'm quite proud of the work I put into it, using my knowledge of mythical monsters, zoology, obscure real-world history, and my own offbeat quirks to help shape it. And hopefully, I can finally get the time to do some finished comics that take place within Nira, despite there being a three-issue long past attempt, that desperately needs reworking.

Now it has been centuries since the Niran equivalent of the tragedy laden and blood soaked Dark Ages. And as such, the various Demon Races of Nira, who were once among the greatest offenders of this terrible age, have since evolved into calmer beings of freewill, with overall species stability.

True, there are still demonic villains and factions in Nira's modern time, along with the basic sinful nature of Niran Demons in general. But as a whole, they've improved since The Dark Ages, and have begun to peacefully interact with civilizations beyond their (literally) underground city states.

And among the truly decent demons to attempt full on integration, is the sultry succubus Demonica Lazdry. She's one of several daughters of the infamous demon warlord Demongaus Spine-Ripper, but was outcast along with her mother Demonia Spine-Ripper, after the latter caused a very minor mistake, during one of her husband's military campaigns. And was unfairly punished, just to be used as an example to Demongaus' other 'general wives'.

Demonia and then toddler Demoinca later found refuge with a sympathetic human pastor named Christopher Lazdry, who quickly became a close, dear friend to both. And as Demoinca's last name makes apparent, Christopher later became her beloved step-father, when Demonia decided to accept and marry the human pastor. Hence the rosary seen around Demonica's neck, which was a memento from her parents.

Both Demonica Lazdry's beloved mother and step-father, as well as her hated original father, have long since left this mortal plain. And Demonica, despite her stunning young looks, is well into her eighties by human standards, having lived a long life across Nira's Western Realms. Although she prefers to keep most of her personal history private, even with her closest of friends. However, its hinted that Demonica has been married more than once, but again, she's not admitting any such matters.

***********

These days, Demonica Lazdry is the oldest member of a VERY small band of rebels, who seek to end a prolonged war between The Harpy Empire, and human populated Manoroth Kingdoms, which is slowly consuming the rest of Nira with its yearly escalation.

This nameless band is led by the goodhearted half-giant Phil Amazah, and the far less pleasant, banished harpy princess Tiq Alleo. And includes the Changeling con artist Jason Koppe, the shockingly violent child warrior Tregandric of the Greenmen, and the heroic vampire ninja Catherine H.

In this group, Demonica serves as the both sorceress and motherly elder, even though she can't really keep her Succubus tendencies completely in check. And tries her hardest not to lust after all her younger, and unavoidably attractive cohorts.

Thankfully, both Niran Succubi and their male counterparts Incubi (as in Incubus) no longer need life-force energy to sustain themselves. Instead living off on more lasting sexual energies, as well as regular food in between such enjoyable sessions. But again, it still puts Demonica in a very awkward situation with her teammates, made all the more complicated by her specie's natural bisexualism.

To make up for this shortcoming, Demonica Lazdry will sometimes makes money on the side as a 'freelance escort', while in towns or cities that she and her team have to stay within, for long periods of time. And being quite good at...what she does...Demonica keeps the group financially secured and comfortable.

Again, the poor succubus can't help herself, but can be a surprisingly wholesome when such urges are not too overwhelming, which isn't as often as one would think. Lust not withstanding, Demonica has grown a small, but sincere crush for her leader Phil, and have become maternally protective of both Tregandric and Catherine. She get's along with Tiq and Jason well enough, even if she doesn't have too much faith in their ultimate loyalty to the team.

***********

Although Demonica Lazdry knows a good number of offensive spells, she prefers to relay more on her hand-to-hand combat skills first and foremost. And is pretty good with a sword, whenever she can get her feminine claws on one. But when the situation becomes dire, and against overwhelming enemies and odds, Demonica can assume a far more monstrous form for extreme combat, as shown on the left side of the above picture.

This is a common trait with most unassuming demons similar to Demonica. And since Succubi are closely related to humans, they're secondary 'Dire States' are not unlike that of tall, powerfully built primates, or monkey-like beasts. Especially when you look at the ignorant state that I was in between the years 1999-through-2009.

Although I still have a soft spot for many of the older illustrations featured in this collage, all were done with inferior means and through equally weak execution. Including not rendering them at a professional printing size of 300-DPI (3400 pixels in height), and me NOT saving the original Photoshop files, and only as scaled down JPEGs.

So these pictures are more-or-less lost, though I could easily re-do or update any of them if push ever came to shove. The related characters, on the other hand, are all still with me in some form or other, and here's a quick rundown of who's who.

Starting from the Top Row, Left-To-Right, and Working Our Way Downwards

************

"Scruffy the Pirate Girl" (2007)

Some random pirate woman of whom I made for no particular reason, outside that of simple eye-candy. Maybe Scruffy hunts sea serpents for a living or something? The name Scruffy however does reflect her battle scars, and here is a daytime and nighttime version of the same piece. Admittedly, the latter version does comes off like a 'day-for-night' scene from some 1970's B-movie.

My, it's very BLUE out tonight, isn't it?

"TV Head Boss Man" (2008)

An insane television producer from Earth, transformed into an equally insane cyborg villain thanks to some aliens who totally lacked hindsight and common sense.

suggested that I do a newer, improved illustration of TV Head Boss Man, but until I can complete such a picture, the older version will be featured here.

"Grey the Nightmare Tyrant" (2009)

This picture was done by my brother (Gonzo), although the actual character itself is still all my doing. Grey is a Boogeyman from another dimension who has viciously taken a position of extreme authority over his own people, and now seeks the conquest of our human world as well.

"Flea-Bitten Sisters" (2007 I think?)

Cover for a three-issue comic that I inked and lettered, but never published to this day. Several friends suggested that I should just color the existing inks, and upload it for web distribution, while I myself is equally tempted to re-draw it all, and alter the original story in turn.

The title protagonists are two anthropomorphic cat sisters (Nikojins), named Kate Marnita (the crimson haired one) and Tabitha Marnita (the blue haired one), who start off as teenage peasants, but over the course of the series, evolve into full-blown fantasy heroines.
The amazing hints and lessons that I have gotten from my artists friends and acquaintances these last few years have been a massive help.
