So here we have it, a little take on the indelible force of Duality - the very asymmetric foundation but seemingly symmetric manifestation of it that brings out all the colors, good, evil, darkness and light into our lives. It is my present understanding that without duality everything would come to a standstill ... life as we know it would not be possible. As far as I can currently envision it, a non-polarized reality would pretty much be a boundless, unchanging panel of ... nothing (or Everything, since both terms are virtually the same when not subjected to the concept of polarity). But let's cross that bridge when and if we come to it. xD

Meanwhile ... if you feel like watching a movie but are tired of the stuff the movie industry is putting out, give this a shot: [link]

I've just reached 100 watchers!

So instead of writing a new journal (which would make the current volume of AotW disappear from my profile page), I'm sharing this piece with you as a token of my gratitude for your support. It means quite a lot to me seeing a good and stable number of people who enjoy my work.

So this is dedicated to all of you - active or inactive watchers!

As for the fractal itself: it took me about a week to get this one right. The cropping was a notable problem, given that the display area affects the structure of the fractal itself.

Thus the widescreen-ish aspect of it.

Though this way, the image can also be vertically made into a pattern!

Please make sure to full-view as this is probably my most detailed work to date as well.

Given that New Year's Eve isn't very far away and my mother will be traveling back to Bulgaria for a quick visit soon, I did this one as a gift for her - she's a big fan of abstract art and also of this particular palette. And without going into much detail, let's just say our relationship has never been very easy ... hence this title.

On a technical level, this is yet another composite of 2 fractals with identical origin points ... as per Fixian tradition. xD

And on the central part we've so far detected a: bear, koala, platypus, pig, mouse, dog, cow, rabbit, bat, gypsy moth and an elephant even!

It all began as a simple Pythagoras Tree experiment about a month ago?

And it gradually went through more transformations than I could possibly remember. I was just never happy enough about it ... until yesterday I had this

of condensing everything into structured layers separated by a base shape - in this case, the strongest geometric shape: the triangle.

The final result looks harmonious at first, but if you look closer, there are still bits that are off - mainly between origin points due to the reserved space for the connectors. Those all being clones of the main connector or core element which is the totem pole contained within the limits (or delineating them?

) of the main triangle in the center.

I still don't know to fix them.

Still, this was as close as I could get to connecting the base shapes with the freaky Log variation within the boundaries of a square canvas and according to the branching of the Pythagoras Tree. The whole thing had to be split horizontally in a 2:1 ratio as a final step to center ... euhm, the current center

(another factor of imprecision ... but needed).

Hey, it's harmony in imperfection.

Bulgaria is like a big fucking furnace right now and this PC has never been even remotely fond of heatwaves ... so I am forever grateful to ~zemimsky for rendering this on her monster laptop and for sparing the flames on mine.

Anyhow, finally an infinite fractal!

I almost have a feeling none of my previous works are even fractals since there's rarely anything endless about their structure.
Despite that not being my point in doing them, it's nice to achieve results like this one ... at least once in a while.

It was a challenge, especially making the elements' interaction aspect as realistic as I could ... not that it can be much for this type of image ... but you catch my drift, right?
So this is 80% Apophysis and 20% Photoshop to blend the fractal landscape and the stars together and to give the whole thing some more energy.

In case you're wondering what exactly I am trying to portray here ... well, imagine yourself looking at an exterior core/heart of an extremely cold and distant planet. Somewhere you'd only want to be near if you're looking from the inside of a cozy warm spaceship.

Wow, it's been a month since I last submitted something here ...

I'm sorry for the inactivity guys, but I've been very uninspired and unproductive lately. I truly hate not being able to create something for such a long time, so I pushed myself to start a fractal yesterday without any serious intention of finishing it or even planning to get this final result, but since I don't often experiment with MB3D and the initial version looked promising, I insisted on completing it.

I probably spent more time goofing around in Photoshop with that energy beam on the lower right corner than with the actual fractal!

It was really fun though.

How does the beam look to you? Is it convincing? Is it cheap and crappy?

It's the first time I draw something like it and also the first time I use MB3D's DOF options, so I would really appreciate some constructive criticism!

I guess this is my way of simulating part of what Apophysis 3 would be able to do with the upcoming layers feature. Of course I had to glue them all together manually since that version is still not released, so that is why this is under "Fractal Manipulations". It's pretty much raw, otherwise.

What better way to understand each other than by communicating? And I mean like educated human beings. Not members of Conceit Corp or defiers of the evolutionary scale. Why has it become a luxury to find people who aren't self-centered agents of silence and repression?

This is dedicated to all those who freely, honestly and without fear speak their minds and actually do something in order to be understood. Even if there seem to be few who take meaning in what they're saying.

On a technical side, I'm beginning to get the hang of a few aspects of Apophysis that I used to evade for a really long time. I started this fractal purely for the sake of experimentation, but everything was inevitably falling into place as I was working on-and-off on it during the last week, becoming a storm of inner turmoil and insomniac visions (not very much mine though - I'm actually okay and have no idea how I manage to sleep at 41ºC ...).

Anyhow, don't forget to full-view!

This one is dedicated to *zemimsky as a huge thank you for all the epic moments we've had together during the last 6 years.
