This is artwork based on track 3, "Pentagon (V)" of 17-year-old pianist prodigy Tristan Allen's self-titled debut EP, produced by punk cabaret queen Amanda Palmer.

The image and the title made me think of something big, something like a building, something like a city or a land, something made of ideas, burning down spectacularly.
The image has tons of energy, but if you are to imagine the flames moving, it's not like an explosion. Picture it moving silently, the way big pillars of smoke look from afar.

Esto es una pieza de diseño basada en la canción nº 3, "Pentagon (V)", del primer álbum homónimo del genial pianista de 17 años Tristan Allen, producido por Amanda Palmer, reina del punk cabaret.

La canción y eltítulo me hicieron pensar en algo grande, algo como un edificio o una ciudad, algo hecho de ideas, en llamas.
La imagen tiene mucha energía, pero si vas a imaginártela como escena, no es como una explosión. Imagínalo como las torres de humo grandes y lentas que salen de los incendios cuando los ves desde lejos.

Drawing of a fire bird I did for my mother. The scan doesn't do the original watercolors justice. It looks very lame here, the original one is a lot more intense.

Illustration I did for a short story in a fanzine.
Pencil, then pen, then watercolors, in a rather careless way. I dip the brush in paint and blew on it to create all those dirty specs everywhere. I also let some water drops fall and then blew on them to make them expand and add to the filth. I wanted to give it a corrupt, contaminated feel.

Ilustración que hice para un relato corto en un fanzine.
A láiz, luego entintado con boli, y luego acuarelas, todo de una forma un tanto descuidada. Metí el pincel en pintura y soplé para hacer el efecto de todos esos puntitos; además, dejé caer gotas de agua y pintura y soplé para expandirlas y crear esa atmósfera de suciedad, corrupción y contaminación.

Sketch of a character from one of my stories.
He's a vampire called Crowcape who is always smoking something and has some weird ability at taming birds. Crows are his favourites, and his cape is made so that, when he's sitting, he looks like one of them. His dreadlocks are supposed to make his head fuse with the cape as if he really had feathers. He usually doesn't wear that mask.

Es un vampiro llamado Manto de Cuervo que siempre está fumando algo raro y tiene una extraña habilidad entrenando pájaros. Sus favoritos son los cuervos, y su capa está hecha para que parezca uno cuando se sienta. Sus rastas negras se funden con la capa, de modo que realmente parece que tenga plumas. Normalmente no lleva máscara.

First of my three Morrigan drawings. Goddess of War, Lady of Crows.
She's the child form, the first one, and she's holding a shield.
The others are the adult one and the old one.

I used black and red pens, and a wet pencil to do the effects. In this one I tried making cleaner lines.

Esta es la forma de niña, la primera. Sostiene un escudo.
Las otras son la adulta y la anciana.

Usé bolígrafo negro y rojo y luego difuminé con un pincel mojado e hice los efectos. Ésta está dibujada con líneas más definidas.

First of my three Morrigan drawings.
She's the adult form, the second one, and she has a spear.
The others are the adult one and the old one.

I used black and red pens, and a wet pencil to do the effects. The end result reminds me of Yoshitaka Amano's art—it might have to do with the shape of the face and eyes. Dunno. It wasn't intentional, but I like it.

Usé bolígrafo negro y rojo y luego difuminé con un pincel mojado e hice los efectos. El resultado me recuerda mucho a las ilustraciones de Yoshitaka Amano. Creo que por la cara. Es algo inintencionado pero que me gusta mucho.

What I drew for my father. I didn't know what to do, so I just used watercolors and drew a bunch of surreal things. I like the result.
It's poorly scanned; the original one was more colorful and had details you simply can't see here.

I was trying to experiment with a style I haven't used for too long. I definitely need to keep trying to use it.
But my black pens wil die if I use too much shadows. XD I guess I'll resort to pencil and black paint.

First attempt at using a new style of handwriting. I'll use a much-bettered version of this logo when I make my website (it's one of the projects I must begin work in, a website for everything I do, which will be a section of an art group called Moon-2; worry not, I'll begin shamelessly plugging when it starts running).
I wrote it all myself, using a simple notebook and my faithful Pilot G-Tec-C4 0.4 (HOORAY PILOT!), then scanned it and inverted colors with Paint Shop Pro 8, which I then used to pull several pieces of texto together.

Yes, I don't know how to use Photoshop. >_>

Éste es mi primer intento de emplear un nuevo estilo de escritura. Emplearé una versión muy mejorada de este logo en mi página web, cuando la haga (es uno de los proyectos en los que debería empezar a trabajar: será una página para toda mi obra, y formará parte de la de un grupo de artistas, Moon-2; tranquilos, en cuanto esté lista comenzaré a autopublicitarme descaradamente).
