All the silver sections are made using silver metallic spandex. The belt is gathered under the belt buckle to give it dimension. The belt buckle is sculpted by me using Scult It, painted, varnished and attached with a snap. I made my chocker from PVC with a sculpted silver eagle and my earrings which are silver moons.

The bodysuit is made from four way stretch glitter velvet, I'm still finding glitter everywhere from sewing it. I put under-bust seams into the bodysuit to help the bodysuit mold to my body. I designed to suit to have a large enough neck opening to allow for no zipper. I applied rhinestones all over the bodysuit by hand using E600. The red sash is made using polyester lining fabric, I wanted to sash to be light and catch the wind.
I found a great leather look spandex that I'm in love with (the stretch is FANTASTIC) I use it to make the gloves and boots. The boots are sewn into a pair of dance tights to stop them from riding down as well as creating a seamless appearance. My mask is made by Xtreme Design FX

Fabric shopping was the biggest battle for this costume, matching the blues in fabric was a big pain. I would find a fabric I like, move it to the cutting table next to another blue only to realize it was purple!
The dress is made from a two way stretch silk knit jersey. I made a custom pattern for the dress which has a halter style neckline and side slits up to my waist. The 'arm warmers' are made from a combination to dark blue suede and silk knit jersey. I added details of suede strapping, gold buckets and gold studs for more visual interest (inspired by the Ame-Comi statue). My cape is a modified Simplicity (5794) cape pattern. My favorite fabric to use for capes is a matte satin, I love the weight and the slight shine it has. I heat sealed the bottom of the cape to allow for optimum cape movement. My belt is custom made and resin cast by me. I use Castin Craft for my resin pieces, it stinks to high heaven and takes 3 hours to set... but the pieces come out flawless. The circular pieces are made using a per-existing mold whereas my raven center piece is custom sculpted, molded and cast by me. The belt is painted using Krylon gold metallic spray paint. All the cast belt pieces are mounded on a dark blue pleather belt made by me.

Costume Construction:
Starfire is a costume you look at and think "I can't totally make that easily" but when you sit down and plan things out you wonder why you though it was easy!

I drafted a custom monokini pattern for Starfire's main suit, which is made out of a purple metallic spandex. I made a moulded collar and 'bra' piece using fosshape to add structure and support to the suit. The boots are made in two sections: a boot piece and legging. I wanted to be able to easily take of my shoes and rest so making the thigh high boots in two pieces was the best decision possible. The legging section has silicon elastic on the tops to hold them in place. My bracers and armband are made out of wonderflex and craft foam. I head formed the bracers to allow for maximum arm/wrist movement so they are super comfortable.

All the gems on the costume are custom cast in resin. All the purple gems have purple glitter inset in them where as the red gem is done in a marbleized red. My ‘crotch gem’ is attached to a pin backing so it is removable for storage/washing. All the purple gems are finished with purple glitter glue surrounding the gems.

Costume Construction:
The bodysuit is made out of a matte black milliskin spandex using my own bodysuit pattern. All the belts/holsters etc. Are made from a combination of matte white vinyl and white elastic. The shoulder holster is padded with a white faux sheepskin for comfort. My shield patch was made for me by the lovely Christine of the DangerousLadies. My gloves are made from a metallic white spandex.

Costume Construction:
The bodysuit is made out of a matte black milliskin spandex using my own bodysuit pattern. All the belts/holsters etc. Are made from a combination of matte white vinyl and white elastic. The shoulder holster is padded with a white faux sheepskin for comfort. My shield patch was made for me by the lovely Christine of the DangerousLadies. My gloves are made from a metallic white spandex.

Costume Construction:
Starfire is a costume you look at and think "I can't totally make that easily" but when you sit down and plan things out you wonder why you though it was easy!

I drafted a custom monokini pattern for Starfire's main suit, which is made out of a purple metallic spandex. I made a moulded collar and 'bra' piece using fosshape to add structure and support to the suit. The boots are made in two sections: a boot piece and legging. I wanted to be able to easily take of my shoes and rest so making the thigh high boots in two pieces was the best decision possible. The legging section has silicon elastic on the tops to hold them in place. My bracers and armband are made out of wonderflex and craft foam. I head formed the bracers to allow for maximum arm/wrist movement so they are super comfortable.

All the gems on the costume are custom cast in resin. All the purple gems have purple glitter inset in them where as the red gem is done in a marbleized red. My ‘crotch gem’ is attached to a pin backing so it is removable for storage/washing. All the purple gems are finished with purple glitter glue surrounding the gems.

The corset I'm wearing is a Victorian underbust from Brute Force Studios , the corset was my primary inspiration for the outfit since I wanted something to wear it with.

While I was fabric shopping I came across the fun plaid which I decided I HAD to use for my bustle. I found a great Youtube video on how to make a bustle, I made some slight alterations but overall found it SOO helpful.

My skirt is made out of a a brown and cream textured cotton. The skirt is teared in four sections, the top is made with a slight A-line and the bottom 3 tears are gathered. Under the skirt is a bridal petticoat which I've had sitting in my back of my closet for years, I was glad to finally be able to use it.

The green shirt is from my wardrobe and the pinafore necklace is made by me. The fur jacket is a vintage 1930's piece that used to belong to my grandmother, it is real fur and very nice and warm to wear. My original plan was to make a pair of white/cream lace gloves but after looking at everything together the lace gloves were a little much, so I decided to use a pair of black leather driving gloves.
For headgear I decided I wanted a quintessential Scottish hat, so I went on the hunt through vintage and military stores looking for Balmoral Bonnets, Tam's and Glengarrys. I found some lovely military Glengarrys which were unfortunately out of my price range so I settled for an adorable smaller version.

The bodysuit it made from a custom pattern drafted by myself. The suit has a combination of modified princess seams and angled hip darts to shape the suit and belly window. The bodysuit is made from black and white metallic spandex. The bodysuit has built in leggings for the sake of 'modesty' and comfort.

The boots are boot-covers created over a pair of combat boots. I used wet look purple spandex for the base of the boot and ribbed a section under the knee for detailing and to help keep the boot up. The strapping and lower shoe guard are made from purple vinyl. The knee pads are highly modified children's knee guards which I ripped apart, rebuilt and then coated in a semi gloss glaze.

The belts and pouches are made from the same purple vinyl. I created my own pattern for the pouches and engineered my own design for the belts. My belt buckle is made from resin marbled in black and gold.

My arm guards are altered children shin guards which I've heat formed, painted and altered to fit my arms. My cape clasps are resin casted and painted with a metallic gold. The cape is made from a lightweight poly-satin and the same metallic white spandex used on the suit. The bottom of the cape is heat sealed to allow the cape to flow in the wind.

The mask is made from craft foam, heat & bond and purple wet look spandex. I also sewed elastic onto the temples of the mask to hold it on.
I created a paper mock-up of my face to get the spacing of the eyes, nose and jaw correct. Then I used the paper pattern to create a craftfoam mock-up to see how the heat forming would fit my face and to make sure craftfoam was the right material to use. I followed this up with cutting out a final copy of the mask from craftfoam, sewing on the elastic and applying heat and bond to the surface. I attached the wet look spandex to the heat and bond, then I cut off the excess fabric around the mask. I then heated the mask and molded it to my face.

Still not sure what to call this costume, so I'll just refer to myself as a Highland Lass!

Costume Notes:
The only pieces I mad for this costume are the skirt, bustle and jewelry. The corset I'm wearing is a Victorian underbust from Brute Force Studios , the corset was my primary inspiration for the outfit since I wanted something to wear it with.

While I was fabric shopping I came across the fun plaid which I decided I HAD to use for my bustle. I found a great Youtube video on how to make a bustle, I made some slight alterations but overall found it SOO helpful.

My skirt is made out of a a brown and cream textured cotton. The skirt is teared in four sections, the top is made with a slight A-line and the bottom 3 tears are gathered. Under the skirt is a bridal petticoat which I've had sitting in my back of my closet for years, I was glad to finally be able to use it.

The green shirt is from my wardrobe and the pinafore necklace is made by me. The fur jacket is a vintage 1930's piece that used to belong to my grandmother, it is real fur and very nice and warm to wear. My original plan was to make a pair of white/cream lace gloves but after looking at everything together the lace gloves were a little much, so I decided to use a pair of black leather driving gloves.
For headgear I decided I wanted a quintessential Scottish hat, so I went on the hunt through vintage and military stores looking for Balmoral Bonnets, Tam's and Glengarrys. I found some lovely military Glengarrys which were unfortunately out of my price range so I settled for an adorable smaller version.

The bodysuit it made from a custom pattern drafted by myself. The suit has a combination of modified princess seams and angled hip darts to shape the suit and belly window. The bodysuit is made from black and white metallic spandex. The bodysuit has built in leggings for the sake of 'modesty' and comfort.

The boots are boot-covers created over a pair of combat boots. I used wet look purple spandex for the base of the boot and ribbed a section under the knee for detailing and to help keep the boot up. The strapping and lower shoe guard are made from purple vinyl. The knee pads are highly modified children's knee guards which I ripped apart, rebuilt and then coated in a semi gloss glaze.

The belts and pouches are made from the same purple vinyl. I created my own pattern for the pouches and engineered my own design for the belts. My belt buckle is made from resin marbled in black and gold.

My arm guards are altered children shin guards which I've heat formed, painted and altered to fit my arms. My cape clasps are resin casted and painted with a metallic gold. The cape is made from a lightweight poly-satin and the same metallic white spandex used on the suit. The bottom of the cape is heat sealed to allow the cape to flow in the wind.

The mask is made from craft foam, heat & bond and purple wet look spandex. I also sewed elastic onto the temples of the mask to hold it on.
I created a paper mock-up of my face to get the spacing of the eyes, nose and jaw correct. Then I used the paper pattern to create a craftfoam mock-up to see how the heat forming would fit my face and to make sure craftfoam was the right material to use. I followed this up with cutting out a final copy of the mask from craftfoam, sewing on the elastic and applying heat and bond to the surface. I attached the wet look spandex to the heat and bond, then I cut off the excess fabric around the mask. I then heated the mask and moulded it to my face.

Construction Info:

The shirt is a custom pattern I made based off the idea of a inverted wrap top. The shirt is fully lined and piped along the bottom edge, the fabric used for the top is a green matte satin. The shoulder pads are covered in the same matte satin and connected with snaps so they're removable.

The skirt is made from a matte black satin, which funnily enough is left over fabric from my boyfriends Batman cape XD. It is lined in more black satin and piped in gold. The 'crotch flap' is the same green satin as the shirt.

All the gold bits on the costume are made from metallic gold spandex. The belt is a mixture of gold spandex and inset PVC strips. All of the Armour pieces (neck guard, gauntlets, bellybutton shield and shin guards) are made from multiple layers of craft foam covered in gold spandex, after this project my official favorite thing ever is spray glue. All the pieces (except the belt) Velcro closed. The neck guard snaps onto the shirt on the front and back. The headpieces is made from the same craft foam and spandex combo with memory wire built into it, so it can mold around my head easily and then lay flat for storage without damaging it.

I suck at props, but of well! Since I'm not so good on the prop front I decided to make a long staff, which is primarily built using a curtain rod and pilfered Christmas ornaments. I decided to go with red tones so I could have a ruby socketed long staff. I also carved runes for an extra little details, some of the runes on the staff are Cham, Lum and Io.

The top requires a lot of flash tape and patience to get the under boob sitting mostly covered and not looking vulgar. Making this costume was a big project of getting in shape again, after countless hours at the gym I was comfortable enough to wear it. I'm still a little self conscious about wearing it, but in the end I love this costume.

I drafted a pattern for a Donna by altering a pre-existing pattern I've made. The bodysuit is made from four way stretch glitter velvet, I'm still finding glitter everywhere from sewing it. I put under-bust seams into the bodysuit to help the bodysuit mold to my body. I designed to suit to have a large enough neck opening to allow for no zipper. I applied rhinestones all over the bodysuit by hand using E600. The suit has multiple constellations mapped on the suit including Scorpio on my thigh, Virgo on my hip and Orion on my calf.

All the silver sections are made using silver metallic spandex. My gauntlets are made from craftfoam and covered in the spandex and the belt is gathered under the belt buckle to give it dimension. The belt buckle is sculpted by me using Scult It, painted, varnished and attached with a snap. I made my chocker from PVC with a sculpted silver eagle and my earrings which are silver moons.

Costume Construction:
I drafted a pattern for a Donna by altering a pre-existing pattern I've made. The bodysuit is made from four way stretch glitter velvet, I'm still finding glitter everywhere from sewing it. I put under-bust seams into the bodysuit to help the bodysuit mold to my body. I designed to suit to have a large enough neck opening to allow for no zipper. I applied rhinestones all over the bodysuit by hand using E600. The suit has multiple constellations mapped on the suit including Scorpio on my thigh, Virgo on my hip and Orion on my calf.

All the silver sections are made using silver metallic spandex. My gauntlets are made from craftfoam and covered in the spandex and the belt is gathered under the belt buckle to give it dimension. The belt buckle is sculpted by me using Scult It, painted, varnished and attached with a snap. I made my chocker from PVC with a sculpted silver eagle and my earrings which are silver moons.

I went for a larger zipper (approx 20 gauge) since i really wanted the silver suit long zipper to stand out, I had to custom cut a length of it. The goggles are modified ATV goggles. I love my boots, they are Womens Inferno Advanced Motorcycle Boots by Xelement. My whip/belt is also made by me, my cats are convinced its a toy for them still.

My roommate ~darkelf205 has been prodding me for a while to do a Desire costume, it didn't take much to talk me into it. Desire is one of my favourite of the endless, as a character Desire is very complex. My pension for loving strong, cruel and villain’s characters continues.

My suit was a fantastic find from the opening of a family friend’s store, when you find a fierce power suit with shoulder pads you buy it... as a costume piece. My makeup is done entirely by me and I get to use my own hair, fabulous.
