After downloading rename the parts as follows:

Part 1 of 3 "Time Machine 3D Model OBJ.part01.rar"

(This is necessary because DA renames uploads to suit its own needs)

After renaming, place all files in the same folder, simply extract the (OBJ) file as normal from the first file.

These are some test renders from the project so far, as it is i am about 10% in to the build, i am using some great NASA shots of the great machine in orbit with its solar panels (which i have yet to start) fully deployed.

I still have much to do on this, it is looking promising so i thought i would share these early results, i will likely post more as the model evolves. ]]>

I thought i would try my hand at some more abstract work, the original idea was to illustrate an observer collapsing their reality in to being, much like in the famous Quantum Double Slit Experiment, although perhaps i did get a bit carried away with the effects, that is the underlying principle of this image.

Though I took great care to stay as true to the original LRV as possible, it is in fact based on many different NASA archive images of the LRV in varying states of assembly, as such I can not claim it to be accurate in any way other than the fact that this model is a good likeness of the actual final NASA LRV.

Please also forgive me for not going through and naming all of the parts, there were so many unique parts that I eventually gave up on the idea of finding out all of their names.

I was forced to reduce the length of the video to meet DA's 200mb limit on filesize.

Approx 2.8million polygons, modelled and rendered by me in 3Dsmax.

This is the first draft of the model, i still have some minor tweaks to do.

Created as part of learning project, to sharpen my skills and optimize my workflow when working with detailed and complex poly heavy models.

Model intended to become available for the general public to use free of charge in the near future, any interested commercial users can email me as always.

As luck would have it, 3dsmax crashed and corrupted the source file for this after rendering, leaving me to make both the boresight and the supporting structure again from scratch.

It is of course a 3D Image, made with "VUE" by Eon Software. It was just an experimental render, but its now quite complete. And i know alot of you seem to think so but its not meant to be the 'Allspark' i am not even a big transformers fan, though the movie's were kinda cool.

Some obvious problems with this render are slight over exposure in some areas, and a lot of twinkling across frames, this is mainly due to the render settings being lowered for animation and also video compression and downscaling seem to amplify the effect.

These 4,500 720p frames took around 180hours to render out with a Quad Corei7 975 Extreme.

In the second image down you can see the original texture without out the fuzzy distortion caused by shrinking the image.

There are at this stage 2520 such test renders sitting on my hard drive, all from various stages of the build, i wont be submitting any more as i dont want to flood my gallery.

A huge thanks to ^artofkerem for featuring this as a DD, it is a real vindication for taking the time to side track from my usual work.

The timing is perfect as i am currently working on a very highly detailed 3D model of NASA's L.R.V. (Lunar Rover/Moon Buggy), an highly complex and somewhat unusual vehicle. So far i have made over 200 unique parts for the model and i would say i am about 60% done overall.

Another learning project, its alway fun creating planets only to destroy them.

This was never meant to be a polished finished product, and has a few minor errors, it was just a project to make while learning PFlow.

Animated in 3dsMax, post processing in Photoshop, textures courtesy NASA Visible Earth. Music by Kevin Mcleod.

Created as part of a test HD 1080p project, basically this was just a technical exercise to see if i can create and manage larger files for HD output.

Compressed down from 11.5GB (4,500 Frames) to roughly 150MB, so a HUGE amount of actual detail is unfortunatley lost, though i may still eventually share the original 1080p at some point in the future.
