Obviously Link HAD to be done in the set I don't know why but I always pictured him as a 'beautiful young man' if someone were to play him so I deliberately made his face more on the feminine side. Plus... A LOT of female cosplayers like to go as Link so it must be a common trend that he isn't the most MASCULINE of people haha.

This was also recorded but isn't online till later so I will repost this with an edited description with the link (no pun intended) when it is ready.

Skin Colour/Texture Tutorial + Brushes

After the last image of 'Savannah' and since pieces like 'Mario' and 'Milla Jovovich', people have been asking me how I do skin in notes etc. So here is a brief outlook on how I blend and what brushes I use etc.

I am not a master so this is just what I do. I am sure there are many other ways to do things and more efficient ways. But if this helps anyone... Great!

The brushes are NOT ALL mine. A lot of have been gathered over the years from other artists and I have changed and messed with a few and narrowed them down to what I use.

I really tried to make her look pretty and dignified, but not 'sexy' as she doesn't appear to be portrayed that way in the game after playing it (it is awesome by the way!)... hence why her chest isn't filling the screen lol! Had a LOT of fun painting all those little details at 100%+ zoom lol. Pretty chuffed with the way she turned out . Best of luck in the contest everyone and thanks for all the comments, really appreciate it guys <3

Hellooooo! I just finished watching Anthony Jones's video for like the 100th time and decided to try out the method You can get awesome results really quick!!! Granted I am not using it as good as he does lol, but was fun either way . Took about an hour and a half using his method of lighting.

I wanted to paint something spooky/creepy so went with a zombie girl... figures! lol. Had a lot of fun with this experimenting with lighting, learning new tricks and working on values. Not perfect but definitely a fun piece!! The 'zombifying' bit was very fun!!

I also wanted to do something finished lol.

Just sketching around... trying to get used to the RGB sliders instead of HSB as apparently its better. However still having trouble as you can see haha! Having fun at least

EDIT: Since I was pretty lost with this... I decided to experiment with it and try to add random information/colours etc... try to make the colours seem more 'accidental' as such for a mess around. Anyways gonna leave this and move on. Thanks for reading!

Someone mailed me asking for the steps for it so here is a rough progress thingy :S... to the right are the digital studies I did for it... tried going back and forth during the painting... so before the clouds I would stop painting the image, go do the cloud stuff, then go back and paint from imagination. It seems to help me remember it. But yeh... anywaysssss.

Apologies for this being under 'TUTORIALS' etc... I know its not a tutorial at all... anyone know what category this goes under?

After yesterdays study just wanted to test the memory with a cloud sketch. Tried to have thin wispy clouds as well as the big fluffy ones... I would have made the edges fluffier but I just wanted to get the form mostly. Getting there lol.

Hey all.. another study for the Angel picture I am painting... I am so used to 'cheating' and using a mixture of cloud brushes and stamps etc to take the easy road... so wanted to learn how to paint them... I defo have a better grasp of the forms now. Still not perfect but at least better.

SHOUT OUT TO ALEX NEGREA!

If you haven't seen his work, check it because hes a beast!! I took a leaf out of his book and tried simplifying studies for initial learning. And writing down the things you don't know definitely help DRUM it into your head. I have such a problem with remembering stuff but this helps .

So yeah... clouds!! Top are from ref... I did more in my sketchbook to begin with but havent got a scanner. Then... noted the basics about them below... then tried a quickie from imagination. Will be doing more in this fashion... It defo helps me
