This one has much more character.

So I would love your opinions on him! My boyfriend and I are making out first storybook and he'll be the main character. It's about him Skiddles, the skunk, helping his human friends (owners) do daily tasks, but he can't seem to do anything right! Most of the time he'll have more of a derpy 'what am I doing here' kind of expression, and he goes over the top to do something like making his human friends breakfast.
We definitely want to do more than one book but they'll be really short and simple.

Now character-wise, I didn't want him to have a mouth so his eyes would be the most expressive feature on him.
His swirly fur was a last minute addition. I knew I wanted it to be fluffy, but originally it was just a bit of fluff here and there: [link]
That felt good enough. And then..I kept kicking myself because I was making his character simpler and simpler, like I was designing something for an animation. If I'm going to illustrate a storybook, I want him to be expressive and fluffy and adorable. D:
I definitely want the book to have the line-less look though. It feels so much more fun.

I was also curious to see if any of my watchers were skunk owners in case I had any questions in the future. We've done toooons of research but it's always good to know someone else just in case. Our vet was even surprised about how much we knew.

Skiddles is 8 weeks old, very healthy and going through potty training. He's been de-scented but I'm still surprised at the extent that his fur smells because all my research says they shouldn't smell. I guess they didn't mention their usual odor is that of a ferret because of their natural oils!
I bought some all-natural ferret sprays, one of which goes in his water, so I'm hoping he'll start to smell better as he gets older. Either way, I've had a pet ferret in the past so I know I'll get used to it.

He's such a sweetie pie, doesn't bite, and falls asleep in our laps. Our kitten is black also and they're getting along pretty well.

I was also curious to see if any of my watchers were skunk owners in case I had any questions in the future. We've done toooons of research but it's always good to know someone else just in case. Our vet was even surprised about how much we knew.

Skiddles is 8 weeks old, very healthy and going through potty training. He's been de-scented but I'm still surprised at the extent that his fur smells because all my research says they shouldn't smell. I guess they didn't mention their usual odor is that of a ferret because of their natural oils!
I bought some all-natural ferret sprays, one of which goes in his water, so I'm hoping he'll start to smell better as he gets older. Either way, I've had a pet ferret in the past so I know I'll get used to it.

He's such a sweetie pie, doesn't bite, and falls asleep in our laps. Our kitten is black also and they're getting along pretty well.
