I have not submitted anything in months!!! Oooops

Here is a little something for you guys, worn at Katsucon a month ago. Armor made of veg tanned leather, something I wanted to start working with and chose this as our first project, tooling was not as bad as I expected and thankfully I do not have carpal tunnel. Still have lots to learn but I am fairly pleased with it. (with rodeo going on I can't help but feel guilty every time I see a cow ) Will wear this again at Anime Matsuri.

Creative Space Fall 2012

My home cosplay area as of Fall 2012, the shop where most of the armors and larger props get made is completely separate.

Inspired by the amazing check out her beautiful work area

Here is a summary of all the things I have accumulated and the multiple areas I set up to do different thing. Some of the sewing machines I inherited from my mom and some I bought, they each serve a different function, I do not use the embroidery machine to sew regular things...actually I am still learning to use the embroidery machine and have not used it much hehe. I keep my serger threads in a drawer, I am going to buy a rack for them, I have a big box of them, lately I don't use the serger much bc I line almost everything I have made lately.

I use the table to draft and cut, when I am working on multiple things or really big pieces I also use the kitchen table which expands to about 10 feet. All I am missing is a nice big flat screen TV mounted in the room XD, I am sure that would make me extra productive. I use one computer to play things while I sew.

Oh oh maybe next I will post my organized cosplay closet and shoes, I took out and boxed up the ones I am not likely to ever wear again. In case y'all haven't noticed, I am a collector I do not get rid of things...which I should but it is too stressful XD

After we first made these armors for Akon 2012, I was completely unsatisfied with them so I remade everything but the backs and chests. Now I am more pleased considering they are made out of EVA foam mats. I used 3/8" mats (if you are going to make N7 armors out of eva foam look for 3/8" thick not 1/2") and 1/4" closed cell foam. Then ~Dionysus80 worked his magic and painted them camo in two days. He is amazing...I am really very cruel finishing up armors week before a con

We remade most of the N7 armors and repainted them in camo!!!!!

For those few HATERS!!!!! It is my armor...I can paint it pink if I choose to, if you have a problem by all means make your own N7 armor and paint it to your liking, not cool to hate on others for their preferences so spare me the comments. Phew glad I got that off my chest.

Having said that.....I love my armor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the original, made out of mostly MDF and sintra. Finished off with custom automotive paint finished and our special weathering technique.

Angelwing was amazing and took some shots of our ME riffles last weekend. I love how cool they look

My personal prop, FemShep has to coordinate her rifles to her armor , sometimes I am too girly for my own good. I am ready to change this out for lighter M-3 predator pistols, which will be ready in the next couple of weeks. I really love my rifle except that it is heavy to carry around at cons. Right now I am working on fixing my N7 armor, I am not happy with it...at all. Going to have new version ready for Dragon*con!!!!!

Creepy Inuyasha stalker is creepy.....and then Kagome smiled ....I think Kayla is worse about keeping a straight face than me. I am actually a bit bummed we only ever wore these to one con for a day. We were suppose to do an Inuyasha skit, I even bought an extra white wig for the occasion but I don't think that will be happening anymore.

I gotta give some love to all my cosplays...these like all the others are my babies, still tedious to make, the red jacked and the white under haori thing are lined, there was absolutely no hand stitching done to these which means, the sleeves are properly constructed and lined, took a bit of planning but I was very happy with the results. This cosplay is as authentic to Japanese attire of the period and accurate to the anime as I could make them. I'll try to take some close ups of the construction on these, I get asked a lot about them. The pants was just me improvising, trying to get that MC hammer look and have the seams match they are drawn (good thing ab extra seam can add more fullness), happy to say I only made one bad mock up. Most comfortable shoes for cosplay I have ever worn!!!!!

This is from back in November 2011, but right after that I was crazy busy and never got the chance to edit them. (sorry they are a bit grainy...I personally really don't care much for photography, I don't like taking pictures and then editing them, so upgrading photography equipment is at the bottom of my list, but I will be getting a flash and some new lenses....gotta get awesome pics of our props now and can't be bugging Sayuri and Angelwing for prop pics all the time in between cons)

This is exactly how the sword photographs with out any glow effect in post processing.

This is close up of sword hilt, was mostly made by ~Dionysus80. The blade is made out of wood planks glued together with an aluminum rod in the middle. Shaped with a belt sander. The hilt is made out of styrene, MDF, and the guard is made from two casted plastic pieces. ~Dionysus80 made one side, then we made a mold and casted the two sides to make the whole guard. The other hilt pieces are lathed and the end one contains the battery and switch. Painted with automotive paint.

SSTLC: Hades Sword and Collar

I accidentally hit the sword against something at the con and it has to be repainted....I feel kinda horrible since it was pretty deep and it now has to be repainted the whole thing, bc of the clear coat.

Sword was mostly made by ~Dionysus80. The blade is made out of wood planks glued together with an aluminum rod in the middle. Shaped with a belt sander. The hilt is made out of styrene, MDF, and the guard is made from tow casted plastic pieces. ~Dionysus80 made one side, then we made a mold and casted the two sides to make the whole guard. The other hilt pieces are lathed and the end one contains the battery and switch. Painted with automotive paint.

Collar is made out of expanded pvc and styrene, finished off with automotive paint

A full body shot of the entire cosplay, this is massive!! I almost tripped over myself walking on stage during the masquerade....luckily I didn't....if the god of the underworld would've tumbled down to floor=epic embarrassment
