Parrot Bush - Banksia Sessilis. I love the different stages of the flowers from the white columns with the green tips which then expand into 'puffs' and then the softness and colours as they fade through white to grey, to brown. These flowers are full of nectar and the parrots and bees love them. You can see the 'holly like' leaves around the front/centre brown flower - they are prickly, but I guess the parrots cope with that somehow. Anyway, it's another Australian native plant to share with my friends here.

Gazanias are a common wildflower here and come in every colour imaginable. I loved the cream of these three against the colour of the dead grasses.

Gazanias are a common wildflower here and come in every colour imaginable. I loved the cream of these three against the colour of the dead grasses.
