I HEART MEGANE OUJI. Kyouya started out basically the first half of Ouran as my favorite character (although halfway I totally fell for Kaoru, sorry megane-kun). To be perfectly honest, I'm not THAT obsessed with glasses guys, but I do love sarcastic sadists (>w<;

I bought the manga box set (half off on Cyber Monday OHOHOHO) as my Christmas present to myself last year [link] ! (^O^)/ It's so gorgeous and pink, I love it. Also the first long-running shoujo manga I've collected in its entirety. Ouran's perpetually in my top 5 shoujo manga, so yay~ totally worth it.

Anyway, I'm still totally weak to drawing roses and rose petals, more ridiculously girly things PLEASE

A friend of mine commissioned me for a Lelouch dakimakura and I KIND OF ADORE LELOUCH even if he's, you know, uh, kinda crazy and amoral and fabulous and yeaaaah. Sooo I was pretty happy to take this on~

Apparently it's pretty canon that Lulu basically wears black bikini briefs *SNERK* but I'm a terrible person who couldn't resist putting a Geass on them. I just want to imagine him dropping his pants and yelling "LELOUCH VI BRITANNIA COMMANDS YOU..." (pahahaha) My friend requested the Geass removed on her version though (and no nipples) nyoro~n.

Nowadays, I don't even remember how to cel shade in Photoshop because it's just so much more pleasant to do it in Illustrator. I've also managed to cut the time down somewhat significantly from China, so yay~

ANYWAY yeah, I've been taking dakimakura commissions lately, with absolutely NO SENSE OF SHAME so if you dream of cuddling up to a sexy anime guy or girl, note me. (I basically charge ~50-75% of Japan prices with free shipping~)

Yeah, I drew a China dakimakura ehehehe. The Char Aznable one was fun to make, but I really wanted someone else to hug, you know? (Just imagine me saying "Dakimakura~" in Kousaka Kirino's sing-songy voice from OreImo, mmkay?)

Anyway uh, I want to say I draw dakimakura ironically, but it's a lot of fun and I actually kind of actually like them... you know, ergonomic reasons for more restful sleep and all that >_>; yeeeeeeahhhh...

Originally I had planned to give China a big dragon tattoo on his back, which kind of explains the pose, but I didn't get to it. I guess if anyone who buys this really wants the tattoo, I'll add it in~

I wanted to try my hand at turning a black and white image into a color thing. There aren't actually that many good tutorials! I thought it might be especially interesting here, since the source image doesn't have Kenshin's normal outfit.

Did I mention I can't wait to watch the live-action RuroKen movie?!

I actually like the black and white version better though.

Sato Takeru from the live-action Rurouni Kenshin!!

I AM SO HYPED FOR THIS MOVIE. Not only is Sato Takeru ~~totally hot~~ visually perfect for the role, all the visuals and sets and the action look superb in the trailers. RuroKen was of course one of my favorite shounen series, but I think this past year, what with the hype of the new manga and Bluray releases and stuff, has made me excited about the franchise, GJ Shounen Jump.

Which reminds me, I really need to collect the manga for this and buy the Bluray. Discounted VizBig editions are the best thing ever. ONCE I GET MY PAYCHECK~

So, I can't imagine that anyone would actually complain, but just in case: Remember, kiddies, it's not offensive if you're BEATING the Nazis.

Got commissioned by a friend to draw and COPIC color "Wartortle doing something awesome. You decide what that means." What could be awesome than blowing up Nazis?

I think it may be a bit hard to tell, but the gist of the picture is "Wartortle blew up a Nazi base, Nazi helicopters came in pursuit, Wartortle shot them all down with an assault rifle, and now he's surfing away on the door of one of the downed helicopters, while playing the electric guitar."

I don't know how to draw helicopters or doors or rifles, and I am fully aware. Requesting some slack, for now!

Okay, this scan is kind of poop. I gotta figure out how to scan Copic better...

Goddess mode Madoka (and uh, Homura, Kyouko, Sayaka and Mami I guess?) from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Because while I'd rather revel is Kyubey's adorableness, Goddess Madoka is pretty beautiful too.

I paint stars and space backgrounds way too much >.> And clouds and skies. I think it's kind of just laziness, to be honest.

\(^0^)/ yay Korra~ I heart her character design.

Drew this almost completely on my iPad, aside from some finishing touches and image correction in Photoshop. I use Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, a great app that has a good number of brushes, eyedropper, 4 layers, decently high res (1500x2500ish, could be better but not bad at all), several undos, and some transform. I highly recommend it; I think it's a lot better than the other apps I tried, even (especially?) the Adobe ones.

Drawing the elements is fun~! Except I HATE DRAWING ROCKS D: Also fire is still really hard to render decently! I expected I'd kind of have it down more after that whole Roy Mustang Rapidash pic... The bg was fun to paint though. Skies and sunsets are great; they're pretty and not too difficult, and they successfully hide that I don't feel like drawing a background It's like shinydesu!

So anyway, after the incessant prodding of my pals, I watched this show and its predecessor recently, over the last month or so. I think it was kind of overhyped to me by my friends' hyperbolic praise, but it was p. good (and hilarious) for a shounen adventure anime www.

(Also Amon is TOTALLY the good guy in this show D:< Justice and equalityyyy)

Lum from Takahashi Rumiko's Urusei Yatsura! I felt like drawing something a little "old school," although really, does 80s qualify as old school? Not sure about that.

I once heard someone say that Lum was the "first moe character;" I don't know if that's true, but she is still pretty cute~

I LIKE DRAWING GIRLS IN BIKINIS EVEN THOUGH I DON'T SWING THAT WAY, OKAY?

Tried a different COPIC style-- less white on the skin. I kind of like the way it turned out-- looks a little more modern. The background is pastel-- normal pastels, this time. I blended with my finger, and it burned after a while (;^^) Also, I still love my white gel pen (when it works).

I looked around the internets and was pretty surprised that no one had done this before... Anyway, if you're not familiar, there's this very famous Touhou MAD called Bad Apple that features pretty gorgeous black-and-white 3D animation at [link]

I made a decal for various Apple products based on the vid (around 8 seconds in) of the shrine maiden Reimu. I did change up her design quite a bit-- the original is a bit more realistic (as much as you can tell from a silhouette), but I wanted to make her more perky bishoujo animuuu~ <3 I might actually make a non-silhouette version, although that might defeat the purpose.

Anyway, if you're a Touhou fan... well, lemme know what you think :3 I had to order a ton of these just to get mine, so I'm out a couple hundred bucks; if you like, please consider helping to take them off my hands m(_ _)m

(Original is also for sale, but only for the right price. I spent 100 hours on this and will not part with my baby for less than minimum wage, so I am perfectly content to turn down low offers.)

So, anyone who knows what's been up with me lately will know that this is pretty much all I've been working on in the last 2 months: ROY MUTHAF***ING MUSTANG RIDING A RAPIDASH IN THE STYLE OF DAVID'S NAPOLEON CROSSING THE ALPS or something.

Basically, this was ORIGINALLY just a joke, but then my friends told me I had to paint it... I was originally going to do it digital, but then we found this THIRTY X FORTY inch canvas at the art store and... I was screwed.

Easily the most intense piece I've ever done, clocking in at over 100 hours (and beating out Coquettish Ciel Phantomhive). I... pretty much never want to do anything this scale again, ahahaha. ESPECIALLY IF IT'S JUST A JOKE.

If you're coming to Otakon 2011, I'll have it on display there in the art show! Technically it's for sale, but I've spent so much time (and tears) on this that I'm pretty much not going to part with it for less than like FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS (which is still nearly half minimum wage...)

The Rapidash was so fun to paint, but Roy was a pain, probably because I totally couldn't decide whether to make him more anime-ish or more realistic. I guess it's kind of in the middle. Nature backgrounds... I could work on more. Tell me what you think.

Three Kingdoms Peach Girls

I AM A TERRIBLE PERSON AND DESERVE TO BE SMACKED.

This probably isn't that crazy if you don't know Romance of the Three Kingdoms, BUT...

So... these are the three brothers from the Peach Garden Oath of the Chinese classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms... now reinterpreted as magical girls... which is kind of a travesty, considering that they're supposed to be these manly, manly men and badass awesome fighters.

Basically, I watched a lot of really bad anime involving the Three Kingdoms heroes reinterpreted as girls, and I kind of wanted to do a magical girl theme >.>;;;

Anyway, I guess the story behind the image is as such:
Class president Xuanxuan, lone wolf delinquent Yunyun, and party girl Yiyi live normal lives as three students at Shu Middle School-- until one day, a 1700 year old dragon appears and tells them that they are vessels for the souls of the three heroes of the Peach Garden Oath, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei! Apparently, because the heroes did not fulfill their Peach Garden Oath (to all die on the same day), they-- and the rest of the Three Kingdoms cast-- have been reincarnated to get a second chance at history. Together, they transform into the Peach Girls* to fight such dastardly foes as the Yellow Scarf demons and Cao Cao, a mysterious, evil lady (AHAHA) bent on world domination.

*translation from Chinese, which has notoriously bad magical girl names

...or something.

Anyway, uh this was fun. Unfortunately, I think that the only girl who is somewhat recognizable is Guan Yu... Who would have thought that turning macho middle aged men into cute middle school moe anime girls would be difficult D:

Anyway anyway, I should probably note that the background portraits of the original heroes was a paint-over of a 3D head model from PoseManiacs-- because otherwise, my realism skills are more teh suck. Also, I am so never painting facial hair again.

HigaEden - Eden of the Apple

Eden of the East! It's probably my favorite anime <3 It's got conspiracies and romance and a cheery mischievous hero and a mysterious game and English and huge sums of cash, which are all awesome things in my book.

I've been wanting to do a Higashi no Eden fanart for a while (of course a Takizawa one~~~), and then ANN suddenly announced a contest, so I thought it'd be a good time. The contest requires using the series logo and the Funimation logo, which is actually pretty good because the series has tons of logos and cool graphic design and stuff (and I totally have a thing for ad design www). The pink stripey street and the curls are an homage to the original opening, which is a great OP and I totally recommend.

The street is supposed to be Times Square, which is one of my favorite places on Earth (I am totally a city person). I ended up kind of running out of logos so I started repeating some and using small symbols from the show.

Anyway, the contest requires <600x800 and <300kb (so tiny omg; I usually work 3000x4000), so I won't be uploading the high res high quality version until afterwards.

ALSO I just have to mention that ILLUSTRATOR'S DISTORT TOOL SUCKS seriously, as a vector program, I would think it should be better than Photoshop guuuuh.

This image was born from a rather bad pun. Basically, the Japanese version of "Gotta catch 'em all" is "ポケモンゲットだぜ!" or "Pokemon getto da ze!"

One of my friends saw this and misread it as "Pokemon ghetto daze" XD;

Thanks to my guy friends who know much more about this kind of aesthetic than I do for helping me with it. Also, graffiti is hard D: I don't know anything about how it should look ahahaha.

Kouyouen no Suzumiya Haruhi

I saw Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu (Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) last year in May at the Viz Cinema, and loved it. Wonderful story and gorgeous animation. It totally more than made up for the travesty that is Endless Eight.

Kouyouen uniform Haruhi! I really like this uniform about a thousand times better than the North High one. I guess I like mature blazers; a sailor suit is just not sexy enough to me

I originally went for realism, but I can never pull that off, so yaaay stylized big eyes >.>

Based on this image of Kato Kazuki [link] from his 2009 calendar. I like the idea of sexualizing a character's passion for something that is very asexual like art or music... sort of like this feel of "I don't need a woman, I've devoted my heart to something else already!" or something

Anyway, yeah, Len's one of my favorites. I like the mature feel of Spice! and such, sort of this image of a late teenager who's sexily adult for his age, but still mischievous.

I think I drew him way too skinny D: also, don't ask me what's behind the keytar! >.>;

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a magical girl series, but quite different-- very dark and rather cruel, and not what you expect. It's quite good. I think it could be crueler though, but maybe I'm just sadistic.

Kyubey is already adorable [link] but I was just thinking that I wanted to make it SICKENINGLY cute-- sparkly eyes, blush marks, shinies, the whole nine yards. Also went a little SHAFTy with the cutouts and background (checkerboard patterns? Shinbo, I so approve), but with a PRETTIFULLER twist~

Whoa, it's a not-fanart!

Wanted to draw an angel with a rose theme (I guess it's more like a fairy?). The idea for this actually came about kind of strangely; I was looking at pics for a figure of Dizzy from Guilty Gear, and at the small size, the faces on her wings kind of looked like roses-- which I thought was quite cool, so I did this.

Originally, the arms were supposed to be bare with a lacy mesh glove, but I screwed up miserably on them, so I covered them up with paint. Not too happy with the result

The entire thing used a loooooot of silver sharpie, white gel pen, and white paint :3 Three things I love to use; they make it so shiny!

Still not too sold on the background-- I think it's pretty, but it looks too marine. Might change it, but not sure yet.

Hetarike Witches - Japan

This piece is dedicated to any fans of both Hetalia and Strike Witches-- you are a rare unicorn and deserve great praise for your amazing feat of existing, if you do at all, which I suspect you do not and therefore I am talking to an imaginary entity.

MASSIVE CROSSOVER TIME~ Hetalia is about anthropomorphized (mostly) male countries engaging in battle with each other during World War II. Strike Witches is about anthropomorphized female aircraft (kinda) engaging in battle with aliens during World War II. IT KIND OF WORKS. Especially since the characters in each wear versions of their respective countries' WW2 uniforms.

So this is Honda Kiku/Japan crossed over with Sakamoto Mio. Since I figure most of you dA people know Hetalia, I'll explain a bit about Strike Witches:

SO THERE'S THESE GIRLS who have magical powers that give them animal traits and let them fuse their legs with special aircraftish Striker Units that let them fly in the sky in their panties (they're not panties, they're trousers, so it's not embarrassing!) and shoot down aliens. And yes, it's as ludicrous as it sounds. And yes, Japan is therefore wearing a sukumizu >.>;; And no, I didn't think about it too much.

So THE PLAN IS I am making an entire series of Hetalia characters corresponding to all the Witches of the 501st (at least from season 1). Because I can and it'll be fun even if no one can possibly appreciate the joke YAAAAAAY!!

Wait, I thought I was going to stop drawing Miku ARGH.

Anyway, this is kind of a spiritual successor to [link] in that it's an emo-goth interpretation of CUTE ANIME GIRL. I've said it before, but Miku's teal is my absolute favorite color, and I thought it'd be fun to do a goth-ish piece with that, instead of the typical blood red or hot pink.

I really wanted to draw a background for once, and color it with PanPastel (which I've totally falled in love with). The background and setting was kind of inspired by the atelier in Paradise Kiss, like the idea of a secret place beyond a set of stairs. Originally, I couldn't think of what to put on the wall, and suddenly I thought HEY A WALL OF ROSES and even before I started drawing, inking, shadowing, coloring, highlighting, re-tinting, and shiny-ifying the 121 roses, I immediately regretted it.

Really liked how the stone came out though. I wanted to make it marble but turned out I couldn't really pull it off.

A cone cake-- it's like a cupcake, but in an ice cream cone. Illustrator.

I was talking to folks in my anime club about how we could fundraise... Originally I had been thinking we could make homemade Pocky, but people weren't too hot on the idea. Someone suggested cupcakes, and then we got onto the trail of KAWAII cupcakes. For fun, I churned it out in Illustrator. I might sell little keychains of this guy too.

I've started really using Illustrator a lot. I like it; I can make really clean, cute vectors really quick. Not so keen on using it for humans though, at least not from scratch.

In case you're wondering, we're thinking of using chocolate chips for the eyes, maybe some licorice for the mouth and some kind of red gummies for the blush. Hopefully we can make them in different flavors, too!

Dakimakura design of Char Aznable from Mobile Suit Gundam. Pencils by me, inks by , a few base colors by , and full colors and final stuff by me.

1) What's a dakimakura? It's a hug pillow that's popular with some really hardcore moe otaku in Japan-- usually it has the image of an anime character, with a clothed version on the front and a risque version on the back, set to look like she's lying on a bed.
2) Why Char? My friend runs this hilarious and totally NSFW comic called Mistakes of Youth, and one of the early comics depicted his self-insert character (although he claims it's not a self-insert! hahaha) givin' some lovin' to a Char dakimakura (because it's not gay if it's Char!). Since he just graduated, my friends and I were like YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE FUNNY? And yeah.

COPIC marker of China and Japan I did a LOOOOOOOONG time ago. I totally forgot to upload it until now.

I pretty much did this the night before AnimeBoston, and it took a long time and I was really proud of it, but no one really liked it and I felt really heartbroken. Looking back on it more objectively 4 months later, I can see so many of the problems with it, so I guess it makes sense... Story of our lives right?

I guess my style is too unattractive anyway. I know it's frowned upon to judge your art by whether other people like it or not, but I dunno, I think it makes sense-- after all, you display art to show other people, right? Some people paint just for themselves, and I guess that's fine, but if I want to decorate my house with art, I'll use some by people who are better LOL.

I think I might try to use a more pretty moe, cel-shaded, eroge type of drawing style from now on and see if that makes a difference. I think I spent too many years trying to draw with an influence from realism (but without being good enough at realism to be convincing there), so my body proportions weren't as cute (hence all my girls being fat, and Japan here having some man boob pecs), but that doesn't really work with an anime style lol.

Basically, I really like Hartmann's design [link] with the sharp black SS (Schutzstaffel) uniform and the black dachshund-ear sidebang trim... I just kind of wanted to draw an SS-style uniform, but it felt more natural to draw it on a guy, and Prussia, with his white hair and red eyes, really worked as a base.

But it's not actually an SS uniform! I took out the insignia and stuff because I really think Nazis are pretty offensive. I just like the clean black uniform look! /disclaimer

... And yeah.

This is probably the first piece that I've done by painting completely in black and white first, and adding color with Photoshop blending modes. I think it worked okay. When I finished it, one of my friends pointed out that this kind of pseudo-realism style (with big noses) is kind of ugly and not very popular... I guess it's kind of weird that I draw in that style since I normally really like beautiful animu ladies with flawless skin and cute petite noses. I think after this, I might try to work on drawing PRETTY THINGS since I guess it's kind of disheartening when your paintings are kind of BUSU.

Anyway, the real VN02 Mix Miku uses a light green, but since I am in love with Hatsune Miku teal, I used that instead. This ended up being a mixed media piece, which I always enjoy-- Miku is done in COPIC, the background is watercolor, the white spray is acrylic, and the upper and lower borders are silver Sharpie on a paper cutout.

I've never actually played Touhou; I'm really bad at that kind of shooter game. Watching playthroughs is awesome though... gamer otaku are an amazing race.

Anyway, I like Reimu's design. Detached sleeves are awesome~ Actually, I'm pretty sure that the mascots for the Taiwanese con I went to last year (Fancy Frontier 14) were totally ripped off of her.

I haven't attempted realism in a while... it's hard and I can never get it right, but it's also a lot of fun. I feel like this picture looks okay on its own, but when you compare it to the original, it's awful. Thankfully, Tegonyan's hairstyle in this pic is so voluminous that it's at the point that it doesn't matter that it doesn't look like the original, I feel.

Anyway, I really like Tegonyan. Cute, funny, easy to make fun of... and the fact that an idol is willing to do a sexy, off-kilter photoshoot like this is really refreshing! An idol really should be able to make fun of him or herself on national television, like Tegonyan did in the Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge drama.

...in case you didn't catch it, this is a guy. As in, not a girl. XD

Kouzuki Kallen Stadtfeld from Code Geass!

I've been hanging out with a bit too much recently. He's into mecha musume/mecha shoujo-- girls who are part mecha or have mecha attachments. Originally, I was really adverse to such a thing, but before I realized, I'd bought a Gundam Wing mecha girl poster which is now on my wall...

Anyhoo, Kallen is awesome and I love her. I really have an adoration for kickass, brash, tomboyish tsundere. Actually, I think I might like Lelouch better as a character, but I'll readily admit that Kallen is superior.

So! uh, yeah, this was all done in Illustrator. Or rather, the lineart was handdrawn and vectorized, but all the coloring is vector. I really like cel shading in vector--it's a lot faster and feels a lot cleaner. I feel like whenever I cel shade, I want to be a bit painterly, and vice versa, though.

But anyway, I like the way this turned out-- I like adding gradients to vector. I could have done more, added some shines and stuff, but it's already quite busy so I think it's better that I didn't. The background was actually an accident from playing around the Illustrator filters, but I really liked how it came out. AI filters are pretty cool.

and me as China and Hong Kong from Axis Powers Hetalia at AnimeBoston I'm holding a HAND-CRAFTED ERHU created by the crazy talented ... oh my lord, it was THE COOLEST THING ever. *[]* We took quite a few pics, going to snag them from when I get the chance. I'm pretty much a casual cosplayer and I spent only like $15 on this costume, but that's okay because I had fun~

Anyway yeah, this was like the first cosplay that I did that people actually really recognized (getting spotted as Yamapi!Kurosagi by one tiny group of hardcore Johnny's fangirls last year doesn't count). I had a Makinami Mari Illustrious cosplay I did on Friday, but only 2-3 people knew who I was; I guess people don't really know much about the new Eva movies. I got mistaken for China a bit in the Hong Kong cosplay; if that ever happens again, ~jtlan's going to be like "In all the world, there is only one China!"

But yeah, ~jtlan was a great, fun China and got a lot of people hugging him and thanking him for being the only Asian male China cosplayer XD and it was fun watching him call out "Come back to me!" to all the Taiwans (Note: "Come back to me!" of course means that they're not currently the same entity yes/yes?). Also, we spotted this really awesome UK cosplayer and she ~~cursed me~~ gave me UK eyebrows hehehe! It was hard to stay in character, since all we know about Hong Kong is that he's kind of stoic, and how can you be stoic at a con?!

Poor Gumi and Gakupo. Also, I think their scandals are a little more obscure, so I guess I should explain them (although explaining a joke means that you failed at it, doesn't it...). Gumi's says that she's the clone of an alien singer-- with the kira kira pose, this obviously refers to Ranka Lee from Macross F, who's 1/4 alien and was the basis for Megpoid. Get it? And Gakupo, based on Gackt, is an undead corpse because like Gackt, he's supposedly an immortal from an ancient time-- Gakupo's a samurai, Gackt is Scandinavian vampire born in 1540, same thing.

The other scandals were a bit of a stretch mostly, especially Rin's.

Editor-san said that he's afraid the last panel might be obscure since no one knows who Miki, Kiyoteru and Yuki are yet....

Miku's actually my favorite Vocaloid, but I'm also frustrated at how overrepresented she is. It felt kind of weird to draw her as a bitch, but it still made me excited~ throughout the comic, she has the most wardrobe changes, and coming up with her outfits is like dressing up a doll, it's fun.

Secret project revealed!

, , , and I started a doujinshi circle after 24 Hour Comics Day last year. We'd mostly just been doing drawing exercises with the plan to eventually produce a doujinshi, but when we suddenly found out in early March that we were getting an Artists' Alley table at AnimeBoston, we FOOLISHLY decided to start and finish a Vocaloid doujin in one month's time!

BUT! It is done! And I'm actually pretty proud of how fast I worked, I've never had deadlines quite like this before

The doujin is called Medley, and my chapter is Vocabloid. Kind of a strange title, but I think it makes sense at the end.

For once, my favorite character in the series is also the beloved goddess to otaku, although I imagine I like Mio for different reasons that others might.

I know it looks pretty bad... and she's kind of chunky... I'm sorry, Mio. I think I have a tendency to draw girls a little uh, curvy, since that's what I'm used to, but it usually doesn't look very good... (And please don't point out her cancer hands and the giant guitar, I'm already full of shame...)

Another piece I did a few months ago. I was kind of in a watercolor phase at the time. I think these things look nice as originals but crappy in reproduction, lesigh.

I'm running a panel on Doraemon for AnimeBoston, following this year's theme of "Mad Science" (since I'm not terribly interested in other sci-fi anime hahaha). Last year, I did Detective Conan; I guess I'm really stuck on these kids' (?) shows that are super popular in Japan but that no one cares about over here :V

My panel's at 11AM on Friday. It's pretty early, so I don't really expect anyone to come... most people will still be in reg lines >_>;

So, I did this drawing and the painting several months ago, but I only got around to uploading it now. It's Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid.

The foreground is watercolor, but after looking at a bunch of random screencaps from Akiyuki Shinbo shows, I had this weird urge to use noise filters and dot tone patterns. So it's kind of weird.

If you're getting sick of seeing me draw Vocaloid stuff, I'm sad to say that you ain't seen nothing yet. SEKRIT PROJECT is complete and will be uploaded shortly!

I'm alive; actually, I've been drawing a lot recently, but I just haven't had a chance to upload.

Senjougahara Hitagi-sama from Bakemonogatari. The pose is based on the ending theme, Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari by supercell [link] .

If you haven't seen Bakemonogatari yet, you're missing out, and I'm serious about that. It's pretty classy, and one of the recent anime that's actually pretty undeniably good. Recently, the guys at my anime club have really been in SHAFT, the animation studio known for kind of cool, quirky, experimental stuff (or rather, they've been into it for a while, but I guess it surfaced more recently).

Miku teal is my favorite color~ I love unnaturally colored roses~

The coloring is mostly just hue/saturation from the original version; actually, I painted the piece with both versions in mind, so some parts were colored to be Miku and some parts were colored to be Ciel.

I can't decide which dress I'd like to own and wear more ^_^ Toboso has such a sense of fashion.

I started working on this in June, but took a break of many months. The dress and ruffles took FOREVER; I ended up doing a lot of copypasta and warping for all the ruffles. I liked the end result though; I think this is one of my best pieces.

Got really excited to use a lot of gorgeous lace, stripes and checkers, and marbled textures. I want to do more pieces in this style.

A game prototype made during the Spring 2009 semester for my class CMS.610 Media Industries and Systems. The point of the class is basically to learn about game development, make a working demo of a video game, and prepare a pitch for a panel of judges (all actual video game designers or company head management types).

The story essentially goes that the main character, Vega Polaris, is a tech on Anemoi Station, a space station that loses power due to some unknown cause. The Gravity Polarizer, which affects the station's orientation, still works, so the player has to guide her through various rooms to find the control room and fix everything.

Done by a team of 5 individuals over the span of about 8 weeks. created the concept and did most of the programming, I did all the art. It's not quite as polished as my GAMBIT games but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out-- got to bust out Illustrator ~~even though everyone wanted me to use Flash~~ and learned how to animate ~~crappily~~.

There were 2 teams and 2 projects, but we got all six of the judges' votes =w=. Currently we're working on making this an iPhone game, so hopefully that'll come out nicely~

So the story is that a lot of Korean government officials pressured the Hetalia broadcaster in Japan to take it down because they considered the portrayal of Korea in the series to be racist.

It's a bit more complicated than this of course... but that's kind of asking for a caricature though...

I dunno, I'm kind of Chinese and American and I think these two countries are portrayed just as badly if not worse ;;;

But I love Koreans (=w~~~ I've never met a real Korean who was as crazy as Korea (unfortunately?)
