Adventures in Robinsitting (also known as "A Dark Knight on the Town" in certain countries) is a 1987 American superhero comedy film. Although it is set in Narrows and Gotham City, with much of the action taking place in the city itself, the movie was filmed primarily in Metropolis. The film revolves around Babs Gordon being entrusted to the care of a millionaire's adopted sons and ward and the misadventures that occur along the way.

(If you can't tell, we're HUGE fans of Drew Struzan. Apologies, Mr. Struzan!)

Bebop by the Space Cowboys

Bebop is the seventh single by the Space Cowboys, released on April 3, 1998. It became an immediate Top 10 hit in the Tokyo Singles Chart, earning millions of woolongs.

The song did not attract much notice in the United States upon its initial global release, but received very early airplay at highly influential CNAS as early as September 2, 2001. After the bands breakthrough hit Asteroid Blues, radio programmers paid closer attention to the catchy melody and insistent, intricate jazz rhythm of the band.

It is one of the bands most recognizable songs, mostly due to its famous music video, which is widely regarded as symbolic of science fictions glamour and excess.

When I graduated with my doctorate in 2011, Robert Simpson gave me a prized book: "The Art of Drew Struzan."

In it was the inscription, "You got the Touch."

So... after months of studying this book, I thought, why not make a painting in the same style? The art of the illustrated poster has gone unappreciated. While I can't mimic Struzan's complex and rich style, I hope this will inspire more artists to follow suit.

(This is also an homage to the famous Transformers #1 cover by Bill Sienkiewicz)

(I've hidden a small joke in the title... it has something to do with the artist who inspired the style of this piece )

This is a more than 6 month old project done by myself and collaborator Jean Luc Pham to close out our Alphonse Mucha / Art Nouveau selection. Personal events caused a significant delay in its completion, but I am happy to finally unveil it in its finished form.

Profit from the sale of prints and cards will go towards a Catholic charity soon to be named. We hope you enjoy this closing work for 2011.

The volcano is located in the Cascade Range and is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc, a segment of the Pacific Ring of Fire that includes over 160 active volcanoes. This volcano is well known for its transforming alien inhabitants and strange satellites that like to scan vehicles while screaming "EXPLORE! EXPLORE!"

Tales from the Zone, The Zone of Fear, and The Tower of Horror were three bi-monthly comics published by TZ Comics in the early 1960's. Tales from the Zone hit newstands with its October 2, 1959 issue and ceased publication on June 19, 1964. Most of its themes revolved around strange tales such as mysteries floating in the pool, a hitchhiker with no face, and some kind of monster.

No one really knows the meaning behind this expressionist painting, though some hints in the brushwork suggest that the artist is meaning to convey the profound anguish that a robot feels as irony shoots it in the face while a demonic god-robot / planet looks on.

The Cybertrony Night

The Cybertron-y Night is a painting by Iaconian impressionist Vincent van Gogh-bot. The painting depicts a giant planet-eating monster descending upon Iacon City as a crazy resurrected tyrant-bot overlooks. As a Catholic, and as a Christian in general, I'm often asked (or told) to explain the nature of the Trinity (one God in 3 Persons). It is a bit of a mystery that takes time and study to completely understand.

So I came up with this example, albeit an imperfect one: Liam Neeson. He's one guy, sure, but if you watch three of his movies at once, he's ONE Liam, an actor, representing THREE persons... at the SAME TIME!

Thank you, Liam Neeson, for helping us to (hopefully) better understand through an imperfect analogy the perfect nature of God.

Tonight's story on The Twilight Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. On a given morning not too long ago, the rest of the world disappeared, save for one small town. Its inhabitants were never sure whether the world was destroyed or whether their small town was taken away. They were, on the other hand, sure of one thing: the cause. A monster. Just by using his mind, he took away the automobiles, the electricity, the machines - because they displeased him - and replaced them with tyrannosaurs in F-15's, chainsaw Batman, and an unmarried-Spider-Man who sold his marriage to the Devil - just by using his mind.

His name is Calvin.
