Valentines Day is a special day for all lovers; however have you ever stopped to think what a sad day the 14th February actually is for all those who have been denied the love in one way or another?

Heartless portrays the “heart” of people who have denied such love to others, however I do not believe that anyone could really be completely Heartless hence the “blood” seeping out of cracks and wounds. Who knows, eventually the stone heart might completely crack to reveal a loving heart on the inside…………

I picked up a stone from the beach which vaguely resembled a heart, then headed home and with the help of some tools I soon had a stone heart to photograph The “wounds” are natural dents in the stone while the cracks and blood have been added in photoshop (which is why I categorised this deviation as a photomanipulation)

These are a series of supports for a handrail which run along a flight of stairs that used to lead to a bridge connecting the breakwater to the mainland at the mouth of Grand Harbour. "If we take the white to be life and the red to be love, they need eachother for life to mean anything - whoever or whatever we may love, it is impossible to not love anything. Be it a partner, parents, friends, God, unfortunately; even money. Love slowly grows into a whole, which is what I suspect we will be seeing further into the series. Love transforms our life into something meaningful.
If the white symbolizes cold - love warms up our life. It that warm feeling in your stomach which is constantly fighting against any coldness in a relationship, making us forget any "wrongs" which have been done to us."
