i really want to return to human art but I suck at them ._. I never got a chance to return to humans since most of my art time fantasy animals, landscapes and creatures occupy my time and when I try, I get so discouraged.

i tend getting like, while drawing face and I go "ohh, yeah, looks nice!", getting excited and then after few more lines I screw them so easily and quit.

I don't have anymore that awesome wooden "desk", but ugly white one in terrible lightning to take photos but oh well ._. I love having sketches composed with natural wooden desk. I know that one will remind some of the way how alector takes photos of sketches, but that's really where I got inspired to do photos of sketches since I think they express a lot more emotions and meaning than just scanned sketches :3

Well... that commission is not completed because I have to do a triforce and circle surroundings behind wolf as commissioner asked me to do as tattoo for their friend. However, personally I really like how Link in wolf form has turned out and wanted to submit it alone before placing designs. Personally I'm a huge fan of that beast because of very unique, beast-y design. Technically in general wolf link is a beast in a wolf shape, not a wolf. I tried to keep shapes and expressions which typically Link Wolf has, than "real life wolf" shapes. = P

I'd say it's collaboration between me and =Ahkward She did a fast sketch of landscape in person, which I saw and really liked. I liked her idea and choice of unusual colors. Then I decided to adopt it and do a full painting digitally, yep I'm proud of it because I have no skill to finish my digital pieces but this one feels more completed than most of my others... I really want to learn doing complex digital illustration and landscapes which I admire from many skilled artists- which I really struggle to achieve what I want. With digital, I have a very bad color perception and mixing which is an opposite world than what I do traditionally and as well polishing shapes and textures.
I need to stop getting so discouraged and keep trying. Trying and trying.

Beasts of Ragnarok Commission

Regular Sketch commission for :devLawhanWolves: of wolves of Ragnarok: fiercious Skoll, Fenrir the beast and lunar Hati with chain- symbolizing that brothers by devouring Sun and Moon will break the chains of torment which imprisioned Fenrir.

Unfortunately just found out that the laser of scanner is damaged. Scanned images have terrible irregular contrast and lightning, causing intense light beam on middle. I had to twitch image a bit to restore it's natural look the best as I could... oh well. I hope the commissioner to enjoy in person it's original drawing :>

Unconditional Love

Why deeply down I feel like that I love my own dog than anyone else when I stare on her eyes?
Why I feel more comfortable with her than anyone else?

I love my family, close people and as well my beloved partner. I have people which I love but with my dog, there is something very special....

I can hug my dog so easily and at any time.
Dog will always gaze at me with happiness.
When I'm upset, I always hug her. I sleep with her.
I feel comfortable with her than anyone else. Even more than with my partner.

Why I am still feeling a bit shy to look on eyes at my best friend or boyfriend, but at my dog, there is unconditional connection between us.
I feel at my place. Comfortable.
A comfort.

Is that because dogs are free from the greed and sins? That we feel less anxious than with anyone else? Will always forgive us? That there is no mental pressure and fear between that connection?
Or maybe it's because I lost trust to humans? I have social anxiety? I don't trust people... Or maybe I want to escape?
And yet, also, the dogs has achieved unconditional love than us, humans. For humans it's hard to achieve....

I don't know how you feel about it but that's how I feel. Me and my dog, Arnaq, have created wonderful connection eachother that I never experienced before, despite that she is a wild canid. For me on this drawing where I drew a Greenland dog- as wild, unbroken and the closest dogs to the Nature symbolize raw power of unconditional relationship between the dog and the Master.
Not only love gave a trust eachother but also discipline to create a balance between us.
Just a quick personal sketch of myself (or whatever) and dog.

700 mile

We were at faraway remote villages to photograph checkpoints of Iditarod race. I swear, the best experience comes when you are on distant checkpoints. Experiencing Iditarod with only Willow or Ceremonial Day races without checkpoints is nothing. The real Iditarod is on the trail, not on start nor finish.
I cannot get over how amazing experience was in remote areas. Far away from civilization.

As I've been and witnessed in many mushing events, participated, handled and so on, I've seen dogs crossing the finish line after run and resting... but on Iditarod, I've never seen such exhausted dogs! As soon as they crossed the checkpoint line, stopped for break they instantly went to sleep. They were so tired that...

... that's right, these dogs ran 700+ miles at that moment. Here how a dog after 700 miles looks like.

I really admire the legendary, wonderful stamina of these athletic animals. I can also tell that they really enjoy that run. That was so beautiful for me to watch them for couple hours, observe and feel them that I almost cried.

Iditarod The Last Great Race on Earth

I think it's not the best photo of mine because on that day unluckily a nasty mist came and... ruined a few of photos' quality of details. And SLT camera is very sensetive for details, if something goes wrong, like any motion blur or mist- it ruins the quality of details, unlike DSLR cameras. I tried my best to not play too much with ISO settings for misty weather. Oh well.
There are just too many pros and cos with SLT and DSLR cameras. Next time I'll go with DSLR, despite that I'll mist amazing, perfect AF and it's speed.

It's that legendary Iditarod 1000 mile sled dog race which I've witnessed for couple days.
As I've been in many mushing events mostly in Europe and significant ones.... I will say that the experience of Iditarod is so unique... the best mushing even I've ever seen. Honestly, obviously I was fascinated to see that race but not at cost of my more important priors. Like it wasn't "oh a must to see" for me. But I got a blessing opportunity to go... with all my hard work, smart planning and organizing and all of it is because of my photography job. I'm doing a photographic coverage for Europe. I thought that woud be very worthy experience for me with my travel reports career which I'm dreaming to do since my art pathway does not seems to work well for me. Anymore.

That was the first day of race, known as Ceremonial Start. Lucky people (who can afford 500$+ to seven thousands of dollars) to win auction and get a place on ride on Iditarod mushers sled dogs.... no, I wouldn't call them lucky but peopl who worked hard (edit: at the first I used wrong wording, I meant: worked hard, not hardly working) for that money to realize their little or big dream to be on a ride on Iditarod race. I hate calling that people are lucky to do something. I respect every person's work and it's part of some kind of work. No matter what is that kind of work but they did something to achieve for sure. Maybe we can use the term of "lucky" because they were born at rich family or got wealthy partner but I am not really sure about that anyway...

Also I'd like to mention that Iditarod race was the hardest mushing event that I've ever photographed. It was so crowded that I don't even. Gladly I had media ID, it helped a lot... but there were situations where it didn't help *stares at mad and crazy media photographers* and as well that "fun" with checkpoints which gives a hell headache.

Anyway, I'm saying - really, it's really worthy to visit the Iditarod race. Go for it if you have a chance to do. Especially if you are a big fan of mushing or are musher, to experience it from 6 am how whole Alaska is waking up for that dreamy race- it feels like a dream.

Dance of Light and Darkness

An experimental commission for ~Crysomandiaz
I wanted to create something with... dreamy feel. Realistic and unrealistic.

I'm type of person with improved vision- where my vision is in absolute focus. In effect during night time I have so vivid and real dreams that I often to mix my dream world with reality where I happen to mistake events which happened only in dreams with reality in my memory! And sometimes when I wake up, I tend getting slightly depressed because how much I love dream world life... I really wonder if dreams are sort of another world? I believe in that.

Anyway, those dreamy skies with unrealistic "smudgy whooop!" were inspired from my dream.

As I'm obsessive photographer (many of you don't know because I dont post nor talk much about it), I happen to see the most magical, unique and beautiful landscapes and light combinations. I get into "woooah" hype, pull out my camera and take photos. I was so happy that I took such... incredible photos of wonders. Then I wake up, and realize these photos doesn't exist in my memory card.
What a bummer.

Or I cant stand when my shutter in camera doesn't work when I want to take most omgfgholymolly photos in dreams. It always happens.

Why I'm obsessed with photos? Because as a vision person, I rely mostly on my sight. My memories are based on visual pictures in my mind and I awake them through pictures. Pictures are also sort of "proof" of your book which tells you about life. Some kind (for me of course) of legacy of what I've done (to myself, for my own sake of my life) and so on. Gah I feel like I'm babbling some bullshit where no one cares... yeah why I type this? Who cares about weird stuff which I typed.... though, I felt to type down because that connects to my painting above. I've been thinking about dreams, visions and my phantoms while painting this.

PS: In case if anyone might ask me or think... no I don't smoke, nor take any drugs or even herbal drugs such like marihuana. I'm a person who is absolutely free of that stuff.... and I've never been drunk in my life (obviously slightly buzz yes). I'm very lucky (yes I treat it as a huge blessing, despite many people find that's uncool, lame and doofus that I don't drink nor get drunk. Some of them make fun of me.) being as a person with absolute no interest in alcohol. I like a beer just only for taste and pinacolada ( *BecSparrow clearly remembers how I have hard time to drink a beer.. ).

I did this sketch about.... 9 months ago? That pencil drawing was done on flight from LGA for my friend =Rawliett as a gift. I've met her a couple years ago as a watcher of my works through DA but now we are brilliant irl friends with amazing, passionate travel plans :>

I really cherish that unique opportunity on devART where I've met many fantastic people and artists, not mentioning online but with many of them I've became friends with till now. Friendships and connections which I greatly value. I could write how it is fantastic just tons of pages…. literally a book.
Every person which I've met and experienced the time with them was an unique chapter of the story because one person I've met locally and another which was thousands of miles away! Every person which I've met, was from a different cuture and has shown a piece of their world which I witnessed. It was so magical, I felt like I was travelling in the time.

I very treasure all friends which I've met through devART and became irl ones. Like naturally I feel knowing them since ever, not just empty, virtual online people.

Where that person lives, if that's about a few miles or thousands- it's regardless. When destiny will show a brilliant light (a friendship/connection) and will build a rainbow bridge that our meeting will happen. As long both sides want. I always want. I don't see a distance. Unlike many people who question "oh how is possible!", I see a rainbow bridge.

"Can I be friends with u???" "no, u can't!"

Many people think that usually good artists only want to be friends with good one… aka "elitist" circle- but no, that's just a stereotype I think. Especially for me that's how it is. For me it's really regardless if you are just a watcher, popular artist or amazing artist.
I've met and became friends in person with many brilliant artists and as well watchers… actually, I think more amazing friends I have are watchers than artists.

All what determines… is the connection. I believe there is some kind of energy in the universe. To simply put, the best way is to be "yourself" and be natural person. I've seen so many people who pursued to be friends with me because of selfish benefits such like (OMG I'm friends with awesome artist!!one11) or if people are looking blindlessly for my art not me as a human or treat me like higher than by themselves they are (being as a minors on their own wish) which naturally threw me off and I never became friends with any of these. Of course to be a fan of someone's works is okay but what determines is the interest with that person behind the pictures. Artist but view as a human. A human which may be right for you or not.

So simply to say, it's impossible to be friends so straightly asked "can we be friends?" where a friendship is natural (and long!) process of building bonds, which involves many unexpected events to strike happen to build a bond between people. It's like a chemistry. Friendships so straightly asked without any process is a fake friendship. Pretendful one. It's very much same like you find a pretty girl on a street and walk to her by saying "can we become lovers?"?
All questions "can we become friends" I will treat like someone is straightly asking me if I can love someone so suddenly. And pursuing for friendship with artist because is popular/awesome artist will end as awful experience for people.

PS: That's what I miss today on devART. I find there are much less value interactive people with glimpse of humanity, passion and a living soul behind computer like it was before.

I was on that video conference (on time on this morning) and do think the sixth generation's legendaries are really awesome so far. I love that bird, where personally I assume it's a phoenix and it's unique design. (head is a bit lame but whatev)
That elk is also awesome although blue-ness bothers me since it makes unnatural/digimon-y/robotic. Starters suck as usually.

That bird creature represents me of so much fury. Furious, outrageous and apocalyptic. I find in him inspiration of Nordic mythology or even, Ragnarok. I view that creature as furious, doom-y and ragnarok presence.
FYI: before people start commenting, I'm absolutely not theorizing, I know they are more likely based on chromosones, but that's my own interpretation and feeling of that design. I'm not interested in crazy theorizing like on pkbeach forums they do.

This is just my sketch of him, with obviously little of my own interpretation and I'll name him Ragnarok, lol.

Welcome to the forgotten lands of unawareness.

Firstly, I am not happy of the scan. It's quite not accurate, really, and the angle is a little out of place due to that I had to scan several pieces since that artwork is bigger and had irregular shape. It may feel out of place, I apologize.
After my long fight with scanner and restoring my image's look in PS I've learned that I should get a professional scanner at some point in the future.

This was my first full acrylic illustration in fantasy theme. By doing this piece I've learned many and many stuff which I never knew before, as well controlling my hand.
I was inspired by many brilliant werewolf artists and I can tell this piece is kind of a tribute to many inspiring artists who drew wonderful werewolves, also including most participants from Werewolf Callendar: Dark Natasha, Balaa, Kyoht, GoldenWolf, ShadowWolf, Myenia, Khaosdog, Kesame and many others (will write more later).
Thank you for being a great inspiration, granting wonderful own interpretation of werewolves (if they wouldn't be there, how ugly werewolves we would be watching...? Hollywood also can't also picture a good, I mean, proper look of a werewolf).
I'm still learning about were's. Personally I visualize them more scruffy and massive quadruple ones- I do hope someday I'll find my own, unique interpretation of weres.

Just wanted to give a try in that contest for the 2D art and concepts theme. It's concept of my creature Xolotlan, Xol in shortcut.
That creature will appear in my personal project/story with toltec inspiration.

Honestly I've gave up with contests, but this one caught my interest because of the chance of education. I'm very hungry of art education, I want to improve, to learn, to experience but never was able to afford in USA which is a big mystery for me how people are able to go for one even just for one year.
Although, realistically I very doubt 'd win anything, but if i could any good real life education even for short time would help a lot in my life.
In USA I've heard a lot positive of art education and improvements and I'm really dreaming to attend, even just for short time course.

Quick acrylic illustration when I was on trip by using only three basic colors (red, blue and yellow) plus b&w.

I really recommend painting by using primitive palette of colors (and no green), it helps you to teach to understand the colors and blending.
Other than that I'm trying to finish my toltec inspired project of "Animals of Xolotlan".

Originally was supposed to be doodle/sketch trade, but i ended making him a tad more detailed than planned.
Just couldn't resist with playing with creativity of designing witherlings. I really like her critters, I could plunge myself into void of creating thousand Witherling designs if I could.
Originally I had in my mind to have simplier design but my bad habit made him more detaily-detailed.

Anyway. It's my witherling design- Tupilaq (formely Av Tupilaq). According to inuit legends Tupilaq is a fearsome soul beast. People in greenland don't believe but fear. Myths and spiritual legends were created by their fear. They created masks to "connect" with Inuit spirits in some legends.
Till today they still believe in folkfores.

Tupilaq is an abandoned witherling. Withdrawn by nature. It's unknown if it has other species of Tupilaq family or it's only one kind. So far, it's seen only once.
Everyone fear of him. Irrationally of course, so far no threats or real danger came from Tupilaq spirit itself.

The Wastelands

I've been travelling through vast wastelands of highland for my self quest for the inspiration, self experience, finding answers and for the passion of being within nature and alpine hiking.

Shattered screen of my brand new Sony A77 camera, totally broken lens (the glass has fell off from lens) and injuried left leg by over-exhausting my physical body. As well newly discovered the fear of very high alpine heights in myself. Those were only a few effects of the travelling through.

However, obviously, nothing can really cover up that experience....
I loved that lifestyle where I had to get up at 6 am, did hiking from the dawn to dusk, then sleep. Nothing else really did matter. No internet, no worries, news or any stuff from the outer manipulative world. I've been in state of true myself among in the nature, enjoying it's simple creation and had basic needs such like to eat, sleep and pee. Of course the effort of hiking is incredibly high and very difficult.
Being back to "reality" (aka, manipulative virtual reality) really hit me. I've noticed the more I am away from the grasp of the internet, the more I feel self negativity when I come back to it. I'm not saying that internet is an evil thing, but it's more of a parasite.

Smaug's Wrath

My armor is like tenfold shields! My teeth like swords! My claws, spears! The shock of my tail, a thunderbolt! My wings, a hurricane! And my breath, death!

Finally! Probably one of my craziest traditional paintings I've did during this year! The amount of time, effort and frustration I've put in this picture was really long and crazy.
I'm very happy for all effort I've put into this picture, technically it could be better if I didn't have the deadline so close.

Infos: The painting was done by copic markers (base layer), watercolors, alcohols, airbrush, acrylic and colored pencils. And another layer of copics. Done on A3 format on silky paper.

Also a great thanks to ~Arkelion who helped me with painting clouds where I was stuck with them. He is greatly skilled artist, especially with clouds!

WIP werewolf

Working in progress of werewolf acrylic illustration.
Almost done!

I've got a lot inspired by many of Colorado's wildlife artists and from galleries, and as well by artists who are skilled at werewolf art (such like wonderful Dark Natasha, Goldenwolf, Kyoht, Khaosdog and most artists who participated in Werewolf Callendars) to create a painting representing a werewolf from me, slightly more stylized than complete realism.
It's not my very best interpretation but it's just general native american view on werewolves (more wolf-alike than monster-y/anthromorphic).

It's a pure hell of work. It took me really long time and here I'm finishing the details by using Polychromos pencil which later I'll lay down with paint. Hopefully I'll have finished by tomorrow.

To all whose claimed/accused/or made assumptions about "copying/etc." where I had absolute no intentions, I've spoke personally with very kind *Goldenwolf where we had inspiring conversation, but more importantly: I'd like to know that Goldie absolutely does not feel being/or having her work ripped off, copied or feel uncomfortable in any way as people mentioned above- but rather view my artwork as an individual and unique creation.
I'm writing this, because I don not understand why people created such imaginary problem about it. But I believe most of them had good intentions and were just concerned -and- that I understand.
Later I'll come up a journal about it, because I do think situations like that are unnecessary and only divides us, artists, in the community- it's not about me or what has happened here, but many and many artists on devART are victims of such unnecessary situations like that. People in this community instead to get inspired eachother, get a drive to reach to their dreams, but get demotivated with art and only dwell in emotional fear.

I've been travelling through desolated mountain vasts and wastelands along my travel buddy ~Arkelion for many days.
That was really meaningful journey despite of unbearable pain of hiking, surviving nature powers and exhausting our bodies.

The worst moment was when devil clouds conquered whole highlands with it's crazy thunderstorms, hail, rain and oblivion-y winds caused our hiking become extremely difficult. On the way to shrine we had to go through valley where were tons of active bears. I thought that could be my last journey and cursed that I should have sat down safely at home.

How did I start travelling? How to travel? How did I improve with my art?

Get out from comfort zone. All what you need is to make a step into unknown. You will see the rest how life works. The whole universe will aid you once you will step away from your comfortable nest.

As quote says... "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone".

Besides than that I'm crazily inspired. My inspiration is so high at the moment but I need jump to art store, buy new paper and do crazy paintings. Nothing inspires me as good as travelling and teaches me new techniques. Internet *never* really helps me to get inspired, rather it distracts me out.

I'm not going to write a wall of text how well travels influences but I'll post a link- Noah Bradley, known as one of the best landscape artists - confirms it. Read it. Get inspired!

I'm very busy this month, got to finish as much of con art as possible and I'm very stressed out with very short of time frame. Unfortunately I wont have most important things done but... *shrugs*
And FYI, I will be back working on commissions and other projects on September where I'll be done with the con and have most stressful things behind my back.

Its believed that felines are spiritual rulers of space and matter. They were praised in myths and legends by ancient Mayan civilizations.

Animal instincts, known as spiritual vision - its said to be perfect guidance designed by nature itself, perhaps is more perfect than humans brain which may is the most powerful yet brings so much of destruction.

Its spoken in legends about that felines are the first animals who will foresee the worlds end. They are dark messengers to the kingdom of living creatures.

And so, the black panther stood and spiritually felt a terrible trouble coming upwards..

Edit: thank you very much for comments ^_^ however i'd like to kindly ask to refrain from commenting "it reminds from lotr", "omg its lotr" since almost all comment are all about it. I had no intention or any thought to draw it from lotr or be inspired from it (even im not fan of it really and havent watched it since i was little so i barely remember of it). Since my intention of this piece has nothing with lotr but just my imagination ( i know in general this concept is very common) and my awkward landscape practice: i'd be very happy to her any feedback ^_^. Not again.
Scanner did awful job, like terribliest scanner ever.
But it's not scanner's fault at the end.
Don't get me wrong, I love the results of my scanner. It's simple, cheap HP one, but does a good job on Windows. Most of my art is scanned by my scanner and mostly I'm happy.
However, it's SAME scanner but I scan now on my Macbook... the software is awful. Macbook's HP softwares are like hell. I do not understand that- same scanner, software for win and mac are like two totally different worlds.

This creature design was done as part of Terryl's instruction. I've learned lots value points of it. Skölh is a fantasy carnivore creature with inspiration of Leonardo's primary anatomy study (reverse anatomy, not regular).

Done by markers.

Original is for sale. In real looks a lot softer, a bit more detailed and natural.

Aleph

Finally we meet again after the thousand years ago in our past lives.

This is an Aleph. Just a quick sketch of two souls who got reunited together in this world after from knowing each other from the past lives.

"Aleph" is something more than a love, friendship or anything what we have felt in our lives. This is a feeling when whole Universe join with us.

Aleph is an event where two souls meet in one point (place) of the Universe where these two souls have met already in past lives.

Personally I really believe in a theory that soul can meet certain soul in past lives as well we will meet that soul in another lives because I do feel that. A soul, whole universe is a form of purging energy. Every of us has important role in the universe.

Aleph, personally I think, is a highest and purest form of feeling with our soul. When we find an Alpha Point (Aleph) in our life, we feel an enormous energy.... like all the things becomes unimportant what was around us. Like a whole universe connects with us.
The point of Alpha (Aleph is not only refered to a person, but also to certain place, thing or living creature and anything else- since everything in our world is form of energy which travels all around.

I'll be coming with an article about the feeling of a love related stuff! There will be explaination the differences of attraction, love and what is Aleph and why most of relationships are falling apart more often than ever. (and not only human related love but also with other things)

This is concept sketch of upcoming collaboration illustration with !khaosdog representing divine Earth Creations (massive in bird-esque form) and this is part of "Xolotlan's Journey".

I drew this on A3 size bristol, I so enjoy sketching and detailing on large formats, since when I discovered drawing on A4 sucks.

A very special artwork for our amazing friends from Colorado who lived and helped us a lot in the high mountains where we used to live during out long term travel.
This is their dog, Siberian Husky and it was fun to paint with very different yet stylish style (with hint of good ol' times style) with hint of urbanish.
Just experimenting was lots of fun.
This is another artwork which I didn't plan to submit but... I ended doing? My poor account is getting really abandoned lately.

Scanning was pain in ass, had to scan several times and fuse into one piece.. so if there are any stupid "lines" or disortions, pardon me.

The Journey

EDIT: Submitting my traditional painted illustration (a double-book cover) for the contest! I think it's one of my best illustration and I thought to try out in the contest.
That (potential) cover is originally designed for my own art book project called "Animals of Xolotlan".

Life is one grand journey.
A grand journey through the world.
But ever the greatest journey is in our inner selves.

THE DECISIONS are making us to move forward.

I always picture my (and other lives) a great, lonely pathway where my life is pictured and shaped. We are only one traveling on that Great Pathway.
No one else.
Our feelings, emotions and memories are picturing and portraying the Great Pathway's shapes- and also, the doors where we shall travel further.

Decisions to make are like, several doors standing on the our way. If we want to travel to the another level, we have to decide to open a door, close a door and move forward into a new world.
Every our opened door, no matter if we are experiencing it positively or negatively, we are moving forward.

However, the worst thing and makes us as "dead" in our lives is to remain standing by a door. The fear of decision or preference of living in comfort zone.
Then at the moment of death, God will ask: "What did you do with your life?”
-"I remained standing at the door."
(concept of the Doors is picked from legendary writer Paulo Coelho)

People fear to make decisions because of the unknown. The biggest fear is a fear of unknown. The forest in dark is scary not because is dark, but because we cannot see and it's like, unknown.
People fear to travel because of the not known places they are going.

If a decision is finally made by ourselves even though to pick and make a decision was so impossible, it's a part of our success.
However, we must learn to not look back what decision we made. We must to learn that we picked a door, opened and we must close it and not come back- and with some of decisions where you can't return back.
If we make a very difficult decision, it's not worthy to look back and think all the time "Was it a good decision?" and "What if I picked other decision..". Forget and move forward.
If a decision was made and it was with the cost of other person or was bad one- don't go back, move forward to another level and doors- and here, in the next stage you will be able to fix. You will fix it as another stage of your journey.

That personal painting was done as a gift for very important person which I'm finally to see- a person who was my guide in my life and taught me how to start a journey.
For long time I couldn't think what to give for her, so I thought, she never got a drawing from me. But what to draw?
Usually we draw and gift what the other people like for the most or stereotypically. I couldn't think nor figure what she would like.
"Screw it!"- I thought.
I thought the best gift would be a personal painting truly from myself. Merely, which represents me- one who painted that picture. I represented a travel, journey, loneliness, life and... creature because animals and fantasy have been part of my imaginary life. And she knows me since childhood.
It will have more meaning for her than if I could paint for her favourite thing, animal or flower which has nothing with me.

Creature

Decided to finish that creature drawing which was lying, abandoned so dusted in my room. Poor thing got rescued. Doing detailed structure and shading on small A4 size was hell.

Apparently I like how it turned out.

The original drawing is for sale. Send to me a note if you are interested. It's on A4 size (9' x 12') and frames are shiney. Great for framing and hanging up for universal creature lovers.

Still in the process of development. Also thanks a lot to legendary artist Terryl Whitlatch for the guidance :]
The harp is organic and biologically connected to creature. These threads are elastic and soft (and thick thread on the furtest end) which allows motion and are adjustable with the size- they are just part of body but it still gives some limited motion- but enough of motion to raise head down, up, turn right left, function for it's needs and fight.
I've been also playing with thought of removing all threads which gives fully biological possibilties to move and fuction with head (originally Xol is a divine and sacred creature which doesn't need to function in real life) and with divine powers Xol summons threads to use it for his goals. Like appearing and disappearing.

Next my task with Xol is to create motion headshots to mark his movements with harp and scenes to mark his personality. That's the third step of development.

1 step is a rough concept where I transfered my first imagination of Xolotlan which has born in my mind on paper to bring it's primary shape (I did several rough sketch attempts and I picked this one:

This one is the second, where I define it's anatomy and functions.

The third is more details and defining personality while sketching scenes. It's important when we define it's personality because personality MAY affect change on creature's design.

Himalayan Fu Dog

Conceptual sketch of Himalayan Fu Dog which I designed for specific project where it will have his own story background. I might change something on him before full illustration will be made.

He is guardian of holy mountains of Nepal- अन्नपूर्णा (Annapurna). Annapurna means "Goddess of the Harvests" and the elevation is eight thousand metres (25.000~ feet) which makes me a "wow" because I lived on 10.000 feet (4000m) elevation and already I had healthwise sucky time!
For some reason Mount Everest never fascinated me a lot, really because just of the hype "of the tallest peak on the earth and famous alpinists" but that's better and that makes other mountains less known yet more interesting because they are sacred and hold so many legends. Some mountains in Nepal are forbidden to enter.
And in general I'm heavely inspired by Nepal creations and I never thought travels would be the best inspiration source

Since I don't have a scanner anymore, I took a photo of that painting. It wasn't easy task since it was done on bigger format which slightly was "crooking" on corners after full painting and originally the picture is sharper and a lot more detailed.
I got inspiration for the landscape from my travels and I designed "rock-looking-tree-alike" thingies just for fun.

The Earth World

Finally done!
This is painting of Shizuzakka illustrating it's the Earth's world temple from the Earth&Wind alternative mythology of altered Old World.
The Earth - the Earth world is sort of an "Underworld" of the Wind world where is treated as "Upper world". In Earth, there are no water, no plants, trees and such. It's covered by dust, primary metals, rocky elements, covered by ruins and strange primary materia. The "trees" on mountains are no actual trees but magnetic (magnum? sp?) elements. "Snow" is actually a white dust.
The feeling being in Earth is like "there is nothing but materia trash and dust".
So far, this one took me hell of the time. I made world project in digital, so originally I was supposed to create envirnoment/landscapes art in digital...
...but I decided to go with traditional.
I find it's a lot more fun to do with traditional.
I want to support all the way traditional art than overrated digital art. I want to show traditional art is as great as digital.

I love traditional art.

Collaboration with awesome , where she did such wonderful job with linework giving very divine-like pose for Fu lion. I did whole coloring and shading part, it was fun to FINALLY color instead as usual job of concept/lineart artist.
That work took me literally whole two days of working.

Hour of Twilight

Once the glass in Temple of the Sol is shattered, the sun will shatter like a glass.

Concept of the Hour of Twilight.

That illustration represents a story of werewolves how I represents them. A small story I've created and the concept, where khaos created an amazing mood and colors with it.

As in the common fantasy werewolves are represented on the background of full moon at the night, as well, even wolves too. I don't know why exactly and what reason usually it's represented of active wolves at the night with full moon.
I always loved werewolves, yet... I wanted to come with a story with it and something different than classic werewolf in the nature and moon- and something darker...

Baroque/gothic styled temples and churches, abandoned ones came to my mind... reminding me from Disney movies of Norte Dame, with it's beasts and monsters haunted on gothic buildings.
And then main theme... the twilight (nothing really related with "Twilight" books nor "twilight princess" game). Actually wolves are not nocturnal but crepuscular- active at the dawn or dusk. It came when I have been volunteering in Wolf Sanctuary, I made so much interaction with real wolves wanting to use inspiration...

So I'm wanting to create a little myth about werewolves as twilight beasts with it's own deep legend.

There is a tower which I'vemade a concept, which is a heart of the Sun. It's said the ancient people made a sacral Temple of the Sol where the sun keeps a balance between the Light (Day) and Darkness (Night). It's a giant tower which is surrounded of huge towers (it's placed deeply in deserted nature) in clockwise-style (inspiration of the sun, gothic temples, sun dials and stained glasses). That middle tower has on the top irregular-sun shaped giant stained glass window where keeps a light of the majestic sun.

It's said a legend about Grande Mundo- a giant werewolf which comes at the Hour of Twilight...
Destroys the stainglass of the sun, the sun gets shattered like a glass, bringing the darkness...

Sun is not faded completely, sun lays on the horizon like shattered glass on the ground, causing the faint light effect... the Twilight...

That's concept so far, I may want to create that myth where I have already ideas.. What do you think? (ideas are welcomed!)

Ragnarok I

Collaboration with - Wolves of Ragnarok.

Ragnarok -"Doom of the Gods"- means the end of the cosmos in Norse mythology.

There are three wolves. One is Skoll, who is chasing the Sun and Hati- is chasing the Moon from beginning of the world. And cruel one, who was banished by the Gods into depths of earth- Fenrir.

The wolf Skoll will finally devour the sun, and his brother Hati will eat the moon, plunging the earth into eternal darkness. The stars will vanish from the sky. The cock Fjalar will crow to the giants and the golden cock Gullinkambi will crow to the gods. A third cock will raise the dead.

The earth will shudder with earthquakes, and every bond and fetter will burst, unleashing the terrible wolf Fenrir from darkness....

I did concept of Ragnarok I- Wolves of Ragnarok and lineart and *khaosdog beautifuly colored this.

That is the second installment of Ragnarök series.

Ragnarok -"Doom of the Gods"- means the end of the cosmos in Norse mythology.

When the world is plunged into the darkness, roosters shall call the Gods for the war.
Garm, the Hell Hound shall bark to unleash the cruel beasts- Fenrir and Loki, to carry the grudge against Gods.
Unleashed Fenrir with clinging and raising anger shall kill one of Greatest Gods- Odin, who will stand on the battle at world's End (...)

I represented Odin without armor, which would show human's weakness. He was killed by Fenrir.
So, I did concept and lineart and talented Alector Fencer did great job with coloring. I am SO happy of outcome.
I hope doing more Ragnarok Series!

Sleipnir. I have heard many times how people are complaining about it- the interpretation for sleipnir is free. It absolutely doesnt have having 8 legs- some people draw just 4, 6 and there are some who drew 12.

I did lineart&concept and did such amazing job with coloring.

"Colouring this was a lot of fun in the first place but it also killed me in the end as I again put layer on top of layer of acrylics when parts weren't as glowy as I wished them to be. But I more and more enjoy experimenting with techniques that seem to work for me. Pearl did and awesome job sketching this and it was an honour for me to complete the soul of this image.

..whole picture is based on animal myth in that region.

That was such crazy painting *__*
Begin under time pressure...
Not really as I expected.. I wish that lion warrior could be smaller and I know there are mistakes.. but looks okay at all. I focused on scene dynamics. I just finalized this picture on last-call before contest is closed.

Scanner did no fun job with this, I spent 40 mins with playing adjusting right colors in PS after unfair scanning.. the original looks much more natural and more focused on Lion and Zebra. Lot and lot better- but anyway, it will be in Eurofurence, so if you come you may chance to see the original- itself technique of painting this is very interesting!

Pic done for EF. Okay, scanner- you suck. Especially with full BG job. At least anyone who may appear on EF in person, could see how really looks irl.

PS: yes as far, my hiatus is off- but still I'm busy beging under time pressure before my trip which is gonna happen within 10 days.
