This one is a collaboration for an exhibition in Thessaloniki and Athens in 2012 with ~luez2 - www.louiskonstantinou.com and ~katkill as model.
Additional stock is used from *madetobeunique for the snakes.
Hopefully time allows for more collaborations of this kind.

More info on the exhibition as soon as I get them.

Print will be available later this year when I go through prices and deviations clean up, so in case you want a print it might be a good idea to buy them now

Final Spot Illustration for the Tale of Baba Yaga here at SCAD.

"I smell Russian blood" -- Baba Yaga often represents many of the classic witch characters we grew up with in fairytales. She is an earth goddess, the mother of life and death, who controls the weather and the changing times of day, but she is often watered down into an evil hag in many tales.

Here's my interpretation.
Completely traditional, no digital editing except for bumping the level by like, 4 points.
Watercolour, graphite, charcoal on illustration board.

I'll post more illustrations later from the series I created for my class.

Yamauba (山姥?), Yamamba or Yamanba are variations on the name of a yōkai found in Japanese folklore.

Depending on the text and translator, the Yamauba appears as a monstrous Crone, her unkempt hair long and golden white ... her kimono filthy and tattered, with cannibalistic tendencies. In one tale a mother traveling to her village is forced to give birth in a mountain hut assisted by an apparent kindly old woman, only to discover, when it is too late, that the stranger is actually Yamauba with plans to eat her newborn child. In other story the yōkai raises the orphan hero Kintarō, who goes on to became the famous warrior Sakata no Kintoki.

Yamauba is said to have a mouth at the top of her head under her hair. In one story it is related that her only weakness is a certain flower containing her soul.

Late Halloween submission! But here it is.
And with it, a little macabre story...original in french, translated in english.
English version might still be under some corrections!
Also, 18+ story, just in case DeviantArt might require it.

C'était une fête d'Halloween comme les autres...sauf que la farce l'emporta vers un monde dont il ne soupçonnait pas l'existence.

Josh et ses amis s'étaient retrouvés pour cette soirée macabre, avec dans l'idée de pousser le bouchon un peu plus loin. Ils voulaient du frisson, des sensations et de l'adrénaline. Pas une banale fête de "Trick or treat!" comme les enfants qui ramassaient des bonbons à la fraise, habillés en princesse ou en superman. Leur curiosité les avaient menés vers une boutique sombre, d'antiquités, d'objets farfelus et d'amulettes en tout genre. C'est là qu'il décidèrent de faire un rituel, trouvé sur un petit bouquin abîmé qui traînait sur les étagères du magasin.

Le petit groupe se rassembla dans une vieille chambre d'un immeuble décrépi. L'endroit était propice, la lumière faible de l'électricité défaillante apportant une couche glauque à toute cette mascarade. Comme tout rituel digne de ce nom, les bougies rouges et noirs étaient requises, accompagnées d'encens bon marché qui dégageait une odeur plus déplaisante que relaxante. L'un des garçons s'occupa de dessiner un espèce de croquis ridicule avec de la peinture rouge, sur le mur déjà rouillé et sali par le temps. Enfin, la tradition d'Halloween requiert la fameuse tête de citrouille sculptée.

Les quatre jeunes hommes commencèrent alors leur comédie, déblatérant des paroles sans queue ni tête, appelant la présence d'on ne sait quelle entité maléfique et malveillante. Le milieu, endroit interdit, ainsi que la date, 31 octobre "Fête des morts", rendirent les choses pire qu'elles n'étaient censés l'être. Au terme de leurs discours démoniaque, un vent glacial parcouru la pièce, éteignant les quelques bougies qui se trouvaient par terre. La lumière se limita alors à la citrouille lumineuse, ainsi que la pleine lune (quelle ironie!) derrière la fenêtre. Des murmures s'élevèrent alors, des grattements, des couinements... Les garçons comprirent alors que leur blague avait fonctionnée...et cela n'était pas à leur avantage... Trois d'entre eux, paniqués, prirent rapidement la fuite. Le quatrième, Josh, curieux, et adeptes de choses étranges, resta assis là.

Dans un nuage de fumée noire, une magnifique femme nue apparue. Étant donné les circonstances, ce n'était bien évidemment pas une femme ordinaire... Ses yeux dénuées d'iris brillaient d'un jaune-orange de feu, sa tête étaient ornée d'une paire de cornes, comme dans les histoires de monstres, ainsi que d'une queue diabolique. Elle estompa la fumée noire de quelques battements de ses ailes de chauve-souris.
Dessinant un sourire séducteur, elle s'approcha du jeune homme, déjà sous l'emprise du charme de cette beauté aux courbes parfaites, aux seins généreux et aux jambes interminables. Avec une voix divine de l'enfer, elle lui proposa ses services...à savoir le domaine dans lequel elle était maîtresse, une nuit d'amour torride...pour peu qu'il en paye le prix. Ignorant tout de ce prix, le garçon accepta sans hésiter.

C'est alors que commença une nuit de passion et de désirs refoulés, tous ressurgis et dévoilés. La belle démone savait tout de cet art sexuel et elle ne manqua pas de remplir le contrat. Ses mains, sa poitrine et sa langue fournissaient tous les plaisirs que l'adolescent pouvait espérer. Inexpérimenté, le jeune homme se laissa guider et dominer par le savoir sans borne de son invocation. La chaleur montait, la sueur perlait sur les deux corps qui se mélangeaient, les cris brisaient le calme de cet endroit abandonné. Au terme de leurs ébats, le garçon s'allongea, épuisé, encore chevauché par les jambes puissantes de la succube.

Et maintenant...le prix. Sans que Josh puisse réagir, la démone déposa furieusement ses lèvres sur les siennes: un vide se fit sentir...la chaleur se perdait...la vie s'en allait. Encore assise et connectée à sa proie, elle courba le dos, emportant la vie et le désir qui s'évadait du corps de Josh. Immobile, il ne pouvait que regarder sa vie s'enfuir, bientôt son esprit devint vide, son regard vague...et brusquement, sa tête vola à l'autre bout de la pièce.

Satisfaite, Lilith poussa un cri de plaisir et appela à elle ses enfants affamés, Lilin. De partout, de petits êtres difformes s'approchèrent de la démone, pendant que celle-ci éviscérait sans hésiter son repas du soir. Cela faisait tellement longtemps...la faim et l'envie prenait le dessus, elle dévora le jeune homme avec appétit, donnant également à sa progéniture sa pitance sanglante.

Le lendemain, il ne restait plus que de larges traces de sang sur le drap souillé...ainsi qu'une tête dans un coin, déjà partiellement dévorée par les fourmis et les rats.
Lilith avait fait son travail.

It was a Halloween party like any other...but the joke took him into a world he never suspected about...

Josh and his friends met for this macabre evening, having the idea to bring the things a bit further. They wanted shivers, sensations and adrenaline. Not a boring party of "Trick or treat!" like the children picking up strawberry sweets, dressed as princesses or superman. Their curiosity brought them into a dark boutique or antiquities, silly objects and amulets of any kind. They decided to do a ritual, found in an old little torn book left on the shelves of the shop.

The little group gathered in a old room of a rotten building. The place was perfect, the weak light of the failing electricity was bringing a shabby aspect to this masquerade. Like any ritual, black and red candles were required, with a cheap incense bringing a disturbing smell more than relaxing. One of the boys started to draw a ridiculous sketch with red paint on the wall, already dirty and rusty with time. Finally, the Halloween tradition were requiring the famous carved pumpkin head.

The four young men started their comedy, saying their incantation lyrics without any sense, calling upon the presence of some evil entity. The place, forbidden, and the time, 31 October "Dead celebration", made things worse than there were supposed to be. At the end of their demonic speech, a cold wind went through the room, extinguishing the candles on the floor. The light were thus limited to the pumpkin head, and the full moon (what irony!) behind the window. Whispers started, scratchings... The boys realised that their joke have worked....and it wasn't to their advantage... Three of them, panicking, ran away. The fourth, Josh, curious about any strange things, stayed sitting here.

In a black smoke cloud, a magnificent naked woman appeared. Given circumstances, it was obviously no ordinary woman... Her eyes with no iris were shining of a yellow-orange of fire, her head had a pair of horns, like in monsters stories, and a diabolic tail. She beat her bat wings few times, making the black smoke disappear.
With a seductive smile, she came close to the young boy already under the influence of this charming beauty with perfects curves, generous breasts and endless legs. With a divine voice of hell, she offered her services...in the domain she was a chief, a torrid love night...if he paid the price. Ignoring everything about this price, the boy accepted without hesitation.

And then started this night of passion and desires, all brought up to life and unveiled. The beautiful demon knew everything of this sexual art and didn't fail to fulfil the contract. Her hands, her breasts and her tongue were giving all the pleasures the teenager could have dreamed about. With no experience, the young man let himself guided and dominated by the endless knowledge of his summoning. The heat were rising, the sweat pearled on the two mixing bodies, the screams were breaking the silence of this abandoned place. At the end of their action, the boy lied down, exhausted, still held by the powerful legs of the succubus.

And now...the price. Without any possibility of reaction, the demon pushed hardly her lips against his: emptiness...heat was going away...life was escaping. Still sitting and connected to her prey, she bent her back, taking away the life and desire flooding away from Josh's body. Immobile, he could only watch his life leaving, soon his mind went blank, his eye vivid...and suddenly, his head flew away to the other side of the room.

Satisfied, Lilith screamed all her pleasure and called upon her starving children, Lilin. From everywhere, deformed beings gathered around her, while she eviscerated without hesitating her dinner. It's been so long...the hunger and the urge were taking over, she devoured the young man with appetite, giving her offspring a bloody sustenance.

The day after, only blood stains were left on the dirty cloth...and a head in a corner, already half devoured by rats and ants.
Lilith has done her job.

Alright so I had this story which involved the character you see here, it was one of those stories where the kingdom is actually going to war with itself. It was suppose to be ruled by the character you see here's brother. but the twin to this character killed him in his sleep. leaving the crown up to either of the twins. both equally expecting the other to kill them, behind each others back's the twins raised their own army. war broke out and in the final moments of battle the twin charged at her sister's back and plunged a spiked flag through her.

her body was left as a message and her sister began her (evil) rein.

( she ends up actually coming back as a zombie in another story but she can't exactly extract revenge considering the necromancer that raised her wanted her as a personal companion. )

THIS STORY IS STUPID IM SORRY

also I didn't bother shading it because I'm lazy. and it was suppose to be a doodle.

I have a feeling that the colours may be a bit dark and muddy on this piece, which is making me think I may need to invest in a dual monitor set-up in the near future...because I refuse to darken my monitor...yeah.

Now that that is out of the way, a couple of weeks ago I did a presentation for my Humanities class on "The Black Death" which as I'm sure many of you know was one of the greatest pandemics in recorded human history from 1347-1350 and wound up killing at least 1/3 of Europe.

As I researched, I wound up creating a new OC: A Plague Doctor/Beak Doctor named Timmy (real name Timothy). I'm still working out the bugs for his back story, but right now Timmy is for the most part human, but he is cursed with a mutated strain of the Black Death, which causes him to spread the disease by breathing (Pneumonic) while the visibly displaying buboes (Bubonic) unless he absorbs souls. If he fails to absorb a soul or more in the calculated amount of time, he will succumb to Plague, but not die. He WILL be in a lot of pain though. As long as he absorbs one soul every six months, he can control the aspects of his own personal "Black Death" and use it as a weapon...possibly in Terminus 2525.

I kept finding conflicting reports as to when "Beak Doctors" first came around. Some said they existed during the original 1347 outbreak while other reports said they didn't come into play until the 1600s during the outbreak in England. I'm not sure which is the correct report, but maybe I can twist history a little...

Extra Information

If Vistyne's dracolich Malvero so much as comes to into close contact with Timmy (skin to skin will usually suffice), both Malvero and Vistyne (since they share a symbiotic bond) will become infected with Plague, forcing Vistyne to dispel Malvero before she is overtaken by the disease. Once Malvero is dispelled, Vistyne will regenerate to her previous plague-free state.

Timmy's Black Death" Plague will not affect the undead (aside from Malvero). This includes vampires, met-omega zombies (i.e. Hughbert, Carla, Mateo), Thanatora, and Annunaki.

It is also known not to have any effect on Operation Bob.

Oddly enough, the Black Death doesn't seem to affect shadmocks or metaflukes...

....Unless you're Dr. Ryan R. Ryan, MD. When Ryan is infected, he will die...only to regenerate good as new.
