I was trying to save more drawings for a future artbook, but I'm going to be selling these as prints at cons and I don't want them to be posted online first by someone else Q__Q so I'll probably post them in the next month or two slowly... MY EFFORTS TO SAVE WAS IN VAIN but you will get more glorious carciphona pics

my fb hit 10k likes last month and I asked everyone what they wanted to see in celebration, and a tutorial was one of the popular choices! So I painted this freshly and recorded the entire process. I will organize it once I have the time and make a video/pictorial tutorial out of it! In the meantime pls bathe in sexual tension

a lot of ppl asked for large resolution pics too for celebration, but I couldn't think of a way to distribute these without risking some asshole taking it and selling it. In the end I decided it's just one drawing, I can shoulder some damage to give my followers something they want, so here it is available for download! click on the download button to save a large version of this piece I know this request will fall on the wrong ears but please DO NOT repost the full version for download anywhere else or sell this image in anyway shape or form, tangible or intangible (please report any abuse and violators to me!) Nothing to post so posting passable scraps again :c something I drew of my girlfriend for fun while she was away a little while ago. I wanted to go for a certain ink/watercolour effect that is not too detailed, make it a little stylized but still recognizable as her. and then I noticed the background was really empty because I wasn't planning anything for the picture as a whole so I drew random swirls HAHA. I wanted to draw a counterpart of myself afterwards but I felt very conscious drawing myself in vaguely glorified ways, so I never did it...................................

Something I drew a year ago! (feb 2012) I was going to save this like a lot of my other original pieces to the best of my ability for another art book, also because I decided to keep misleading pictures out of people's sight lol q_q but I haven't had much to post lately and I guess this kind of suits the occasion???

It was a random sketch that I ended up using to try painting in a simple way and without lines. I rather like how it turned out but I'm not sure if I will be able to pull it off again when I need to haha!

Snapshots of Carciphona volume 3 pages that I've been working on.

I receive questions time to time about how I make these pages. I had the whole book thumbnailed first, and then draw them on paper before scanning them to tone digitally on photoshop. I use pencil to "ink" these pages because pens are too unforgiving and I'm really bad with inks haha ;; A lot of people ask me how I get the lines to look like inking/look so dark: I use Levels in photoshop to adjust the overall contrast of the lines after scanning to make the lines darker, and then use dodge and burn to clean up the rest of the scanned graypatches c:

I named it cupid for easy identification because it was drawn for valentine's day too, but then I also want to call it Liar because she's making things up to deceive herself and others, being content living in the shallows. Like always: Blackbird vs Veloce from my webcomic Carciphona

I always wanted to draw something with them fighting, but once again I went overboard and made it too neat/clean and lost the force it had in the rough Q__Q

I've drawn a lot of sketches of them fighting in the past but I didn't like any of them. I drew this after I realized Chopin's prelude in g#- was also called the duel which was totally appropriate, and I guess having a rhythm/pace to the fight in the form of good music helped the choreography enough to make it worth colouring.

I had contemplated making this exclusive content for the art book, but I forked my soul out in this drawing SO IM POSTING IT LMFAO. There is a 2-page spread in the book with this drawing though! and this is probably the last illus I'll be posting to promote my book, so thanks so much for your support for the preorder event! I am eternally grateful

Another new pic done for the art book. The book itself won't contain any images that I won't post within the next few weeks, but detail is my thing and there's a lot you can't see on a screen (:

This drawing ended up as just a romantic picture; at first I was thinking more like a pair of stars that will revolve around each other that will not leave each other, but also will never get any closer to each other, hence the spiral title. Veloce is a knowing victim in this relationship. She knows how vocruen thinks and her intuition tells her something is wrong with him, but she chose to disregard it all her life. I was going to put text on it to get my original point across but decided not to and just leave it as a positive picture LOL BECAUSE MY CP GALLERY IS IN DIRE NEED OF POSITIVE ART

The Musician

From July 2010 to April 2011, I worked on a commissioned manga chapter (46 pages long) for ~Kulimar of a story he had planned. The detailed script and dialog was provided by him (written by Mari Holy) and my job was to get down the story in manga form. It is a self contained story in a world that he plans to release more similar stories for. I recently noticed he posted it on his site so you guys can finally read it there!

About the project:

This was challenging for all of us; it is his first time directing a project like this, and it is my first time illustrating someone else's story within a page count limit. I was responsible for the entire illustration process, ie. I did the thumbnails as well, so it was pretty interesting try to make thumbnails that are comprehensible by people other than me haha (and probably very worrying for him at the time because he had to practically approve stick people and 5-year-old scribble buildings). I also drew everything on the computer whereas I normally do my manga lineart on paper. It's a little harder to guess the level of detail I should go for because sometimes I start going nuts when I zoom in too much. Lastly it's not a fantasy setting lmao, with buildings and classrooms and SUITS and GUNS AND GUARDS AND MENNNN EVERYTHING I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRAW... but in the end I guess that's how we learn lol ):

I think this design suits her more than the red one I've drawn before, that one looks too serious/high class/extravagant/old on her and I want to keep a little youthfulness and restlessness to her. Obviously she's always serious and boring but beyond her demeanors she's not a very well grounded person.

I still haven't done much with this design so it's really unbalanced and that's probably why I don't like it. The most important part of this design is the yellow waist sash and is the only reason I made this generic design LOL. It came from the pope's attire, and I really like it as a religious symbol, I don't really know who gets to wear it irl or what it represents (I don't even know what it's called if it has a name LOL) but I want to incorporate this as something worn by high ranking clergymen, or people respected by/looked up to by the religious order in my world.

ANYWAYS this is me as the caterpillar (she had nipples but i was afraid it would be "inappropriate" in someway and get my dq'ed so I covered it with this wave of... blue... things.......) I've always wanted to use colours that are harsh to my eyes so I did it and my eyes died. I've always liked to draw narcissistic people and so I did and I liked it. I've always loved rococo patterns and expensive looking useless luxury items and so I drew it and it was ok. overall I'm happy with the picture but I missed the poor blue nipples.

the caterpillar gives advice and seems to be either wise or just full of himself, of which I chose the latter to have fun with. with this pic I tried to portray the following (my own ideas or from the stories): a caterpillar is pretty small, insignificant and useless, but she shows off her satisfaction and high esteem with her little throne on the mushrooms. a caterpillar is to become a better being by turning into a butterfly, but she probably thinks she is superior to butterflies in her state and brush off her future as insignificant as smoke. her vibrant colours--that which is the opposite of the environment within which she placed herself, asserts her self importance by standing out instead of blending in for safety. lastly, as one of the characters alice meets and seeks help from, the better choice becomes unclear between being lost in the world with many problems, and trusting the advice of a creature with such an appearance.

hopefully the slight strangeness fits into wonderland's madness as well. the whole pic is like full of drug hints too without me even trying. I mean like greens, shrooms, smoke and shapes, radioactive colours, and a caterpillar that is supposed to be somewhat attractive.

4 8'x11' Test Pages: shaded

The shaded version of my test-run on drawing on lettersize pages! The story/characters featured are from the game Ragnarok Online. As test pages, their purpose is for me to see if I'm comfortable with drawing on a bigger piece of paper. This scene is just a random segment of a personal RO story and had no planning whatsoever. It is not the starting pages of a series (hence the awkward pick-up) nor will it be continued after this.

The tones I used on this page are either from the Comicworks program (I save the tones and apply them using photoshop instead) or from . Major thanks to the latter link for sharing the tones with all of us!

And thanks to for explaining how to create brush-stroke effects for sound effects! I tried it out even though I didn't do it well ): much better than killing my pencil by drawing botches of black on paper

Below are stuff you probably don't care about!

I have an original manga project, Blackbird [link] whose first volume has just been completed (sans like 50 pages that need to be toned still.........) and I am about to start on the second volume.

As you may or may not know, for the past 4-5 years of drawing manga pages for Blackbird, I've always drawn on very small dimensions. I would fold a letter-size paper in half, and draw one page on each half. I was told that drawing big is always better, but since I've been accustomed to drawing small for so long, I wasn't sure if I can handle it. So I decided to do a few test pages before starting volume 2. I was originally going to make the segment Blackbird-related, but decided to draw RO instead when I realized I don't really want to spoil the story.

My conclusion of the test is that while I am comfortable with drawing 1 page per letter, I take twice as long to do a page because I get lost in the same amount of small details ]: I also end up making the page a lot more chaotic because most space=more tone spam to me apparently! The bigger page allows for the smaller figures to be drawn properly though, and it feels better than drawing 2 pages on 1 page in general, so I think I'm going to go ahead with the change and just... try to chill out with the details and tones LOL;;

The only other issue is with shading. As you can see this page is titled "shaded" and most people are cel-shaded in the manner of simple b/w CGs. Normal manga pages don't have nearly this much shading (and not in the same style either, since I do this digitally while real mangas use tones) so it makes my pages look odd. However I do this just because I can and it doesn't take much time, and the depth it adds to certain panels helps out a lot, especially in confusing fight scenes (speaking from experience of Blackbird.) I am still not sure whether I should shade or not shade but so far I'm leaning towards shading

Lastly this RO story is based on the fact that the Valkyrie in Valhalla tells you that your memories will be taken away when you transcend. The Valkyrie in my story however does this in order to obtain knowledge. She is also randgris, and randgris is the result of her growing power, that's why her appearance changed after the flashback. For all of you who don't play RO, if you want to know, the first winged woman is Valkyrie, a job change npc, the black-winged woman is a boss monster, the ice is a skill called ice wall, ganbantein is a skill that cancels all land-based skills in an area, and the rest of the characters are all player classes.

I probably did not need to draw a concert pedal harp, but it didn't even occur to me until after I finished the whole image. the musician in me automatically said concert harp when read the word "harp" ): but I think it fits pretty well with the rest of this woman's expensive get-ups, as opposed to a smaller harp XD

Hello, sorry for not being able to upload anything worthwhile for so long. This picture is of Veloce and Keritzel in a storyline that I made n years ago, I just sketched it one day and decided to colour it (because I had nothing else to colour... I am too scared to colour the other piece)

Originally there were a lot more things I wanted to do with this picture, but because of time constrains, I coloured it too early and all of those stuffs went out the window ): oh well

I try to get out of my habit for using very little contrast and not rely on cheating so much to blend everything. THE QUEST CONTINUES

Fanart - Light will not purify

Another piece I will sell in the artist alleys (or else I wouldn't be drawing fanart for anything other than RO). I was just notified that part of my prize includes some panel space in the artshow/artroom(what's the difference?), so I will be showing/auctioning there:

- a single 20x30 print of this piece
- a single 20x30 print of basilica
- a single 20x30 print of my winning AN image
(provided that staples can actually print me those big prints without asking me to wait a year)

I don't want to sign on them because there's no appropriate space on them to sign, but if you win the bid and you want me to sign them or write something on them, you are more than welcome to ask me afterwards (you can request stupid stuff).
