I've been doing a lot of checking of these phrases to see if they're used in both the UK and the US ^^ I think I'm on safe ground but I'll just mention that the first sentence has a secondary meaning. "Wound up" means "tense" in Britain and America I gather, but "he wound me up" can also mean "he teased and annoyed me; provoked me into being angry". Which (I think ^^") is just British English. ]]>

My mind reeled, imagining the eons this animal lay encased in solid ice, seasons beyond number, winters and summers since antiquity...passed unheeded by this time traveler.

So as soon as I happened upon this month's prompt, I knew exactly what to base my story on.

I think it's ironic that the story is only 6 words, yet the backstory is a paragraph. =P
