Anyway, thanks to =PlasmaX7 for the prod in the right direction. He recently asked me if I'd like to join him and a few others in doing daily-sketching exercises; I thought it was a brilliant idea.

Anyway, I've been inactive for a while, but believe me it's just a phase I've just been trying to figure out things like life and paying rent, boring stuff, but I can see things smoothing out very soon which should mean a lot more time for creativity and all that jazz.

If you have superdAmn installed there will be a couple of errors when you install dAmnGoodies2 too. The errors are caused by superdAmn, but you can fix these errors by installing the SuperdAmn Fix to replace the superdAmn userscript that you have already installed.

Alright, here's a basic explanation of the features of dAmn Goodies 2:

Nicknames : /nick

When you give someone a nickname their username will be replaced when you tab them in chat and their <nametag> is also changed.
Now only usernames that are followed by a : will be replaced.
Hint: End a username with two colons ( :: ) to replace with the nickname but without the end colon.


username: => nickname:
username:: => nickname

Commands:
/nick on -- Turns nicknames on (default)
/nick off -- Turns nicknames off

dAmnStyler is a script written in Javascript for use in any browser that allows the use of custom userscripts, such as Mozilla Firefox and one of the extensions made for it called GreaseMonkey. The script adds new functionality to dAmn, allowing it's users to change the appearance of their chatrooms, see the changes made to other rooms by other users of the dAmn Styler, plus a few other nifty tricks. Chatroom customizations are made by allowing each chatroom to define it's own appearance using custom CSS stylesheets.

Ok, so this baby took a little longer than we expected, partly because life got busy but also because we kept thinking of bigger and more ambitious compositions. But at the end of the day, the result is something we're both momentously proud of!

I'll elaborate on all the details about the collab and the process in a walkthrough later, we have plenty of progress shots so I figure it'd be good to put them to use, but until then sit back and enjoy the view.

Anyway, I really love the way this piece turned out. I played around with some textured overlays, which really gives the nebula less of a painted look. And makes it look, well, textured I like.

Interpret the name as you will Enjoy <3

Edit: I decided I didn't like the texture overlay, so I removed it and ended up adding a bit more detail to the piece as well. Plain painted style > texture overlays of rock or bark or whatever it was. ]]> Another beauty.

I've been sick with a bad case of stupid-waste-of-time-online-multiplayer-game addiction. But I'm proud to say that I have overcome my shameful obsession and have my inspiration back. I dunno why it took me this long to do so

ANYWAY, my 'first' artwork is this: another cloud study (Yay!)

Want the story behind it? No? Well here it is:

Well, over that past week I set about changing my website into a blog. I finished, and was submitting my good ol' tutorials when I thought I should write a new tutorial about how I do my pictures. I've had plenty of requests for this sort of thing, and have attempted to do one in the past. The problem was that it felt too forced last time, because I kept saving individual progress shots, which broke my concentration.

Well I decided to try to start a new picture anyway, then decided I would record the various keypoints of my progress with Photoshop's SnapShot tool; this kept the whole process a lot more fluid.

Blah blah, this is what I came up with, and you can be expecting the tutorial/walkthrough in the next couple of days or so.

This peice could be considered a "quickie" for me, when compared to my previous artworks. It took about 3 hours I think. All done in Photoshop, with the help of my trusty Wacom.

But now I'm back and raring to go, with a brand-new, shiny Wacom.

Anyway, I thought I'd name this piece Antidote because I really missed doing digital painting in the last few months, and now that I finally can again it seems to be an antidote that makes me happy (Maybe it's the coffee )
And it looks kinda antidotey anyway...

Made entirely in Photoshop in probably about 3-4 hours.
I think it looks great, was inspired by Greg Martin once again, and I can see how Ive improved

Then I saw this car ad in a newspaper with these meteorites hitting into the dark sand around the car and it looked really cool, so I thought Id try it.

Learnt alot about depth etc in my previous works which helped in this

This was originally for a collab with ~ psamtik, which he will submit his version of soon.
But I decided I would replace his planets with my own, mostly because I wanted to sell the print of it.
So, this was done over the span of a week, alot of work went into it. The psd's (yes multiple, so my computer would cope) add up to over 1GB filesize.
Original Resolution: 6000x4500px
and i didnt use the smudge tool once. I still like ti use a brush for everything, tho some might say smudging is easier.

And thanks to *d1git, *absolutehalo and *j4m3sb0nd for their advice!
I think im gonna remove the big planet and carry on the nebula, I think the planet sorta ruins it. ]]> Fullview necessary!

I made this for the new *Spaceartists pack. I tried my best to make this my best piece, to comemorate being invited to join SA.
And I think I've achieved my goal.
Made in Photoshop7. I actually even used the smudge tool in the middle and top right (finally gotten over my idea that smudging was a bad thing).
This is a continuation from my piece Purity, but there are only a few things left from it in this piece which I havent altered.
So the overall time of this piece would be around 8 hrs probably.
I hope you all like it as much as I do, I've put my best into this and I think its turned out great.
And thanks to ~SamODJ for helping me with the name, lol, it was probably the hardest part of this. ]]>

I got inspired by a poem I found while reading a book.
