Inspired by the visit of Fortress Königstein near Dresden I decided to create a medival scene. The picture is showing an early stage of an upcoming battle/siege. Project Hyperion

This was a practise-only project. Therefore the scene itself isn't that special and new. Focus was on realism and quality.

Project Hyperion is comparable to NASA's Apollo program. The goal is the moon.

I only used own stocks. Done with Photoshop and Wacom Graphire 4. Thanks a lot to *ChrisCold for his hints and feedback!

This image has been made for Advanced Photoshop Issue 67. I wrote a tutorial about it which has been published there. I know it's not my best, but it was a very new task for me to create a tutorial for a whole image.

As little child, I was totally in love with castles and knights. I somehow still like the topic and that is why I tried this picture. It's more some kind of training and practise. But I had fun doing it and I'm satisfied for now with it. Recommendations what could be improved in future are very welcome.

Asteriant Prime

Asteriant Prime is a highly developed planet with giant city-scapes. There also is life on his moons. Due to the climate, which is very cold and windy , there are only a few savage colonies. The image shows the search for a shuttle that crashed on one of them.

The snow is not falling from heaven but blown away from ground by heavy storm. I used the freedom of art and ignored some issues

Timeframe: about one month (unregular working-time), mixture of photo, painting and 3D
Hardware used: Wacom Graphire 4, Canon EOS 350D, 50D
Software used: Adobe Photoshop, 3dsmax
Other important things used: coffee, music

In comparison to my last work it's a real quicky. I combined two or three of my photos, painted some parts here and there (the buildings/balcony) and added the planets and stars. That's it. Sounds simple

Huge improvement on the upper part. New nebula and new clouds. A complete new feeling...

My biggest project so far and I'm really happy that it's done. It took me about 40 hours to paint, render, shot ... that.
The city was prerendered with c4d and then I painted the textures in photoshop. Not perfect but it was my first attempt to paint a whole city.
The mountains are a mixture of Terragen and some photo's from my holidays.

The inspiration for this pic cames from my old "From Inside". But I changed to concept. I'm very satisfied with the explosion, that take a lot of patience and time It's no impact, but if it's one in your point of view, it's ok too
First time for a while that I made a title on the pic. It's so hard to make a good looking typo.
