The better "concept" doodles I've made during my classes (which explains the lined paper and jazz). I just needed to mess with my visual vocabulary, which after much loafing in online art galleries, I discovered was much needed. Will post something formal soon.

This one was super fun to draw; I've been trying to refine my style during this period of inactivity. Updates will be slow, and the comic sequel may not come until way later, but I'll never stop drawing.

Still a better love story than Twilight. Given I'm a damn unromantic guy.

Just a small epilogue for everypony just to throw you guys a happy end. Pay good attention to the text.

This is all in the consciousness of Luna. See the splotch behind the moon on her cutie mark? I wanted to imply that Nightmare was the cause for it. The original text that would go along with this page would say something along the lines "I still have her Nightmares." But I turned down the romantic levels a bit and concentrated more on my already abstract point.

In all honesty, I felt the entire thing is rushed after reading over the whole thing a few times. I had already planned on telling the story from the pov of Luna, so that might be in order in the future.

(Reposting little tid-bits and explanations from everywhere)

If you don't mind me saying this about my OWN comic... It is meant to be interpreted. There are lots of directions this comic could go. When I mixed up the dialogue, there were roles being reversed and you can find that the words of both Luna and Nightmare describes the both of them. It characterizes them and they characterize one another.

He is definitely reminiscent of *A* pony being. As for humanity as a whole, it can work as well. I tried to make him simple and a little awkward, but I never really thought about what he may represent of humanity as a whole. Honestly, I wanted to characterize him as this sort of Adam or Eve.

If you've read Paradise Lost by John Milton... it's incredible. He portrays Lucifer as an epic hero and while he is still quite evil, you can see blame shifting from Lucifer to Celestia. After all, if Celestia had created celestial beings such as angels and (effectively) Lucifer, should Celestia not have known that Lucifer was going to rebel? I wanted to instill this same kind of irony.

For instance, when Nightmare talks about how it was too late, I was trying to say that Luna was indeed predisposed to doing evil. However, this is kind of switched up at the end. I don't know how you interpreted that part where she says "I was always awake", but I accidentally put that in, and I was kind of surprised that I didn't think of it earlier. Had Luna done this FOR Nightmare's sake? Was she always aware that she was going to be evil?

On the other hoof, Nightmare is suddenly thrusted into the "Lucifer"-position. He is inherently, even intrinsically evil (whereas Luna was evil by a standard set by human, or in this case, ponykind).

If you were confused, that's all I could ask for!

I've cut so many pages. I believed that they were pointless fillers; excuses to cram in more cute ponies and insert lame jokes. But I decided to strip this comic a bit bare not only for time constraints, but also to avoid muddying the point of the comic.

Just a quick note. This is entire scene is occurring while Nightmare Moon is in the process of being blasted by the friendship beam. I'm trying to skip the main scenes for both time conservation and focus on the main story.

Hopefully those first two panels were as cool to you as they were to me!

I tried to make her colors come out as a reflection from the invisible floor, but they didn't quite show through.

*Edit*: Just to clarify, those ellipsis all suggest that she had more to say and so when she says "You were...", she isn't saying that Nightmare was the reason that they feared the night. She just never completed her statement. I apologize for any confusion.

Just a late little message here. This was a small reference to Paradise Lost. Lucifer was said to be predestined to defy God, having been created/originated by/from God. So what I tried to say was that Luna was possibly predisposed to do bad. Read on!

Heya! Believe it or not, it's the introduction to a pony comic I'm working on. I'll be releasing these pages as I color them (there are like 30... holy hell!).

If anyone checks this out and is into sad-ish MLP:FIM, expect lots of updates over the next few days. And if you're not into that grim/dark stuff, it's not THAT sad. It's actually kind of uplifting. And if you're not into ponies... >|: (

I'm a first-time pony-drawer! So I'm going off of guides that I've been collecting for the past few weeks.

Author's Note:
This page is to act as a premise/disclaimer; the idea presented in this little poem does not reflect the comic as a whole, but rather the mood. This page was made after the finalization of the comic. As a newbie to drawing ponies, the figures and anatomy of my characters get better as the comic rolls on. So be patient!

Based off of the fact that Luna wasn't sent to the moon after being hit by the Friendship Laser a second time.

Let me say that the protagonist is not OC. At least not to me. The story centers around the "Nightmare" part of Nightmare Moon. So the protagonist is a concept that I characterized.
