This might not be a problem for some, depending on how they hold their pens, but in my case I tend to hold it right down near the nib.
With the Inkling, you can't do this, otherwise you'll block the signal to the reciever. Therefore, I had to hold the pen in an uncomfortably high position, which took some getting used to.

If you +watch me, you might have seen from my Journal that I was quite excited about the concept behind this device. Sadly, the picture above speaks for itself.

2. Make it so that it looks good enough to not require shading, thus saving further time.
3. Give it a more western feel, moving away somewhat from Chugworth's usual animu-esque stylings. (Somewhat akin to the "Ultimate Chugworth" joke pages I did a while back, but with far more basic colouring.)

I think I was reasonably successful on points 2 and 3, but sadly not on point 1. I gave myself an hour to draw this, and it ended up taking about twice that. It might end up going more quickly with practice, however. ]]>

Anyway, here's the first in a *possible* series of images on the theme of Fighting Game Girls. As the title suggests, it's Sonya Blade in her Mortal Kombat 1 guise. You know, the version that came BEFORE the character designers decided that unibrows, square jaws, balloon tits and Mr Universe muscles were good asthetic choices for female characters.

Medium is 100% Photoshop, as usual. The pose was partially inspired by this: [link] .

I'll try and get a 16"x20" high quality print up on Shark Robot pretty soon. ]]>

As you'll notice, we've decided to go with a new format for the current run, so as not to be so limited in what we can do this time. Strips will have no set dimensions and will be as long or as short as they need to be.

When planning this relaunch, Jay and I made the decision that it should be as accessible to new readers as it is to veterans.
The new series of strips pick up 6 months after the last ones in terms of continuity. Officially, they are designed to be read directly after where the first book left off (Sally dumping Kiyoshi after he breaks her legs), but anything that happened after that can still be considered canon, albeit relatively unimportant.

The first comic isn't as awesome an opening as I'd like, but we're still getting to grips with the new format. Once the new site is completed, expect it to update once a week, on Mondays. ]]>

I redrew the entire thing at higher resolution but also completely changed Robin's face and skirt at the lineart stage. The differences in colouring should be pretty apparent. ]]>
