Really an excuse, to work on something a little different than the ones I've done lately. After a little disappointed with myself for lack of time and ideas on some of my latest pictures, for this I decided to go a little far. While I try to maintain elements that I love to draw (sea snake woman), want to leave a little the classic pin up , and do a scene alive with characters that convey, with some action and details.

Ilustracion de tematica fantastica, para un libro de corte similar al TBO4 Japan, y destinado a recaudar fondos para ayudar a la gente de África.

En realidad una excusa, y una bocanada de aire entre todo lo que he hecho últimamente. Tras decepcionarme un poco conmigo mismo por falta de tiempo y empuje, en algunas de mis últimas ilustraciones, para esta decidí cuadrarme. Si bien manteniendo elementos que no puedo evitar dibujar (esa mujer serpiente marina), quería separarme un tanto del pin up simple, y abordar una escena con vida, con personajes que transmitieran, con cierta acción y detalles en los que reparar, eso sí, con todo el detalle y el tipo de acabado que he ido desarrollando durante estos meses.

As has been a considerable time I added new things or changing others,putting everything I learned like new methods, brushes, textures, resources, etc.

Una escena de pelea callejera digna de B movie con presupuesto limitado allá por los 70/80. Por motivos diversos no ha sido hasta ahora estos dias que he podido terminarla del todo.
Como a sido un tiempo considerable he ido añadiendo cosas nuevas o cambiando otras, según iba descubriendo métodos nuevos, pinceles, texturas, recursos, etc.
Una ilustracion donde he ido poniendo todo lo que aprendia casi a modo ensayo error. Aunque a habido momentos de todo tipo, viendo el resultado final creo que a valido la pena.

The original pencil dates from 2004, and has not been until now that I've been able to paint it. Painted at some free time and especially as a 100% experimental. Illustration made in early 2009. Had in mind a series of illustrations of Gothic / urban / futuristic ambience and this one was my first approach.
It was a sort of vampire lady. Above all I like the neon building and setting. At the end make a few more illustrations with more specific and defined characters, who later would be a part of a comic project, not only a pure and simple illustration collection . At the moment I left it parked and this lady of the night is the only one I can show of those days of pure experimentation. ]]> Se trataba de una especie de dama vampiro . Quería que su mirada fuera hipnótica a la vez que sugerente. Por encima de todo me gusta el edificio de luces de neón y la ambientación. Al final realice unas cuantas pruebas mas, con personajes mas específicos y definidos, que mas adelante tomarían forma para un proyecto mas de comic que de ilustración pura y dura. Illustration for a birthday. With an atmosphere similar to the cut of the film Labyrinth, wanted to portray the obsession of the king of the globin on the innocent and beautiful princess. This is one of the realistic illustrations that recently made the more satisfied I am. I especially like the light inside the crystal ball, and the 80's look that both reflect and I like that I never tire of claiming. And of course that princess, that I really think have stolen my heart XD ]]>

After days of intensive work preparing comic tests, I've been all this week, painting pictures for me for my own enjoyment. Basically, I worked on the present one the queen of atlantis. I had it half done since Christmas and finally I been able to devote during this week the time it deserved.

A drawing that I have spent hours trying to catch a lot of care and the spirit of that atlatis really special . Hope you like him so much as my painting. ]]>

Para uno de los libros de manga realice una variante de este dibujo cambiando el rostro por una versión mas adecuada. La primera carta que realice para esta serie tras las dos de prueba. La verdad es que esta es la segunda versión, ya que la primera no gusto demasiado. Quizás un tanto estática, aunque capta en cierto modo la belleza de este tipo de ser fantástico. ]]>
