The background star field is made from scratch, by a method I discovered on my own (I should write an Instructable about, eventually). Then there's the lens flare filter to create a star. I created the thruster jets as simple triangular shapes with the polygon lasso; alternating colors and gaussian bluring. I duplicated the placed Zaku and added motion blur, and the wind filter (I think). Then I added some shadows and highlights to fit better with the light cast from the star.
I can't count the hours I spent on this, just because it was done little by little, over a long period.
But I greatly enjoy the results, and hope you do, too.

This is a photo of the Gundam model I built several months ago. I just got around to taking a good photo of it because I constructed a make-shift lightbox. The lightbox worked rather well, adding an even lighting to the model.

This is the RX-78 GP01Fb from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: Stardust Memory. It's the "good" Gundam that is piloted by the main character throughout most of the series.

This is a Level 7 American-version kit. It has a few hundred invidual pieces to put together, and took a few hours. As always I had trouble applying the rub-on decals. I added a bit of extra details with a Pigma Micron marker.
