Even the smallest among us need help sometimes...and even the smallest among us can provide it...

This is dedicated to my beautiful mom that's going in to the hospital again. When she was little she would save rainy frogs from the road and then make them little homes in her sandbox. When she had me, I started doing the same as soon as I could walk.
We're so much alike and every time she goes into the hospital I feel like something is missing. Life is just not the same when we can't save frogs together. ]]>

I used a big variety of different paint, both traditional and digital paint, such as water color, chalk, ink and oil.

As a reference I used myself as a little girl.

It was painted for the wacom contest "bring your vision to life" and this is my vision of "good versus evil".

Good and evil is just as big of a contrast as black is to white. Still the concept of good versus evil is anything but black and white.

I think ignorance breeds fear, and fear can breed evil. In many cases we are scared of the unknown, of everything we can't grasp or even control. We view it as a "predator", something we have to kill before it kills us.
With this mind set, don't we become the very thing we fear?... Predators. ]]>

Sadly I moved away shortly after and a lot of bad things happened and everyone I once knew became a distant memory. Still I think about her all the time and wonder where she is now. I think about the way people treated her, all the children (and even adults) that never gave her a chance and missed out on her beautiful heart and joy for life. All the things she could have taught them...about love, acceptance, respect and kindness.
She and I both had very tough lives for different reasons and we bonded over that. We both were so brave and we didn't fear the coming storms. We wanted to fly with them.

I know that you have grown up to be a beautiful young woman now, don't ever stop dancing with those storms... Everytime I do...I think of you.

You're always going to be there keeping me from falling down. Even though you're so far away from me right now I can still feel your kiss on my shoulder.

My tablet wasn't enjoying itself at all when I was painting this and decided to take a nap and I had to paint it with a mouse therefor I'm not completely happy with it. I haven't painted in black and white before but very much enjoyed it.
is one of the best photographers we have on DA and he kindly gave me permission to use one of his beautiful photos as a reference for this. Please go check out his work, he's such a talent.
