Right, so the screenshot [link] on which the initial mockup was based on was an April Fools' joke.

But it was an interesting interface and since the original post I had a lot of various ideas brewing, and now finally have a bit of time to work 'em out.

This is what I have so far, and it's got a little bit of everything: it uses the proper Windows 7 "window ui" (unlike the original mockup); borrows some elements from Chrome (tabs); some stuff from Firefox (panorama, awesome bar); some from addons (close tab undo button); uses metro-like style for buttons; and even has some"experimental" stuff like browser-based site login, which is based on ideas of Aza Raskin.

(strangely enough nothing has been borrowed from IE so far, hmmm )

This is just for starters though. I've got a whole host of ideas I'm gonna be fleshing out in Photoshop and will post on my blog [link]

Oh, and needless to say, this is no longer really an IE9 concept, more like a "my ideal browser" concept. Who knows, maybe somebody will decide to turn this into an actual Firefox addon/theme. ]]> Updated Sep. 11, 2010

Anyway, so since I needed the tab graphics I went ahead and made them myself, and created a landscape version as well, even though such doesn't really exist by default.

I needed a template file where I can work on interface for an Android app, with portrait and landscape views. So I just grabbed a hi-rez image of Nexus One off HTC's website and made this. Feel free to reuse it for whatever but obviously the images aren't mine.
(It is sized such that the screen is exactly 480x800 pixels, for obvious reasons )

I like how it's turning out so far, though I'm finding it difficult to keep the 2-color theme going, yellow just doesn't work as well for some things. Already I'm having difficulty with the bottom part, but hopefully I'll figure it out
