I must admit, I'd never even heard of these gorgeous birds before, and it was definitely a fun challenge to paint! Of course, my scanner decided to chew up the blues (as it always does), but I was able to fix it so it's fairly faithful to the original.

This is the first ever kitty that I've ever painted. I also painted this on a sheet of hot-press Fabriano watercolor paper that I wanted to test out, and I just love this paper. It's also bright white, so colors are super vibrant!

I couldn't think of a more fitting title - "Stompstompstompitystompstomp" probably wouldn't have fit, but that's what this secretary bird is about to do in a second.

Secretary birds are intriguing raptors! With their long legs they can stand at four feet tall, and have an impressive wingspan as well! It loves to eat snakes, and often does a stompydance over the heads of venomous species such as puff adders and cobras.
