I have been rendering Apo images at between 4,00 and 10,000 for some time now, with renders taking anywhere from 2 hours to 18 hours. Someone mentioned that they rendered at 200 and then used a digital editing program like Gimp to duplicate the layers and play with the saturation to compensate for the lack of density. I was really curious to see if they would look different, so the two images above are not edited in a digital program, but I did do a post-render on each and saved them with the same params. So, they come straight from Apo, no external post work, except to combine them into this image.

I'm allowing this to be view at it's full size so you should be able to see it pretty close up to look at the details.

Now the question is: Can you tell me which one is at 200 density and which one is at 4000 density?

Fractal "Morning Has Broken" was made in Apophysis 7X v15 by using the Splits Cylinder Tutorial by Fiery-Fire and postwork done in PhotoPlus X4.

Full view for detail.

Art Copyright

My artwork may not be edited, reproduced or modified in any way without my express written permission. Thus, you don't need to email FE spot (.frs) files. They can just be noted back and forth like Apo flames or UF files. This can be useful for Round Robins when params need to be sent back and forth between participants. The picture is of an FE spot file sent to me that I opened in Notepad and it's corresponding image from FE. Spot files are clearly text files, so they can be Note'd back and forth. You just need to use Notepad as the "middle man" between the dA Note and Fractal Explorer.

A Note about Downloading: If you just left-click the "Download" link to the left of the image, there's a good chance your browser will try to open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader WITHIN your browser. Some people may experience a problem with this. If you want to actually save the file to your computer hard drive and open it locally using Adobe Reader, right-click the "Download" link and click on either "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" (depending on your browser) and then save it to the desired location on your hard drive. Then you can open it using the free Adobe Reader program.
