I finished watching the anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica recently, not usually a genre I follow but this one is something else. Highly recommended, don't let looks deceive you!

I felt like I had to draw at least one piece of fanart for it since I enjoyed it so much.. here are my two favourite characters, Homura and Mami.

Sen and Haku from Spirited Away. One of my all time favourite films, I watched it again yesterday and felt a great need to draw something for it. The blossoming of the relationship between Sen and Haku in the film is so endearing!

Once again I found it very hard to stay away from the house style, though I tried to let a little bit of how I usually draw seep in.

I felt that the second game(Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box) had some pretty dark themes for a game with such a light visual style, so I played around with drawing him in Mike Mignola's style instead for fun. ^^

A bit about Rodger the butler:

Former owner of the The Warm Welcome inn, a less than thriving business had forced him and his wife Putrice into a different line of work. They are now treasured members of the servant household in the employ of some lord or other.

In his spare time Rodger takes pleasure in the art of folding cloth napkins into pleasing forms(the Bird of Paradise remains his favourite).

I'm still not certain what Rodger is, some kind of goblin or ogre perhaps. He isn't a vampire, that's for sure.

Did this tonight.. mostly Painter, then touchups in Photoshop.

Heard about this from *nJoo's! Somebody at Conceptart.org posted a picture he drew of his original character requesting for other people to draw him.. by all means like many others have done in the past, but through a stroke of luck a bunch of pros and Massive Black artists took him up on it.

Long time no see, guys. I've been flat out, work has been taking up a large portion of my time these days(same as everyone else!) and my own personal output has diminished greatly T__T

anyway, I've been working on this bookplate design piece over a couple of weekends, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Heavily influenced by a couple of my favourite artists of the Art Deco & Art Nouveau periods; Gustav Klimt and Alphonse Mucha. There was also a Taisho Art exhibition in Sydney recently which I went to check out, which was fantastic! When the Orient meets Deco the results are just beautiful

But yeah, those influences and my undying love for this game resulted in this picture hahaha. Fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series will probably be able to pick out the DSRK elements as well as the Nocturne elements. I'm such a big nurd.

All digital. I drew Raidou in Mangastudio, and the rest of the elements were drawn and coloured in Photoshop.

The Deities of Land and Sea - The story of Ghanyang and Siniyin.

It appears that Ghanyang, youngest and favourite son of the Sea Lord Harranyang, has fallen hopelessly in love with the goddess of Mount Siniyin. At dusk Siniyin will come down to the shores to meet him, where each day he will bring her a gift from the sea to try and impress her.

Ghanyang: Today I have brought you a gift most rare and unique, my love.
Siniyin: My stars, what am I to do with such a thing? Pray return that poor creature to the sea, where he belongs!

Ghanyang's not too good at getting girls what they like, but she still loves him anyway.

Happy Halloween!

This is the Apple Gatherer.

The spirit of a child molester and murderer who was hung by the other villagers in the boughs of an apple tree on All Hallow's Eve, the "Apple Gatherer" is known in these woods to be a particularly malicious bogeyman. During the twilight hours he lies in wait for small children passing by his territory, taking on the guise of an old man, he tells them enchanting stories of the faerie lands to win their trust. When the child lets down their guard, and begins to visit him more often, on no less than the thirteenth visit he will whisk them off to his lair to be torn apart and consumed. After another thirteen days he will return, with a new apple growing from his horrible head, a red apple if his victim was a girl, and a yellow one if it was a boy.

Isn't it funny that a huge city of waterfalls has giant fish that live in the sky? Here the baker's son offers up a treat to one of them. The skyfish in this city are tame, much like pigeons. Really really large pigeons.

This is something I've been working on over a few days and is the largest painting I've attempted, all up took me around 35-40 hours.

This is Perseid, former Lieutenant of the Queen's Guard. He left the service for reasons unknown to do some adventuring of his own. His travels led him to the Eastern lands, and he was the subject of much talk when he finally returned home, adorned with the spoils of the East.

The original plan was to colour him, but I've grown so used to seeing him in black and white that the colours just weren't working out. I was working on him over a few days. I'd dab a bit each day and go off and do something else.

I'm playing a game called Wizardry at the moment and he was inspired by Terra's character designs.
