Morning came and found the five friends outside Sugarcube Corner readying themselves for the trip to Canterlot.  They had only been waiting a few minutes when Pinkie Pie bounced out the front door, her usual wide smile on her face and her saddlebags across her back.

Rainbow Dash flitted about over Ponyville one Friday morning, snickering to herself as she headed for Sugarcube Corner.  She had just gotten the idea for an awesome prank on Applejack and she knew Pinkie Pie was always up for a good prank; not to mention she needed Pinkie's help in acquiring the flour and food coloring that would be needed.  She glided down the street and landed in front of the confectionary shop's front door, still snickering as she trotted inside.  The bell above the door chimed daintily and a familiar blue mare appeared from the kitchen.

"Well, we've heard about Rarity, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie," Princess Luna said with an entertained smile as she skimmed over her notepad, "That just leaves Fluttershy and Applejack."  She looked up across the table to the only stallion present with them.  "Big Macintosh, would you be so kind to give your account so we can finish this delightful narrative?"

"Delightful for you, maybe," Dash muttered under her breath, earning her a silencing glare from Twilight.

Macintosh sunk lower in his seat in an effort to go unnoticed; he knew it was impossible to hide his massive frame from everyone, but he was willing to try.

At a glance, it appeared little had changed in the appearance of the group in the twenty minutes since Princess Luna had finished relating Twilight's mishap from the night before.  However, closer inspection would reveal an empty plate that once held a sandwich in front of Big Macintosh and bowls of salad ranging from partially eaten to just a few leaves remaining at Fluttershy, Rarity, and Luna's places.  As for th ]]>

She panted, heart pounding as she stood in the center of town.  She could hear the blood coursing through the veins in her ears, sounding like the roar of a distant ocean.  Her mind was numb, barely registering where she was or that she was covered with a sticky red substance, the pungent scent of copper filling the air.  Her eyes slowly fell to an object on the ground: a stained knife that glinted in the midday sun.  Next to it was a growing red pool.  Her eyes trained on the pool and slowly moved to its source.

The deed had been done.
