Hey gang! Got one last submission for ya, and I saved the SWEETEST one for last! Cookies!!!!

Another designed just for fun, I've had this 'play on words' idea from the beginning of the contest, but never really spent any time on it...it would just fester in the bowels of my mind. Until tonight! I decided to have some last-minute fun and bring this idea to the world; and here it is, in all it's "Ate. Bit." glory!

Now, where's the 16-bit milk?

After looking at everyone else's design, hmm... Not sure I did mine "right," ha ha. I guess I went WAY off the side and tried to create a scene for a video game, something I'd enjoy looking at and being a part of/play. If nothing else, participating in this challenge makes me want to create other 8-bit artwork, though maybe not exactly like the thing I created here.

This is one of my entries for the 8-bit Challenge! As I know there are amazing pixel artists out there, I didn't try to beat them at their own game; instead, I tried to come up with the best idea I could think of for the design. I took to heart the contest's purpose to make a design that "a gamer would be proud to wear". So I came up with a design touting the ever-present decision for the everyday game player Magic, Melee, or Archery?

I used a true 8-bit style (not 16-bit and such) for the front side, to try and evoke nostalgia for the NES age of gaming.

8-Bit Challenge: Pixel by Pixel, Bit by Bit

This would probably look better in black but there was only a white hoodie in the asset pack and I didn't think to edit the colour of it myself

I was going to enter this contest when it first came out but free time was a bit restricted and I never felt like doing an entry when I had the chance to. I was originally going to attempt something spectacular with a limited pallet and an elemental theme but art block got in the way

So I've thrown this together. Went a bit crazy with the pixels. Didn't do everything I wanted to but time isn't on my side and hopefully this is in before the deadline. To be completely honest I don't like it but I had to submit something

Judging by what's said in the rules, it seems like anything digital could qualify for this challenge since all graphics are made of pixels - even traditional art that's been scanned or photographed

For the sake of argument, the smallest squares are the pixels, every other square/rectangle is just made of many of the smaller squares

I made all of this on Microsoft Paint (one aching pixel at a time) and arranged the pictures on the template in Photoshop.

... It took me a total of about 10 hours of continual face-plant-on-screen time and it would've taken me 5, but my original piece was ruined since I saved the picture as a JPG file on paint...and had to start all over, if you know what I mean...

It's based on my favorite seafood: octopus, and I spontaneously thought of the "octo-bit" pun while I was working on it. I'm not sure if it's copied (the pun), but...what the heck. I'm "taking a risk." (8-bit creative brief)

I thought about doing something like this initially but didn't think I'd be able to...well I have, though I think my tv's are a bit block color when looking at the body.
I was very tempted to put a 'u' in color...but I thought it's probably going to be looked at by more americans that english people so I refrained from it...

What I actually mean by I live my life in color, what about you? Is well...I guess I live my life to the full experience, take every little detail in, color brings depth, it brings life to things. Life would be dull without color, but it is how some people choose to live. They live in fear of failure, they live in darkness. Life shouldn't have limits!

My last design before the 8-Bit Design Battle ends, a retro 80's hoodie done in 8-bit.

This design just came out of left field, as I was going to draw a sunset. After a couple of comments from a good friend, however, this is what it evolved into!

Also wanted to say that this Design Battle has been one of the neatest things I have ever done, and to thank all of the people who have commented on my designs. Also want to thank all the people who have designed for this contest, as ever entry I have seen ROCKS!
