Today’s video records my thoughts after reading a review of Nextuus on the blog Webcomic Whimsy by my buddy Sam (aka :iconwoohooligan:) - woohooligancomics.tumblr.com/p…

To start, I discuss the fact that I haven’t sought or received much criticism of Nextuus due mostly to fear of what those criticisms may be. However, even though it was hard to hear some of the points Sam had to make, I walked away with ideas for how to improve my comic.

A difficulty I have with a critique at this point in the story (10 years and 1000+ pages in), is how can I make the comic better without going back and changing existing content? The answer, ultimately, is that I don’t. I have to choose which notes I can apply moving forward so that the story gets better and better.

Nextuus has been a constant learning experience for me. Even though it was scary to have someone review my work, I’m better for it. My stories, both current and future, will be better for it, too. Heck, I might not even be as afraid to submit my comic for review again!
