What started as a silly sketch ended up evolving into yet another full-fledged fanart of the Mane6 team's Them's Fightin' Herds' Velvet, who I suppose I only naturally have something of a soft spot for. Especially now that we have had a chance to learn more about her character as the project's Indiegogo campaign inches ever closer to its funding goal, I think taking the time to appreciate her own ample reindeer neck fluff is probably something she does relatively often, or in any case, it wouldn't surprise me since appreciating herself seems to be chief among her hobbies.

If you haven't already contributed to the project's funding drive, please do consider doing so, or at the very least help to spread the word going into the final week! This team has worked so incredibly hard on this project over the course of the last several years that I would genuinely love to see them enjoy every success with it.

Just another little small and simple gift for a friend drawn during EQLA, this time for my dearest who was such a delight to meet and spend some time with! There's a story behind this one which I won't elaborate on here and now, but suffice to say that the key lime pie martinis at P.F. Chang's are actually quite exceptional, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a little more culture in their lives.

I must apologize that it's taken me so terribly long to get around to uploading this. This was made as just a small, and simple gift for the ever-lovely of the during the 2015 EQLA convention, as not only is he a delightful person but also, really, I should and do credit him entirely for spurring me to attend in the first place. I'm afraid the weekend was such a tornado of activity for me that I wasn't able to put nearly as much time into creating little gift-arts for people as I had wanted to, but still... something to plan on with future conventions I suppose!

Made with ink and Prismacolor pencils on paper. It's been so long since I've uploaded any traditional art onto a computer that I had forgotten what scanners and cameras do to colors!

Herd Mentality

I am honestly not a video gamer myself, but nevertheless, when I decided to see what all the fuss was about with Them's Fightin' Herds, the spiritual successor to the Mane6 team's "Fighting is Magic" game, I was immediately sold on the story premise and especially, the absolutely fantastic character designs (especially those of Arizona and Velvet, probably not coincidentally because they bear a certain resemblance to my favorite pair of ponies ). Lauren Faust has a wonderfully unique art style and such a great ability to create engrossing worlds and characters, that I am sincerely looking forward to what is to come with this project, and wish it greatest success.

I know I just returned from a long absence and posted something again, and still haven't caught up with my new messages to say nothing of several months' worth I need to sort through, but returning to deviantART yesterday, it came to my attention that today is the birthday of a friend of mine, and I couldn't let that occasion slip by without doing something!

is a rather long-time fandom acquaintance of mine, a treasured shipping buddy, and also somebody I had the great pleasure of getting to personally meet and spend some time with a few weeks ago at EQLA, and who I would as such consider a dear friend now. While he's almost as big a Rarijack fan as I am, he also happens to be very fond of Cloudchaser, and since I already have quite a lot of Rarity and Applejack artworks under my belt (with no end of such things conceivably in sight, fair warning) I hoped he might enjoy this just as much or more as a change of pace.

To all of the brave men and women of the world who have ever donned the barista's apron (green or otherwise), you have my most sincere kudos and appreciation, for all of the spilled milk, spraying syrups, matcha-filled lungs and caramel-covered clothing that you endure to keep the masses caffeinated. I may or may not know these things from personal experience also, but in either case, I gratefully salute you.

Hahaha poor Applejack... she knows when to pick and choose her battles I guess and this is one she wants nothing to do with. This is one of those ideas with these two that I feel was just begging to be done eventually really, and in some form or another it probably has been. It's a simple concept but one I had a great deal of fun with.

This is one of those entries that probably comes across as shippier than I'd initially envisioned, not that there is anything inherently wrong with that and despite the fact that the mood of it was heavily inspired by the music (if not the lyrics) of this song as well as my own evening at a coffee shop earlier that night. Mostly in this entry I was wanting to see if I could create a certain sense of atmosphere in the limited period of time and within the small-scale confines or artistic rendering that a daily cartoon blog such as this permits, and I do at least feel that was successful enough. Plus, any excuse to draw Rarity in her artsy-beatnik ensemble is a good one I suppose.

This picture is also a reference to this piece I made as a gift for a friend.

Friends Forever #8 was a phenomenal issue of the official pony comic, even aside from my own entirely biased stance on the subject (though that does help too, I'm sure). Rarity and a reluctant Applejack in old-fashioned aviator gear was too hilariously adorable a thing to pass on doing, though I'm afraid I didn't have quite as much time to put into this one as I might have liked. Still though, I can pretty much guarantee it won't be the last entry that issue inspires!

One of my daily art-blog's entries that I really enjoyed myself and liked the outcome of, that remains among my least-popular entries to date... this is why I apparently would be the wrong person to pick-and-choose which entries should make it to deviantART were I limiting my number of them here! Anyhow this was an image idea that I always wanted to do, long before I ever thought up my Tumblr, of Rarity and Applejack as they were both affected by Poison Joke in "Bridle Gossip" back in season one. At the very least I'd always wanted to draw Rarity in her "cursed" form, and it was tremendously fun! So much so I wouldn't rule out doing it again, but that's another image for another day perhaps.

Alternate title (which doesn't fit on dA): So how in tarnation does this thing work, anyhoo?

Most of the time I have a certain idea in mind for the entry I'll draw any given day or even days in advance; this picture was one of those other times when I have absolutely nothing planned and complete randomness is the result. However, I will say that the idea of Applejack being curious about unicorn magic is one that has occurred to me before; despite the fact that she is by far the most pragmatic member of the Mane Six she's exhibited a certain degree of superstition or discomfort around magic before I think, both when the ponies are first introduced to Zecora and also in "Winter Wrap Up" (though, Earth Pony tradition also played a role there). I think it's primarily due to lack of knowledge or close familiarity with the subject matter rather than any real disdain for unicorns (and Shamanic zebras) and their abilities, and I do think she'd actually be very interested in trying to understand how magic works, if she had a unicorn she felt comfortable enough with to try at least!

Fun-fun pet play date! Sadly, I'm sure this is how a "play session" between Opalescence and Winona would go, or at least before they perhaps had a chance to get a little better acquainted and to understand one another better! (well, that sounds somewhat familiar...). This was an idea that I had had for a while, and actually had a finished version of prepared for my blog but at the last minute went and redrew the picture entirely from scratch as seen here as opposed to the original standard left-to-right, linear composition. I personally think the end result is one of my better results on the blog to date honestly, at least in terms of image composition, even though I think it might be my least-popular entry so far... ah well though!

Despite their many dissimilarities, Rarity and Applejack both share the title and status of Big Sister, something which I've always felt results in a rather unique and special element to their relationship with each other as well. Even though Rainbow Dash has adopted the occasional role of honorary big sister to Scootaloo these days, for these two the position frequently means they are left to act as pseudo-parents to their younger sisters, one fact which plays a role in my interpreting them as the two most mature members of the Mane Six (even if Rarity needs a little lesson is patience occasionally, and Applejack can tend towards overprotectiveness at times!). Whatever the case may be, I do think it's created a very endearing facet to both of their characters.

Hah, and of course "Look Before You Sleep" was bound to see an entry sooner or later (or both sooner as well as again later, more likely), as the episode which started it all as far as the relationship of these two in the series goes. This was actually an old sketch of mine that I've had sitting around in my files for a good while, which was originally going to be part of another image series but which I felt would be best suited to this. It was fun to color in traditional "spooky uplighting" fashion and presented a chance to be somewhat goofy. Silly Twilight.

As the only two ponies of the Mane Six (to our knowledge and my understanding) to be born and raised in Ponyville, I often wonder if Rarity and Applejack have been pretty well-acquainted from the time they were young. Certainly in such a small town they must have known each other from fillyhood, and my most excellent friend Prancypants has done a good job of warming me up to the idea that they were rather close before having some sort of falling-out or misunderstanding at some point in his fanfiction on the subject. In any case, they undeniably make for a cute pair of fillies!

Well, here we go. Some of you who have been following my posts recently have gathered that I have had some bigger projects in the works over the past couple of weeks/months, and at long last I am ready to unveil one of them, or as ready as I shall ever be anyhow, I think! Inspired by karpet-shark's delightful Twily-Daily blog (now sadly retired), I've decided to launch a daily art blog of my own, after close to a year of ruminating on the notion of creating a tumblr account. Despite the title it will not be a strictly "shipping" blog either (not that I've ever drawn any seriously "shippy" art myself, really), rather just focused on my two favorite ponies who have never failed to inspire me, so it will be something I should have no trouble staying with and hopefully something everyone can enjoy.

If it does not go without saying, most of the art will not be as involved and finished as this launch image, and indeed some days there may only be simple sketches to share, but nevertheless there will always be something! I've sincerely missed being more involved with the fandom on a regular basis and I feel this is an excellent way to do so... I hope you all will enjoy.

So! After months of inactivity I am back with new fanart at last, something that has been a work-in-progress since the episode which inspired it initially aired back at the end of January (if that tells you anything about how little time I have had at my disposal recently). My good friend harwicks-art, knowing my propensity for drawing these two expressed a desire to see 'more blue Rarijack' from the fandom following "Three's A Crowd", so this is my interpretation of magically-sickened ponies, which was surprisingly fun to do actually. I should probably feel guilty for saying so... poor pathetic little things.

And now that it is posted, be sure to check out the sister version to this by my said fabulous friend below (as he apparently got tired of waiting for me to finish mine!). It was great fun conspiring to post them together at once.

Cover Art: How Far Away You Roam

After weeks of regrettably being tied up with work and real life responsibilities, I have returned with some new fanart to share once again, huzzah! This piece was made as a gift of sorts for my dearest darling friend, the exceptionally talented (Ponydora) Prancypants, as the cover art for his latest work of fabulous fanfiction How Far Away You Roam. The story is a chaptered sequel to his acclaimed oneshot The Fruits of Their Labors which was written as a birthday gift for me, so when he told me he wanted to write a sequel I offered to create the cover, since I'm always glad for an excuse to draw more of my favorite ponies anyway and it's been ages since I've done anything with a proper background (foreground, in this case?), simple as this one is. I probably went at least a little overboard on it, but it was tremendous fun, and especially the opportunity to design their cozy winter clothes.

On that note I have several concept sketches which were made in preparation for this artwork (or mostly just for kicks, if I'm being honest), which have been uploaded to my Scraps and can be found below for anyone interested.

A Most Special Occasion

Indeed it is, and more specifically, a birthday celebration for another friend of mine, the ever-sweet and lovely . This picture is a little bit different for me of course as I don't normally draw non-pony fanart, and I'll be the first to admit that I'm not overly-familiar with "Littlest Pet Shop" but as my friend is fond of both of these series I could think of few things that felt more appropriate as a gift, or in any case I really could not get this mental image of Fluttershy out of my mind once it got in there. So I sincerely do hope that you enjoy it, my dearest! Thank you so much for always being so supportive and for managing to brighten my inbox (and day) on a continual basis; you have a true talent for being able to bring me a smile and it absolutely does mean the world.

At long last, some brand-new artwork being uploaded for a change, and this time for a very special cause! This picture was made as a birthday gift for my friend the lovely *RenaTurnip, a talented pony pixel-artist (she made the charming avatar I am currently using, in fact) and a genuinely kind person on top of that. She has something of a soft spot for Lyra, a pony who I have been meaning to draw for ages now anyway, and also for the fanfiction "Background Pony" which I wanted to give a nod to (despite having not read the story myself, and also my desire to draw a nice cheerful Lyra), so I hope she will enjoy this even if it is a couple of days late at this point.

October 1st this year has been designated as Applejack Appreciation Day, and while I personally feel that it is a terrible shame that such a day is even needed to get people to come together and show Applejack the love and appreciation she deserves, that doesn't mean I would miss participating for anything, either. So here she is, and while I do apologize that I was unable to get anything entirely new finished for the occasion there should be more work featuring fabulous orange farmponies coming in the very near future.

Dearest darling Applejack, how on earth do you manage to be so ridiculously cute? There is no doubt in my mind at least that you will always be Best Pony.

Another old artwork that I am only getting around to posting now. This picture, a true doodle in every sense of the word was originally made as a small bonus birthday gift for my friend *harwicks-art back in March, but for a long time I was unsure as to whether or not I should post it here as well... I'm still not exactly sure I won't regret the decision, but decided to do it anyways and besides, my gallery can always use a little more Twilight art. My friend is something of a gourmet when it comes to any sort of sandwich-making ingredients and is a huge fan of artisanal pickles, as well as Twilight Sparkle in particular and so I hoped it might make him smile. Honestly it probably does belong in scraps and I may end up moving it there eventually, but for now at least I will let it be.

Gift - Seaddle's Best

And now for something entirely different! This piece was made as a birthday gift for a friend of mine, the ever-eloquent (Ponydora) *Prancypants. As my friend is a fellow Rarity fan, and also a voracious coffee drinker I was hit by the inspiration one day that a travel coffee tumbler might be an appropriate gift for him, and the result is this piece, entirely handpainted with ceramic underglaze paints, then kiln-fired so it is a fully functional item. I apologize that it was not especially easy to photograph well (even if one is a good photographer and has a decent camera, neither of which can really be said of me) but I did the best I could nevertheless.

Spike's Pajamas

Made as a companion piece to my "Baby Dragon" artwork, of just a few loosely-colored sketches of the Mane Six reacting to Spike in his adorable footie pajamas, much to his (justified) indignation. They're just a bunch of silly things and honestly would probably be just as well suited to Scraps, but since a lot of people apparently like them I felt I may as well upload them to my main gallery anyway.

These two pictures mark the first time I've ever really drawn Spike, save for maybe doodling him once or twice before. It was quite a lot of fun, though I'm not sure I'm entirely satisfied with my own stylistic interpretation on him. More experimentation is probably in order, I imagine.

Baby Dragon

At long last I am getting around to uploading this here! This picture is not "new" persay, but new to deviantART at least, having thus far only been uploaded to my blog I believe. It was inspired by my dear friend harwicks-art, whose description/interpretation of Spike's character in a discussion once as a youngster who "needs to be put to bed, reminded not to give himself tummy aches, all of that" struck me as being so incredibly sweet and endearing that I was instantly consumed with the mental image of a cute sleepy Spike in footie pajamas, which I just had to draw. Now, while Spike is a baby dragon I realize he's not an absolute infant of course and I do believe he generally shows remarkable maturity for his age (as stated as being around 8 years old by Lauren Faust, that is) the majority of the time, but still, I really couldn't help myself with this one.

This artwork was made as a gift, for a very dear friend of mine, the lovable and highly talented *harwicks-art. The idea started as a simple muro-doodle several months ago when I sent him a batch of cookies in the mail, and he liked the concept so much he expressed interest in maybe seeing a finished version someday, something I was more than happy to do. I hope you all enjoy seeing it as well now that I'm getting it up here at last, and once again Happy Birthday dearest! Alternate title: Applejack is Best Fainting Couch

So, yes, it's taken me a while but if you've all been wondering when I would finally be getting up a new artwork inspired by the recent season three "shipping" content (since obviously, such a thing was demanding to be done) today is at last the day! I was inspired in this instance by Rarity's fainting scene in Magic Duel (sans ugly dress obviously), where Applejack gallantly races to her rescue because of course, fainting onto soft springy turf and risking getting grass stains on one's coat would doubtless be the worst kind of tragedy. In all seriousness though, and shipping/"canon" or whatever aside I just thought it was a very cute moment, and if nothing else goes to show how far the two of them have come as friends over the course of the series thus far, which is always a very nice thing.

Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy, and as I imagine this will be my last new artwork of the year Happy New Year, everyone!

Greetings, deviantART! I'm afraid it's been a while, as I have been on something of an inadvertent hiatus from this place and much of the pony-fandom in general recently due to sheer busyness, but at long last I have managed to finish a new piece of fanart and am happy to be able to share it here at last. Just a cute random moment this time, in the form of an impromptu photo opportunity for Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, an idea which popped into my head one day while I was busy working and just wouldn't let go until I acted on it. It can be said I don't draw enough of these two despite the fact that I am fond of them and enjoy their chemistry together, so hopefully you all will enjoy it... with any luck it there will be more to come very soon, as well!

Another hasty, hasty picture from me, that I'm uploading because I have nothing newer and better to share and because people have been asking me to get some more art up! This is another picture that I'm quite sure I'll scrap eventually, seeing as how I think I scribbled it out in around fifteen minutes all-told, and as for what's going on here (as I explained on my blog, and shall quote), it's one of those classic cliche "oops-someone-has-tripped-and/or-fallen-onto-the-other-person-so-now-we-shall-both-just-stare-and-blush-furiously-for-a-few-moments" that came about as a result of trying to draw Rarity's head from such an angle and which apparently led my shipper-brain to add Applejack in as a natural course of action. So, ah, yes, enjoy or something, and as always

EDIT: Oh yes, and at this point (if it does not go without saying) I have decided not to scrap this piece after all, or at least not any time soon thanks to all of the kind and encouraging positive feedback I have received. Much appreciated dears!

Colorful Blush

So, it's been a while now since I've last uploaded anything, and though I will be the first person to admit this is not a stellar artwork by any definition it arguably is better than nothing. It was made as an excuse to play around with colors more than anything (and of course, Rainbow Dash is the ideal subject for such a thing), but despite my original intent I don't think I went quite bold enough here, or at least didn't accomplish what I wanted because I'm sure nobody can argue dear Rainbow is on the fabulously garish side in terms of saturation here. As such, and because I'm not particularly thrilled with it I will likely move it to Scraps eventually, but for now am posting it to my main gallery because several people have asked me to upload some new work recently, and I know not everyone watches Scraps so this way at least they can have a chance to see it if they like.

EDIT: Well now, after receiving many kind comments from so many people I've actually reconsidered moving this to Scraps (or at least for the foreseeable future), as if nothing else this piece was a valuable experiment for me. Thank you all for the lovely feedback!

I didn't intend on making this, or uploading any new art again so soon but thanks to ~Telaros (and bless him for his amazing efforts to inform the entire brony community of deviantART, I think) it was brought to my attention that today is Applejack Appreciation Day, and I very well couldn't neglect showing my second-favorite pony my support if there was anything I could do to help it. Unfortunately I had very little notice though, and even less time to actually create an artwork but I thought I could at least color a silly old sketch of mine that I've always been fond of if nothing else, and the result is this (perhaps an hour's worth of work). I suppose something is better than nothing though, no?

Shine Like Rarity

Well, as promised since people have been asking about her, here is my latest pony-work, a portrait of the ever-lovely unicorn and my most favorite FiM character (yada-yada, you all already know this ), Rarity!

This picture was made for something of a "special occasion", and in fact was created solely with the talented VA Tabitha St. Germain in mind, as it was a gift for her. My friend, the ever-kind and lovely *Prancypants attended Everfree Northwest recently you see, and as I was unable to go to the convention myself due to work and other responsibilities he was thoughtful enough to take a couple of copies in my stead, to gift to Tabitha and also to get an autograph for me (I'm very grateful ). I'm told she liked it which is all the praise I could ever hope to receive in my life, but hopefully everyone else might enjoy seeing it as well, so I'm happy to share it!

Poor, sweet, adorable Applejack! Consistently placing last or very near it on the Mane Six ponies popularity polls, and the subject of "background pony" jokes and the like. I've never understood why more people don't care for her, because in my opinion she has a fantastic personality and a very appealing design. Who wouldn't want a pony like her as a friend, really? But even I, who decidedly adore her admittedly don't draw enough of her I'm ashamed to say, something I figured I should start trying to remedy now. So here she is, in all of her loose-hair (just because) lovable glory.

Finally, nearly a month after I actually finished work on the original version of this piece (as you see it here) and several months after starting talks with my client ~KerenskyLI planning it out, I am able to post this at last. This piece took me quite outside my comfort zone as I still don't consider myself especially proficient with drawing/painting complicated inorganic objects (which I suppose a Russian KV-85 tank would certainly qualify as) but in the end I'm relatively happy with it, and am relieved to be able to post it at last.

In my own opinion, this picture is quite reminiscent of my Steampunk Rarity artwork in many ways, but this is essentially exactly what my client asked for and he was happy with it, which is the most important thing of course! And I did have quite a lot of fun working on it, which is always a nice thing.

I know I probably should wait to upload even more of my older work onto dA, but eh! I didn't feel like it anymore.

So, as the title implies this picture was drawn as a birthday gift for a friend of mine, who happens to love these two ponies (and Rarijack, ahem~) as much as I do and who requested a picture like this when prompted. I went for something different here with a really closely-cropped scene, but from the response on my blog at least people seem to like it and so I hope it was a good decision.

For people who don't especially care for this pairing, feel free to interpret it in any non-shipping context that you like! My friend ~jodyjm13 suggested that perhaps Rarity is just encouraging a glum Applejack after a hard day, and I actually really like the idea. Too bad I'm not a fanfiction author or I might try for a story about it!

My latest commission, and a brand-new piece of artwork being uploaded to my gallery for once. I still have a few other older works which I need to upload from my blog, but I wanted to get this one up as soon as possible because unfortunately, Blogger has an annoying tendency to resize all of my large images and I'd like to have a full-resolution version of this piece available for people to see.

This commission was done for my lovely friend ~jodyjm13, who wanted a scene of Zecora preparing and testing out her powder that she used on Nightmare Night. The numerous light sources presented something of a challenge, but I had a great deal of fun with the project all the same.

Bitter Alcoholic Fluttershy

Hah... ahh, I suppose it's about time I got around to uploading this one. This fanart was done as something of a joke, and is a reference to a line from a fanfiction, "Diamond in the Rough" by *AbsoluteAnonymous (who used my fanart, yay <3) that describes Fluttershy as "joylessly pounding down shot after shot like an old, bitter alcoholic". Even though it was quite out of character, I'm afraid I found the mental image to be absolutely hilarious, and told the author on the EqD thread that someday, I would make a fanart of the scene. And roughly six months later, I finally did!

... It's come to my attention that I draw an awful lot of of fanarts involving ponies with alcohol, but it doesn't actually say anything about me. Really!

This little picture was made as a belated birthday gift for a friend of mine, the sweet *Kateasaur, as Spitfire just so happens to be her favorite pony! Unfortunately I found out about her birthday nearly a month after the fact, and didn't have as much time as I would have liked to put into it, but all the same she liked it and that was the only thing that mattered to me! Hugs and such, dear! <3

Immediately after I finished this picture I realized that Spitfire bears an almost uncanny resemblance to what is probably the most generic, official Applejack vector of them all, but of course that only occurred to me after I finished working on it and not during the process, ah well! In any case, I did enjoy myself playing around with pretty colors for the background~

A birthday gift for a very dear friend of mine, the amazing and extremely talented artist . Twilight is his favorite pony and so I knew I wanted to create some sort of artwork of her for him, but unfortunately had little notice so went with a relatively simple portrait-type picture, and also used a slightly different coloring style than usual simply because I enjoy mixing things up every now and then. He seemingly enjoyed her though, and that was all that mattered to me. *^_^*

Another commission! For once I drew these two together for somebody else, and not just for my own fangirly enjoyment, haha~

This piece was made for TheBaffMan of pony community fame, who wanted a cute little scene of Applejack and Rarity bucking apples together, much to the latter's distress here and the former's amusement. Unlike most of my other commissioned works, Baff was perfectly content to go with something more simple than a full-fledged painting, and closer to the style of my simpler cartoon sketches that I normally refer to as my doodles. It was my pleasure to comply, and happily he was pleased with the end result as you see here!

This picture was made as a thank-you for a friend of mine, the lovely and talented *dustysculptures who was kind enough to present me with one of the sweetest gifts anyone could ever imagine (an adorable little Applejack sculpt which you can find in his gallery here. She is precious! ). Trixie is one of his favorite ponies, and I felt it was the absolute least I could do to show him my gratitude by drawing her, and even if I didn't have nearly as much time to do so as I might have wished. But nevertheless, I hope people will enjoy seeing her.

Just a photo reposted from my blog, of an adorable miniature Rarity plushie (she's only about four inches high) that an anonymous, wonderful individual was kind enough to commission and have sent to me as a gift! I have always adored working Rarity-the-artist in her sewing glasses, and this little darling is one of the loveliest gifts I ever could have asked for... here she is standing atop Bernadette (my sewing machine) just waiting to supervise me on my next project.

EDIT: I'm moving this picture from scraps to my main gallery because I've decided I'd like to use it for my deviantID, but once again I can't claim credit for making Rarity! I'm afraid all I did was liberate her from the package she came in in the mail, and nothing more!

Another big job of mine! This commission was done for *AtomicGreymon, a friend of mine who had a very specific idea in mind for a FiM-TRON crossover image, and I'm immensely happy to say that according to his reception of the piece, I managed to capture all of his desired elements perfectly! This painting was a great deal of work for me and especially as it took me pretty far outside of my comfort zone (I'm not very familiar with a lot of science-fiction works including the TRON movie itself, and also do not consider myself to be especially skilled at drawing complex inorganic structures) but nevertheless, it is a piece that I'm very grateful I had the opportunity to work on.

Commission: Steampunk Rarity

Well, several of you have been asking about her, and so it's with pleasure that I'm finally able to get her up here. Steampunk Rarity in all of her dreary Victorian glory!

This commission was done for the very tasteful ~Forderz, who came to me wanting a scene of wet-haired, steampunk Rarity out and about in the elements, and looking appropriately disgruntled for this fact. The picture was influenced to a certain extent by Forderz's fondness of this fabulous composition, "Rarity IS Industry", which very much helped to inspire me in creating a proper mood for the piece.

Also, even though I knew that the manestyle at least would not be used I created a page of concept art for the piece, to ensure a better grasp on the outfit that I designed for Rarity. All in all, despite the many challenges I have to say I enjoyed working on this project immensely!

Yes indeed, I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later!

This commission was done for a friend of mine, who very simply wanted a picture of our favorite fashion pony with her hair down (dampness not necessarily required). I was excited to see if I could put my own unique spin on the idea since of course, wet-maned Rarity had a bit of a popularity surge following Sisterhooves Social, and I suppose the way that I most significantly sought to do that was to approach the subject from a less-than-sultry angle as many artists seem inclined to do. In all honesty, my understanding of Rarity's character is that she might actually be a bit shy to be seen in such a state (and especially if she knew anything about how much of her audience seems to view her as such), and I wanted to reflect that accordingly with her posture and expression here; she's posing, but perhaps somewhat hesitantly as I think she'd prefer to be viewed with her trademark elaborately-coiffed mane and tail (with which I can sympathize!).

EDIT: And very belatedly, months after posting this originally I think I will edit the title just a little bit for clarification purposes.

I know, I know, I draw far too much Applejack and Rarity... you all don't need to tell me because I'm already aware, though seeing as how these two are my favorite ponies and I draw my fanart for fun (and not to mention the fact that they both need the love!), I can't say I feel the need to apologize too overly much for the fact!

Anyway though! This picture was originally made as a fun little holiday bonus to go along with a commissioned project of mine, seeing as how I didn't have the chance to do a more involved seasonal-themed piece like I'd originally wanted to. Somehow I don't think Applejack ever suspected the prim and proper Rarity could throw such a mean snowball, and as a completely random aside I'll admit I was sorely tempted to draw the former pony with one of those ridiculously tacky lumberjack-bomber hats with the big earflaps (which thankfully, I thought better of). Sorely tempted.

My third pony commission, done for the very kind =ILoveFluttershy. He came to me wanting a scene of these two together beside a body of water, underneath a beautiful moonlit sky as Fluttershy does her best to comfort a troubled Rainbow Dash. Contrary to how it may look it wasn't intended as a shipping picture though (or at least, not to my knowledge) but if people prefer to interpret it that way than I hope they should feel free.

Yes, more Applejack and Rarity fanart, my two favorite ponies! <3 Obviously, anyone who is familiar with either me and/or my pony-art knows that I do admittedly have a soft spot for Rarijack, but I'm also an individual who places a great deal of value on friendshipping and often prefers to leave my "shipping" pictures open to personal interpretation. That having been said, Rarity may or may not be getting far more enjoyment out of tormenting Applejack with hairspray and ribbons than she should, and Applejack may or may not be really bad at disguising the fact she'd like to tell Rarity exactly what she thinks of "high style". I just love their dynamic together, in any context... I find them too hilarious and lovable.

...I know what you all are thinking, and quite honestly I have no excuse for myself. This idea just came to me one day and for better or for worse, I felt compelled to draw it!

And while many people seem to consider this picture as a ""Rule 63" Discord it seems, the truth of the matter is I intended it to be more along the lines of "crossdressing" ala-Bugs Bunny/classic Warner Bros.-type cartoon humor if that makes sense. However, as I always do encourage people to draw their own conclusions and interpret things as they like, I suppose it could work well for a "Discordia" or whatever it is that she might be called for those who prefer that.

When Lesson Zero first aired, I promised on an Equestria Daily discussion post that I would draw therapist-Twilight, and though it took me several weeks (if indeed not months; I'm having trouble remembering at this point) I did eventually get around to it! I have always been of the opinion that Twilight looks quite good in glasses, wouldn't you agree? She really should wear them more often, and I do feel the manestyle suits her quite nicely as well.

Ahaha. After Sisterhooves Social aired, this was literally the only thing I could think of drawing. What I can only imagine Rarity's family portrait might look like, if indeed her parents could even succeed in wrangling the poor flustered thing in front of the camera for such a purpose to begin with...

Also, as I'm sure that at least one person will bring it up I'm well aware that many in the fandom assert that Rarity's father must (or should) be an earth pony, but considering he was wearing a considerably large hat in the episode I think it's pretty much impossible to say for certain. In any case it was my preference to draw him as a unicorn, but by all means if people prefer to believe the alternative let them feel free.

My very first "big" pony commission, I would say. This piece was done for the ever-lovely ~jodyjm13, a good friend of mine who wanted a picture of Octavia in the act of composing, as opposed to just performing with her cello as she is in most fanwork depictions. Many of the details in this picture are hardly what I would consider to be perfect at this point, I'm sorry to say, but more importantly than anything I sought to create a distinct mood when I created this piece, and can only hope people agree I was successful in doing just that.

Poor Rarity. Even though at first glance, she seems to lead a pretty cushy life I think in actuality her work is far more stressful than many people (and ponies) give her credit for, or at least I know how my life tends to treat me when I'm juggling my "day job", freelance art and sewing side work and multiple artistic projects besides. It's not what I would ever describe as "cushy" or glamorous at all; it's difficult!

A random aside that I think everyone who knows me well is aware of, but I seriously adore Rarity when she's wearing her sewing glasses. I've said it before but honestly, a little dressmaker/couturier cartoon unicorn, toiling away at her tiny sewing machine with her adorable red glasses.... it's just too endearing for words, really.
